Finding a job in Nigeria is going to be tough regardless if you have the experience or not, considering the job market. Of course there is hope! however, you may need to temper expectations and start off with any kind of relevant role (which may be financially inconvenient?) to gather experience and add to your qualifications.

I have applied to corner store accounting firms. I have applied to account payable and credit officer roles. Graduate schemes and internship positions from big 4 to the UK Civil service. I have run out of ideas.

Hey guys they're being realistic with that classification, no need to play the race card. This thing depends largely on where you acquired the qualification you intend to work with and how long you want to stay in your host country. If you studied Bsc Engineering in Nigeria and you go to Canada for PhD. Then you get a job with that PhD you will be classed as an economic immigrant. If you're going for a post doc and let's say you did your research in Nigeria, you might get away as an expat. The factual reality is our educational system generally is below par, you will need to measure up with additional qualifications and experience when you travel there. In this case, you remain classed as an economic immigrant. Also, after you compare your renumeration and standard of living you will not want return to your country of origin.

It doesn't make sense to compare these Asians to ourselves. They come from countries where primary school pupils know programming like the alphabet. They have nothing to lose, if you sack any of them, they will move to another developing country to exploit. These guys are not looking to stay for the long run.
