hunee: We are all in this together and we must champion that change. I just advised the said lady to begin to plan her relocation to Nigeria. It is been 9 years of fruitless journey. I said this and i will say it again, WE MUST NOT AND STOP LIVING IN DENIAL. This particular person i am talking about has been so adarmant to leave SA inspite all these developing issues unfortunately that is the problems that come with these things. Suffering and smiling would not be our thing if we get it right, as it stands , all of us are still speaking the same language. TOTAL RESTORATION OF NIGERIA'S LOST GLORY- That is all we want.
All you said here was discussed more than 3hours on the phone. I still dont understand why so many are hell bent on remaining in SA inspite all these recent issues. My prayer is that it does not give rise to another round of xenophobic attacks, because to be honest, the tension is high and we must accept this bitter truth to move forward.
Finally, For you all that always expect me to say everything is fine, "it is well" . Me and you know Nigeria is not well at all. The taxi council in SA has been striking for months. Many African countries are not feeling fine at all, the people must continue to talk. That is why military coups are becoming the order of the day.
I will use every opportunity to speak about the ills in the society we live and profer solutions as a concerned citizen. Nobody can coach me on sugarcoating my country. Things are not right we know, and hope for the best , Yes! but we will continue to talk about the ills just like how America talks about racial profiling and Gun violence advocacy now and then. We must continue to air our genuine and concerned opinions on issues as it affects us.
Goodnight all! Every country has its ills, Nigeria is not an exception. Our image/reputation however precedes us. South Africa as a country is tolling the same route as Nigeria right now, their economy is deteriorating badly, crime rate is on the highest yet you will not see them come out to castigate their own citizens. The media is already doing all the publicizing we need regarding the ills in Nigeria so any opportunity we get should be used to promote the other side people don’t get to see. That being said, he that has ear, let him hear, DO NOT MAKE SA YOUR FINAL DESTINATION. Selah. |

hunee: You see this diplomacy is reason why we are here today. No one want to talk or be called out for the ills in the society gravely killing innocent peoples destiny. I spoke to a friend who has been in SA for more than 9 years. Despite all her connects, she lament of not been able to get a job because the system prefers to favor her own people against foreigners. If Americas and the rest of the world was that way, alot of you that seek greener pastures abroad will not be able to go there! There has to be an equilibrium. A system where you are seen as a criminal immediately you present your passport at the airport is a bad system. This transcends from our society to what people see and perceive about us. We must not shy away from the issues in other to create awareness and better orientation. FYI, alot of people can be rehabilitated and become better persons by reading and hearing some of the things been discussed here. Everytime is not visa visa, let us always deliberate and engage ourselves on issues affecting visa refusals so everyone can be better enlightened. Hmmm, I can’t believe you are saying this. When that nonsense human came here few months ago to insult Nigerians, these are some of the end results. A country where a good portion of the citizens think there misfortune is due to foreigners and they begin to witch hunt immigrants whether you like it or not everyone must suffer the consequences. This is why we were trying to correct the criminal narrative associated with Nigerians living in South Africa, the prejudice, segregation and discrimination is appalling. So many honest Nigerians here without jobs, most have to resort to business because of the constant rejection due to your nationality. I can’t count how many jobs I have applied to on indeed which I know I am beyond qualified for but 98% of the time I don’t even get a call back talk more of an interview. If you are a Nigerian planning on coming to SA for vacation, my advise, suspend your plans for now, these people don’t want you in their country and if you are living in South Africa fully, please start planning your exit, a country where the people have so much hate against you and can turn on you at any given time is genuinely not worth it in my opinion so don’t be too relaxed in this country. If you want more insight as to how much this people hate foreigners, go and watch the latest BBC documentary on YouTube detailing the horrific attack on immigrants. |

😃😃😃 You are worse than I thought. A filthy human will always rant. Engaging you will be a waste of my time and energy✌🏽Someone said , lazy and jobless South Africans, I guess they are right. Stay blessed or maybe not. Lionessza6: 1.You are right about one thing here , this is a Visa thread. But you're naive if you think visa enquiries aren't going overlap to the whole migration issue and that both sides aren't going to voice out their opinions about the host and the visiting community. If you went through the thread from its formative years , you would have realised that such debates and banters always take place occasionally, most started by your compatriots.
2. Both the Nigerian and SA governments cant control how the host community welcomes the guests** and how the guests act in their host countries. There are plenty of SA activivists who have voiced their concerns about the Nigerian issue to the SA government and have even visited the Nigerian embassy in SA. But the issue isn't much of a governmental issue, this is more about everyday people . And a Nigerian forum ( especially a thread that guides the genesis of migration of Nigerians to SA) is a good enough place to air out grievances from all sides. Unfortunately no one can anticipate or control the conduct of the participants and reception of the messages across board. But such is the nature of such heated engagements. Keeping quiet helps no one. People make better and informed decisions when they're exposed.......normal people ofcourse.
With that being said , let's leave matter . Those with ears will hear. |

This whole thread and banter is sad and really disturbing. This thread is for Sharing useful information regarding visiting South Africa. If you as a South African have issues with that, please take it up with your government and DHA. This is not the right platform for your hate and political/ immigration activism. I hope the moderators delete all these meaningless banters. If you want to be an activist, the street is there for you to express yourself and your concerns. |

When you are tired, you will rest. Lionessza6:

It's not my problem that your knowledge of SA is superficial at best even though you live here . You are mad because even though you're in SA your exposure to South Africa is as limited as that of a Nigerian in Nigeria , your only talking points are the usual white people * ...Hiv** ...lazy*** . And you're shook that I can go as deep as the Biafran war which would immediately scatter your whole Nigerian team here if I wanted to take it there . Knowledge is power. Travelling alone doesn't make you knowledgeable, it can still leave you as superficial and empty as you were if you don't open yourself up to learning. You probably know nothing about SA politics and why things are currently messy even though you're here . But guess what I know a lot more about the cash -cow of Africa ( Nigeria) because it is good business to study your country trends. When trailers carrying tomatoes and other produce from the North can't enter the East because of unknown gunmen and other stupid poverty enhancing protests , I want to know about it and where else the Igbos will source these products from.
When Nigeria closes its land borders with Benin which affects importation into Nigeria from the ports of Benin . And petroleum exports to benin from Nigeria, I want to know about it. If Northeners decide to take their beef to Cameroon instead of the South, I want to know whether the Southern Nigerians will panick , jubilate or not care because they will replace them with imports , and where will they be importing from ?. I want to know the forests where illegal oil bankering takes place in the Niger delta, and how they illegally transport the refined petroleum products via the river into Benin republic and how much everyone is making in that value chain ?.
I want to know if the bandit war between some Fulani and Hausa villages will become more widespread and therefore affect food production in the North and subsequently shortages all over Nigeria ? How important are these two groups of Northerners to Nigerian food production, this I want to know. I want to know if the lagos indigenization policy will actually be approved and if so , how will it affect the Igbo vs Yoruba relations, will there be sabotages in trade ......as in the imports. And is it possible that the mass Igbo importers will be pushed aside in favour of new blood, including foreign players?
You think you have all these foreigners on this forum because they're obsessed with you or are interested in actually migling with you ? . Trolling and engaging might just be a stress reliever, a way to catch some cruise, just saying . You guys have eyes but lack vision . The underdevelopment of your country is an opportunity and its unregulated industries make it a good place to be "obsessed" about . We're not all fascinated by tall shiny buildings and light you know? |

If anything I think we should doubt your own legitimate claim that you are a Nigerian. How can you indirectly support someone with such bigoted claims about your own people but you are quick to correct a claim about South Africans. Why didn’t you correct the notion that Nigerians are drug peddlers and the different criminal acts this individual listed. We can all do better. I hope you are never at the receiving end of this discrimination especially when you miss out on opportunities because of this stereotype. Let’s promote good image of Nigerians both home and abroad. The media is already doing enough harm. How are you different from that loud mouthed UK guy that went on BBC? Wisdom is profitable to direct, I hope we exercise wisdom in everything we say. hunee: I have been to SA three times this year, when people say, South Africans are lazy , Please what they mean by that?
where do they get the statistics from?
I am not supporting anyone, just stating the facts.
yes, the larger percentage of South Africans do menial jobs, but they are quite engaged.
or should we seek clarity on these statements for better understanding? Do you mean South African Men or the Women are lazy?
Because in the cold in major cities, i saw locals cleaning shops, sweeping the street, and working.
I have visited from Garsfontein, Jo burg, Kempton, Pretoria, Hatfield, Major centers in town, I saw a very active city filled with hustling activities.
I dont understand where that is coming from.
And you Lionessza, Just tell us that you like Nigerians alot , because you are very informed than even alot of Nigerians about happenings.
Or are you just an impostor claiming South African whereas you are Nigerian?

GloryJoyeux: Hey Guys,
To be honest, when I read the silly write up of users like Farrason and co, I was dissapointed.
Truly, the mental state of every Nigerian need to be checked at this point, it seems the frustration experienced in different parts of the country at the moment has really affected the reasoning, critical thinking and judgement of a lot of people.
According to the thread, the op's claimed the VFS E-visa website is a scam because others received their visa's on time and then theirs is being heavily delayed. Thus, its a scam? Lol. Among other lame reasons?
I just want to tell you all to take deep breathes, take some time to go throught previous pages on this thread and also make findings before you lay claim to frustration inspired narratives.
Your real problem is the terrible leadership of this country since it's democracy and having no choice to identify as a Nigerian by birth with our green colored passport. For avoidance of doubt, many in the western world and most first world countries do not even know what a tourist visa application is, they just book a flight, sort accomodation and travel.
To the nay sayers, if only you were patient enough to read through earlier pages on this thread, you would have seen cases of fellow Nigerians as your self, who have been granted the E Visa through VFS. Many have even travel and returned.
For further avoidance of doubt, I will like to state, I am a current holder of a MULTIPLE ENTRY, VALID E-VISA obtained from VFS E-VISA portal.
If this next information will frustrate you even more, then you really need to take deep breathes; My visa was issues in 5 days, counting from date of application.
To the poster who didn't see a confirmation mail from VFS after payment, please check your spam and junk folders.
To the rest of you on this thread; moderators, new users and old users. Kindly very information before laying out accusations.
Just because it didn't work for you, doesn't mean it didn't work of others, neither does it mean it's a scam.
Cheers. You have said it all. I was really disappointed when I saw the allegations yesterday. I have chatted with tryhard outside this space and not for once as he given me a scammer vibe, apparently he is also an applicant like most people on this thread. The first time I heard about the VFS e visa was when I went to apply for sticker visa last year November, the guy working at VFS asked why I didn’t opt for e visa instead since it’s faster and it’s just for vacation, but it was too late. Eventually , I had to apply for the VFS e visa when I didn’t hear anything from sticker visa. We have discussed about the delay severally on this platform and it just started this year. Please try to read and digest information before you accuse someone wrongly. I’m sure the guy never called VFS global to confirm anything , his first intuition was to come here and rant. His complaint is also something another person has experienced on this platform which was eventually resolved by VFS. Most people you see dropping comments here every now and then is out of frustration of being kept waiting indefinitely by these SA people, no one is trying to scam you. |

Use your sense why would DHA have a website for eVISA and VFS will have another one? to the scammers above VISA IS BEING APPROVED EVERYDAY ON DHA E VISA WEBSITE. I wont comment again on this matter. 5 OF MY PEOPLE GOT THEIR VISA GRANTS ON DHA EVISA! YOU DONT NEEDS VFS FOR ANY SHIT! DO IT YOURSELF. BYE You must be a joker, I have been to SA more than once and this is thesame VFS number I always call whenever I have issues or I need to confirm something even before they started this yeye VFS e visa. You are just misinformed bro, calm down na of us dey see shege for these people hand , doesn’t mean the website is fake. Ask travel agents they will tell you thesame thing. Apparently, the DHA website has had serious issues lately, it was okay when they started and because of they backlogs of applications they had to CONTRACT e visa processing and issuing to VFS. Stop arguing and accept they you were wrong. |

welf99: E VISA IS DONE ONLINE, just upload all your documents...100% ....you don't need VFS for EVISA...decision is made in PRETORIA This is a very silly accusation. I just called the VFS office in Lagos just to reconfirm and they said the VFS e visa website is genuine. There are two different types of e visa, the one by DHA and the VFS e visa which they just started recently. These people entered into a contract with VFS to help them with visa applications from Nigeria. Nigerians will not read but rather blame others for their misfortune. I have my family living in SA and I heard about the VFS e visa from them first and then my sister before I applied myself. |

Bursttt: In Abuja too they are experiencing load shedding ? Do you know the funniest thing, till today they are still collecting more and more applications, and they are telling them to write that they are aware the application will take longer than their imaginations. If you are overwhelmed with applications, you stop taking applications and work on the one you have and clear it. I feel this thing is planned and intentional for Nigerians. Other countries get theirs in Days, not even weeks. Is there a platform where one can call them out. Are they on social media?, I’m genuinely tired of these wait, it’s frustrating. If anyone knows the ambassador of Nigeria to SA, please drop the name, this is rubbish . As it is now, if you don’t know someone at the consulate office, embassy or VFS , you are on a long thing. |

Myst77: Not sure but, is it really possible to apply outside one’s home country without a long stay visa/resident permit? Also, are Nigerians not banned from Dubai at the moment? Lastly, if one has no business being in Dubai, why would this be a better option considering the cost implication of traveling all the way? The funny thing is, even though it is possible to apply from other countries with your tourist visa, taking such risk with SA visa is not worth it. You will travel down to Ghana only for you to hear that they have started encountering one problem with issuing visas. This is how a lot of people were lured into VFS e visa because of the short time frame but now it’s story. |

I tire oo They should keep doing rubbish. For a country that is facing serious economic meltdown and foreigners leaving their country due to the whole Eskom light rubbish and considering the fact that the larger part of their GDP comes from Tourism, they have refused to have sense. Those who applied earlier didn’t notice this delay but as usual, DHA seems a corrupt institution. Any update from your end? |
Travel › Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Anniebam: 8:28am On Jan 25, 2023 |
Tryhard: I suspect the pressure on e-visa is now much because of the slow release of sticker visa. Sticker visa would most likely reach you weeks after your travel date has passed. Plus if you are going for an event or something that has time frame and the event has elapsed, you’d get a refused decision. So that’s why a lot are now avoiding sticker visa & getting the e-visas Well the funny thing is , the VFS e visa hasn’t helped relieve the pressure on sticker visa in any way. I would ordinarily assume that those who applied late last year for sticker visa should be getting decisions by now but unfortunately that’s not the case and I know few people in this predicament. Some while waiting for sticker visa had to apply for e visa , now everything is tuck. Even top world countries will not give anyone this amount of stress. SA immigration/ embassy are just so inefficient, same problem those who applied for permit inside SA are facing. |

Also, I have noticed that travel agents have hijacked this VFS e visa, charging people outrageous fees and probably bribing their way through while innocent applicants are made to wait indefinitely. This is a serious eyesore and someone needs to sue VFS 🤧🥲 |

Myst77: It depends on the purpose of your visit. What date did you indicate as return date? Or what is the return date on the ticket you submitted? If the purpose is just tourism, I think they should still be able to give you a date after your departure date but, not too close to your return date.
If the purpose of your visit is time bound like based on a training/course schedule, business meeting schedule or any activity that shows that the start and end time is fixed based on the documents you submitted, then your application “may” be rejected if the start time of the activity has elapsed. Thank you for your response. Purpose is tourism and return date is 11th February. |

Insert the date you submitted (if you submitted on a weekend/SA public holiday, insert the next working day as weekend/public holiday does not count).
Please let 15 working days be your maximum wait time (before you begin to worry) but send a follow up email after 10 working days to info.evisasa@vfsglobal.com.
All the best! I understand your point but what then happens when travel date has passed that is the major concern. Sent a mail already and they said it has been escalated. |

Myst77: Lol - I really do hope not. I think you should wait till 25 January 2023 (applying 15 working days)
Just for the sake of keeping the hope alive and not jumping into any quick conclusion, I’d assume that anybody who submitted in the last week/last 2 weeks of December 2022 and 1st week or first 2 weeks of January 2023 may potentially not get their outcome in 10 working days. I’m just going to assume that there were less officers on duty during these periods because of the holiday and the fact that most people go on leave during these periods. These are only assumptions and not based on facts.
Please anyone else that has been waiting past the 10-day processing time should please signify (+state date they applied) so that we know whether to lose hope or not lol. Applied January 5th , travel date , January 21st and visa is not yet out. I’m just tired . I just hope they won’t give an excuse of travel date has passed to deny the visa |
