People are on their own living their life and farming. Fulani herdsmen started destroying their farms and killing the people. People raised alarm to the government meant to secure them but the government turned a blind eye.
The people begged the governors to form a security outfit to secure them since the Nigeria securities were not protecting them (Nnamdi Kanu personally wrote the governors of the southeast to form a security outfit like amotekun to protect the people or he would form one). The governors refused to form a security outfit and Kanu formed one called ESN.
ESN started protecting the land from the fulani herdsmen and the people developed confidence in them and also loved them because they only operated against the Fulani herdsmen and only in the bush.
Then, one day, the police went to challenge them in the bush only to know that the ESN is powerful.
Then, soldiers went to the bush to challenge them only to know that the boys were overpowering. The army left the bush and went to the town and were shooting sporadically.
Then, the ESN followed the soldiers to the town to engage them. And that was how insecurity was formed in the southeast.
Now, who is to be blamed?
For me, I blame the governors for not setting up security the eastern security outfit before Kanu did.

Tranquillity360: World Igbo Congress Rejects Ebube-Agu Advice The S'East Governors To Support The Eastern Security Network (ESN).
WIC spokesman, Basil Onwukwe, in a statement yesterday, stressed that the governors needed to work for and earn the confidence of the Igbo citizenry to support the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and provide all that is necessary to make ESN a strong security outfit for Ndigbo.
He alleged that the Fulani ethnic group was planning to make Nigeria a conquered Fulani territory, and urged southeast leaders not to be seen as tools in their hands. His words: “How do you expect the same people whose kith and kin hold the Sword of Damocles over our heads to be our defenders? That is antithetical. Governors beware of the Trojan horse.
“Considering the foregoing, WIC rejects the Ebube-agu security outfit, following the circumstances surrounding the announcement after the bulge claim that ESN is involved in the prison break in Owerri, without evidence.” According to the statement, a genuine interest in the security of life and property in Igbo land should be an Igbo scheme.
