Why The End-time Church Lacks Power, Part3, (The Complete Gospel)

John 4:48
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe .

Mark 16:15-20
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall [u[speak with new tongues[/u] ;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Introduction
This is the third part of a teaching series that seeks to unravel why the end-time church, which is supposed to demonstrates the greatest power in the history of the church, now lacks power, and in my reckoning has become the most powerless in all church ages, instead.

In Part 1 of this teaching, a biblical analysis of why the end-time church should have the greatest power was carried out. This was immediately followed by the part 2 of the teaching that explained the reason why God gives power. In the second part of the teaching, it was clearly pointed out with many instances from the bible that the principal reason why God gives power is to make people believe His Word which He has given to His servants to declare and to defend the Word until His purpose is fulfilled.

This reason stated in part 2 of this teaching is summarized in the first text stated above.


John 4:48
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe .

It can be deduced from the text that the only reason why God gives His servants power to do signs, wonders and miracles is to make people believe His Words that He had given them to preach.

In this part, we will be looking at what complete gospel is, and why the non-preaching of the complete gospel is the root cause of powerlessness of this end-time church.


Power for the Gospel
In John 4:48, our first text above, the Lord, Jesus Christ stated that if the people did not see signs and wonders, they would not believe the gospel. Let us reiterate the statement, again, in His own words.

John 4:48
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders , ye will not believe.

In other words, He was saying that what would differentiate the gospel from other messages would be the demonstration of power that backs up the gospel.

The statement from the second text above was made after the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ, when He was commissioning the church to preach the gospel. The first thing He did was to give the power for signs and wonders that would make the whole world believe the gospel. See our second text, Mark 16:15-29, for this.

For this purpose of making people believe the gospel which He sent them out to preach, He gave them the following categories of power.

-1. Power to cast out devils: (Power for deliverance)

-2. Power to speak in new tongues:

-3. Power to take up serpents: (Power to do wonders) This is what God told Moses to demonstrate in Exodus 4:1-4.

-4. Power not to be hurt: This protection power.

-5. Power to heal the sick:

The Lord, Jesus Christ, refereed to all these powers as ‘these signs’ in Mark 16:17, thereby corroborating the first text which says ‘Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe’.

All these powers are given by the Lord to His Disciples to make actually make the people believe the gospel.

In another scene before He was crucified, when He sent them to go and preach the gospel, He did the same thing. He gave them power to back up the gospel He sent them to go and preach.

Mathew 10:1,5,6,7
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It can be seen again that the major reason for giving of Power by the Lord, Jesus Christ, to the church, was to back up the gospel which He sent them to preach because without signs and wonders .

Why The end-time Church lacks Power
We have been able to show, starting from Part 1 of this teaching up till now that the principal reason why God gives power to His servants is to back up the Word He has given them to preach. Some examples were listed from the books of the old testament where God gave power to His servants and allowed them to demonstrate raw signs and wonders to back up His Word.

In the new testaments, also, examples of cases where the Lord Jesus Christ gave power to do signs and wonders to both His disciples and the church He has sent them to preach the gospel. Throughout the books of the new testaments, we see many examples of signs and wonders wrought by the disciples because they preached the Gospel which the Lord, Jesus Christ, gave them the power for. They raised the deads. They opened the eyes of the blinds. They raised the cripples.

But now, the church of Christ in this end-time is not demonstrating so much power like the early disciples and churches despite the fact that power to do had been given freely unto them. Why could this be so? The only logical reason could be that the end-time church is not ready to use the power for what it is meant for; in this case to preach the gospel. And this was the major difference between the early church and this end-time church. They preached the complete gospel that the Lord gave them to preach and as such the power of signs and wonders to make believe their gospel worked for them.

However, the end-time church does not want to preach the raw and complete gospel that the Lord gave them power for and as a result, they are becoming powerless. Instead of preaching the raw and complete gospel to which power has been apportioned to make believe it, they are preaching motivation gospel and prosperity gospel – gospels that have no power. Motivational and prosperity gospels cannot open the eyes of blind, nor raise the dead nor bring sinners to their kneels. These can be achieved only by preaching the complete gospel that the Lord, Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and the rest of the disciples preached.

In viewing of this, we will be looking at what the complete gospel is that the church should preach because the church cannot operate in power unless by preaching the raw and complete gospel.

The Complete Gospel
Since we have been able to show that the power of God has been released by God to wrought signs and wonders that should back the gospel, it is logical to assume that the church of Christ n this end-time is either not preaching the gospel or preaching the wrong gospel since the church is not operating in power of signs and wonders that should back up the gospel. But the church of Christ in this end-time is preaching, then, it follows that the gospel that this end-time church is preaching is ‘a wrong gospel’ or ‘another gospel’ for which power to work signs and wonders to make people believe has not been earmarked for.

If that is the case, what is the gospel that the end-time church should preach that will make the readily available power to work signs and wonders that God had given the church to manifest. The followings give us the highlights of the gospel that the Lord, Jesus Christ, Himself, and the disciples preached as recorded in the bible. And the totality of all these messages is what I term the complete gospel that the church should preach. Through them, they raised deads, opened blind eyes, healed sicks and did many signs and wonders.

-1. Repentance
Mark 1:14-15
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel .


- 2. The coming of Jesus Christ at rapture .
Mathew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world or a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.


-3. Judgment of secret sins
Romans 2:16
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.


-4. Confessing, Believing and Calling upon the Lord, Jesus Christ for salvation .
Roman 10:9, 13, 16
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel . For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?


-5. Sanctification
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel , to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

-9. Fear of God .
Revelation 14:6-7
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God , and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters

Summary
For the end-time church to operate in power to do signs and wonders, which had been freely apportioned to her by God, she must be ready and willing to preach the total gospel for which the power is released. This total gospel which the Lord, Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and the rest of the biblical Disciples/Apostles preached include repentance, rapture, death and resurrection of Jesus, sanctification, judgment of God, judgment of secret sins, fear of God, Confessing/believing Jesus and total dependence on the Word of God.

Through the preaching of this complete gospel, deads were raised, sicks were healed, lepers were cleansed, blind eyes were opened and sinners were brought to repentance. Apostle Paul captured this truth in his statement Romans 15:19.

Romans 15:19
19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ .

In other words, Apostle Paul was saying he preached the gospel in full, that he preached the completely gospel, not the partial nor the half-truth gospel, and signs and wonders, through the Power of the Holy Ghost was there to back up the messages he preached.

These are exactly the messages the church of Christ in these last days need to preach in order to operate in signs, wonders, miracles and power, for the last time before the Lord, Jesus Christ, comes.

Conclusion
The end-time church can still experience revival. She can still operate in power. She can still raise deads, open blind eyes, strengthen lame legs, bring sinners to repentance, and win the world for Jesus. To do this, she must get her messages right. She must abandon motivational gospels, prosperity gospel, new world order gospel and the likes – messages not centered on the blood and cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Can motivational gospels open the eyes of the blind or raise the deads? Absolute NO! In the same manner, prosperity gospel cannot bring sinners to repentance.

Actions
Are you an elect of Christ? Are you truly saved? Are you on the narrow road? Do you want to make the rapture/heaven? If your answers are yes, then,

• Make all efforts to heed the warnings of Jesus Christ.

• Be watchful. Pay attention to what is happening around the World and see whether they match what the scriptures say.

• Be filled with the Holy Spirit and be in the Spirit all the time.

• Fast, consecrate yourself, run away from sin and worldliness.

If your answers are NO, then you can repent today. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Kindly sincerely and faithfully pray the prayer of repentance below and make a determination never to commit sin again.

Prayer Of Repentance
Lord, Jesus Christ, I am sorry for all my sins. I confess them with my mouth and I ask for mercy. Please forgive me and wash me in your blood. I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Write my name in the book of life. Give me power over sins and fill me with your Spirit and Joy of Salvation. When rapture trumpet sounds, let me make it. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name, I pray.

Begin to read bible. Begin with the book of John. Pray always. Fast regularly (you can begin with once in a week). Look for a bible believing church where they teach repentance, holiness, salvation and fellowship with them. Pray before you go. Always run away from SINS.
