kayfra: You are correct and you've been vindicated. Right before your eyes, you see the problem playing out. Nobody wants to be accountable so it's easier to pass the buck to the President.
The country is a mess in it's entirety. From the useless lazy youths to the money hungry criminals to the retarded tribal jingoist that see tribe in everything.
God bless the genuine hard working non-criminal Nigerian.
is the president accountable, so that Nigerians can follow his good example. Ordinary asset declaration, he failed. Tax returns, he failed. Just borrowing money to steal upandan after taxing us to our bones. What kind of accountability example is he setting
frosbel2: Fallacy of blaming Buhari ; When Nigerian names are mentioned every single day killing both locally and abroad, we need to sort our house before we blame Buhari. When Nigerian Youth are caught with drugs abroad or caught in scamming scandals, it is not because Buhari did not provide Jobs, it is because of GREED, GREED and then GREED.
When Nigerians cultivate a culture of living large by any means necessary, and when we have parents and elders turning a blind eye, Buhari is not to blame. When we celebrate excess, corruption, and material things at the expense of contentment, community and humility, Buhari is not to blame.
You should address your message to barawo bubu who is the father of all greed monsters.
Firefire: ‘A budget that moves domestic spending in Aso Villa from N580m to N1.7bn cannot be a budget of change’
Abuja – Sen. Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP Abia South) on Wednesday in Abuja, berated the 2016 budget and called on President Muhammaduu Buhari to withdraw it and go back to the drawing board.
Abaribe while making contributions during the consideration of the budget, said the proposal was faulty on many grounds and could not be implemented at it was.
He said that predication of oil benchmark at 38 dollars per barrel when the crude oil price had fallen below 30 dollars per barrel made the budget unrealistic.
Abaribe faulted the government for increasing spending by 30 per cent based on borrowing.
“Mr President, my colleagues, this budget is indeed unique. After the budget presentation, the finance minister has never come to explain the details of the budget as it is normally done.
“It is a budget of change I agree, but it is a change in the wrong direction. I say it is a change in the wrong direction because it says that it is based on zero budgeting requiring all expenses to be fully justified.
“Mr President, a budget that increases spending up to 30 per cent based solely on borrowing, in what way are we justified? That is the question we want to ask the people who brought this budget.
“We know what is going on in the global economy: this budget is predicated on an oil benchmark of 38 dollars per barrel and I can now say that with oil being 28 dollars today, this budget is dead on arrival.
“The job of the opposition is to help the government to get its priorities right, so I want to please urge this government to withdraw this budget and go back to the drawing board,” he said.
The senator also faulted the adjustments made in the budget as well as allocation for spending in the Aso Rock Villa, saying that it was too exorbitant.
He said that the adjustments rather than reduce spending in areas where they were not necessary only spread it into different offices. “Mr President, a budget that moves domestic spending within Aso Villa from N580 million to N1.7 billion cannot be a budget of change.
“We were told that in the revised budget there was an adjustment due to error, we agree but what has happened is that up to N7 billion were moved from buying vehicles and spread to offices.
“It also increased the spending that is due to renovations within the Villa.
“They are going to renovate the Villa with N3.9 billion: what else do you want to renovate there that Nigerians will see in the Year 2016?” he asked.
However, in his contribution, Sen. Ahmed Lawan (APC Yobe North) blamed the previous administration for the lack of funds due to the embezzlement witnessed in previous governments.
He said that this was the 17th budget he would be debating as a legislator and noted that not more than 40 per cent implementation was achieved in the last 16 years.
“The proposal before us is the first budget where the executive has deemed it necessary to give ordinary Nigerians genuine hope.
“N500 billion allocated for school feeding and social SAFTEY NET is commendable.
dre11: The Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs . Winifred Oyo -Ita , has said President Muhammadu Buhari is aware of the reinstatement of a former Chairman of the Pension Reforms Commission , Mallam Abdulrasheed Maina, into the civil service. She however said she warned the President against it .

He gave the directive following the public outcry that trailed Maina’ s reinstatement.

Explaining further , the HoS said she met the President after the Federal Executive Council meeting of Wednesday, October 11 , where she verbally warned Buhari against bringing Maina back to the service.

lordkay10: @bolded, so the financial strength of the party is a function of how many members it has holding elective positions. Democracy is not for Africans
Because Africans are lazy when it comes to community service, which is a subset of politics How do we improve this?

ORIENTATION101: Looters.Atiku and wike no send chop money again. Make una sell the uncompleted pdp headquarter building in wadata to fund the dead party
gabicon: Should PDP not win the 2023 elections, they might just become a regional party. This shows how problematic our political institutions are, they depend on government to survive, meaning that any political party that doesn't have a thread in government is dead. How do we stamp out corruption when the state is paying unallocated salaries of a political parties.
Easy. Save and contribute our own money to the parties and claim ownership of our political process from the thugs and godfathers whom we have allowed to hold us hostage presently. Push for campaign finance reforms with our lawmakers at the state and federal levels as the Brits did almost 150 years ago.
Corrupt and Illegal Practices Prevention Act 1883
The Corrupt and Illegal Practices Prevention Act 1883 (46 & 47 Vict c. 51) was an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. It was a continuation of policy to make voters free from the intimidation of landowners and politicians. It criminalised attempts to bribe voters and standardised the amount that could be spent on election expenses.
Background
Despite the Ballot Act 1872, William Ewart Gladstone's Second Ministry (1880-85) knew that to make voting less corrupt, certain measures were required to eradicate intimidation and bribery. The act meant that the expenses of candidates were published and could be measured against a limit as to how much could be spent on "political campaigns". It laid down rules for the conduct of parliamentary candidates, including a strict limit on expenses. The limit was set at £710 for the first 2,000 voters in the candidate's constituency, and then £40 for every additional 1,000 voters. Note, also, that each candidate was limited to just one party agent (though in exceptional circumstances the candidate did have the right to petition parliament for more). Strict record keeping was required as proof that expenses were not being exceeded. Poorer men could also become parliamentary candidates and under the Act stiff penalties were imposed on those breaking it such as heavy fines and imprisonment.
Although it did not entirely remove corruption from the voting system, it strengthened the Corrupt Practices Act 1854 and was aided by a number of disenfranchised, small boroughs.
The Parliamentary Elections Corrupt Practices Act 1885 clarified that an employer was legally permitted to give paid time off from work to allow employees to vote, so long as this was given equally to all voters and not along party lines.
The Act, except section 42, was repealed by the Representation of the People Act 1949 (c.68), ss.175 & 176(2)&(3) & Sch.9; and the Election Commissioners Act 1949 (c.90), s.21 & Sch.

VIDEO: Another video of Ganduje ‘collecting’ dollars surfaces online
Umar Ganduje, governor of Kano state, who has been trending for the wrong reason, is in the news yet again.
Two videos of him allegedly collecting kickback from contractors handling projects in the state were released by Daily Nigerian, an online platform, earlier in the month.
The governor has denied the videos, saying his political opponents doctored them in order to tarnish his reputation.
The Kano assembly subsequently set up a committee to investigate the allegations.
When he appeared before the assembly, Jaafar Jaafar, publisher of Daily Nigerian, said the videos were not doctored.
He told the investigative panel of how a contractor had informed him of the governor’s practice of “receiving kickbacks” from every contractor in the state.

Pray for sense please to distinguish lies and propaganda next time. How many Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC governors are owing salaries for years? The two civilian presidents to increase minimum wage were from PDP, but incompetent barawo bubu has increased every cost but not minimum wage.

MobilityExpress: Biggest mistake. I swear I regret voting Buhari in 2015. The first term was a big eye opener. No way I could vote for him again in 2019. Voting for him once was bad enough, but to imagine that some people voted for him twice is sickening. I'm not a fan of Atiku either, and cannot vote for Atiku either, but I wish Nigerians had tried other candidates like Oby Ezekwesili or Sowore. We are responsible for our suffering when we keep voting terrible government leaders like Buhari into power. His economic policies are just zero, nothing to write home about. His anti-corruption war might be a bit commendable but the gains he makes in anti-corruption, he destroys with useless economic policies, a somersault government that takes 10 steps forward, then takes 80 steps backwards.
You fell for the same demonisation propaganda that APC used to make you vote against Jonathan in 2015 to also vote against Atiku in 2019. Both of them are not good but way better than Buhari.
MobilityExpress: Can you see how they intentionally skipped Northern states from this economic madness policy? Their main target is the Southwest, Southeast, SouthSouth, regions that sustain this country's economy, and left the freeloader states in the North. Nigeria should just break. Enough of this daylight robbery. I swear the biggest fools in this country are Southern elites who just sit idly back and watch as the Northern elites continues to scheme new ways to rob the Southern region of all its resources and rape the economy of the South to feed the greedy parasites in the North that flex with southern money
That is the modus operandi of the Fulani Republic of Naijeriya, FRN aka BuhariStan:
Appoint southerners like Fowler and Emefiele to squeeze the south for money. Appoint northerners like Kyari, Buratai and Mansur Muhammad Dan Ali to spend it without accountability.

Stop believing lies please. You can deduce why Dasuki is not allowed to give testimony in public or be tried all these four years from the sample below. Buhari is the biggest thief of all.
orunmila144: are you seriously asking where a 2 time president and petroleum minister got money to send his children abroad? even people with lesser jobs can afford to send their children to school abroad talk less of a whole president and not only is he a president he is a general
Yes, I am asking. What was his salary then when minimum wage was not even up to N5,000 that Obasanjo increased it to in 2000 A general who is a thief, is what you mean. The fact that "even people with lesser jobs" steal to afford the schools abroad is no excuse for your General to also be a rogue.
Obasanjo gives workers a 'living wage' 1 MAY 2000
President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday announced a massive increase in the Nigerian minimum wage to bring levels into line with economic reality, after the level had remained unchanged since 1981.
The new monthly minimum wage will 5 500 naira (about R370) compared to the previous legal minimum of only 250 naira (about R17)
Public sectors workers will receive a monthly minimum of 7 500 naira as against their current minimum of 3 500 naira, which was updated more recently in September 1998.
orunmila144: my friend go and sit down. thank GOD you are not born in the UK. they get taxed in the UK to watch their own television that they bought with their own money
Waiting for you to show barawo bubu's tax certificate. That should be easy to do as it is in the UK where he goes for rest when he is tired of the mess he created in naijeriya. Jonathan did that in his clueless corruption, why not the saint?

orunmila144: i have not seen his tax returns but i am sure he pays his taxes. this is a man who refused to collect his lifetime bonuses from the army because he said there is no need for him to
Stories that are illogical. How did he get money to send all his children to schools abroad? Even secondary school? Where did he get money for elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011 plus Supreme court cases? If it smells like a lie, quacks like a lie, then it must be a lie.
orunmila144: if you want to live like the west ( as many of you nigerians desire to ) you must learn to pay tax like the west
Let barawo bubu and his 40 thieves cabal lead with example and not just words. Let the change start with them and we will follow. How much has he ever paid in taxes on the money he receives and spends plus his benefits? Is that too much to ask and see happen
