bittyend: What's affecting Nigeria is the forceful union of different people. I don't think there will ever be peace in Nigeria - Igbos and Yoruba will NEVER agree, and Hausa/Fulani will always want to dominate. The best solution is for everyone to go their separate ways, and maintain mutual friendship. No what is effecting Nigeria now is corruption and jobs, if most Nigerian state governments start taking care of their citizens by providing basic necessities, opportunities, and having available jobs for the citizens to do something useful there wouldn't be any time for BOKO HARAM, and other nuisances in Nigeria. If Nigeria had did that these issues among the tribes wouldn't even come up because as much as yoruba and igbo you say have their disagreements here and there, it is minor because they don't let it interfere in them progressing. It is really Northern Nigeria that is a little bit the issue now because of literacy issues, and etc. They are not in the same pace as southern Nigeria and it is their leaders that have to blame for that. When you make people productive and educated, Boko Haram will be the last thing that will come into their minds moving forward will be. |
bittyend: Splitting the country would be best thing to happen to Nigeria - and that's the only way we can move forward. But if we can't get that - we should get resource control, regional government, and limit migration around the country.Nigeria had it's chance twice to split up, the first when they got their independence and secondly after the war and that didn't happen. it is to late for that and will end to war, and cause more harm then good because the north will not allow that to happen due to the fact of natural resources, and lastly Nigerians have invested alot all over Nigeria. What's effecting Nigeria now is corruption, accountability and jobs |
Shollypopz: The thread has turned into a politics thread, i knw nadaso true, lol |
bittyend: Oduduwa republic is the future!ok, if that is what you think; this split up Nigeria talk is just talk to me |
bittyend: I just added war to it. Ethiopia is ahead of Nigeria in terms of developments as well - Nigeria is just about hype.Like I said before Nigeria isn't perfect but Ethiopia has alot of poverty and other issues effecting their country and to start comparing is ridiculous so you can also say Ethiopia is a mess |
PhysicsQED: Yeah, Nigeria's military is probably nothing special, but if Ethiopia couldn't defeat Eritrea, then how much better is their modern army really? They were strong in the past, but now. . .not so much.cosign 100% |
bittyend: Nigeria can't compete with Ethiopia - and Ethiopia would whoop Nigeria in a conventional war. Don't let me start talking about their military hardware lol!!Actually they can and they have, sorry. So war is the way Ethiopia beats Nigeria, Is there a reason they have to be in a war in the first place?, both countries rarily engage with each other |
bittyend: I'll play the devil's advocate and argue that Ethiopia is still light years ahead of Nigeria in terms of overall developments, and foresight. Nigeria is in shambles - no organisation, no planning - just 170million headless people with no future.Nigeria has it's flaws, which I won't deny but some of the things you are saying seems like fairy tales to me, especially that Nigeria follows Ethiopia since when? any way you always have issue with Nigeria |
Shollypopz: Wow! Really?? hhmm....I...I...thought it was d opposite ooooIt is the opposite always when it comes to black diaspprians majority of the time, which is obvious but when it comes to Africans it is different, and horners tend to be in the front of the pack when it comes to their disdain of them, which at times tends to be different from south africans or ghanians for example |
SmoothCrim: Well I judge by immediate behavior and not deep down!!No, I don't think it is jealousy, I think it is the historic relationship between the two countries that caused the animosity or competition between the two groups. Remember Decades ago that the Ghanian government kicked out Nigerians from Ghana and the nigerian government did it back decades later(Ghana must Go) to Ghanians in Nigeria. |
PhysicsMHD: red, black, and green = Marcus Garvey, also pan-AfricanismLOL, So true |
Nayah: The problem is that you guys give them reasons to be "superior" or whatever...if you see some sections on here we can see many threads about Ethio/Somali( skin, models, comparison and so on)...giving them this feeling of superiority so this is not a surpriseBut sometimes the Op of those threads are not nigerian, they are Somali or Ethiopian trolls though. To be honest many Nigerians are not familiar or know to much about Horn of Africa, who do you think are the ones saying bantu and all this nonsense all the time |
kengis: LOL nice vid !ghana peeps got no dignity at all :beggars !True, they are the number one africans plus somalis, eritreans, or horners that tend to not want no connection with african american and Caribbeans based on experience |
kengis: Unfortunately ,gov organizations are M-A-I (missing in action) ...sad but true sometimes |
SmoothCrim: A flag representing Niger-Area!!green stands for agriculture and wealth and the white stands for peace |
SmoothCrim: We call it gold... As I said... It is not the colors only but, what it means...interesting |
SmoothCrim: And this is all about interpretation... In Ghana the Black star represents the Freedom of Africa... In some African countries they have put a Black Star there but, have interpreted it as failure...Well I am not disputing the meaning of the black star in the Ghanian flag(because I have heard this it means black people), you are right but I don't remember any other african country with a black star though. |
kengis: Ghanaians are beggars ,they just want more dollars from the "black diasporians"There has been debate about that from some black diasporians about some ghanians intentions, so you may have a point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jFviE37E2Y When it comes to Ethiopia you are right, it was the other way around when it came to the Rastafarians and selassie guy or whatever his name is |
SmoothCrim: The Black Star is the most important part!! Ghana is one of the few African countries that has accepted the people are Black!!!To be honest, The black star is the reason I remember the Ghanian flag, if it wasn't for the that, it would have joined the sea of endless other green, yellow( or gold), and red flags |
I agree but i still wish we where more creatives. maybe a firecome warrior or a mythological creature would have looked good. just saying. .
I think the first will make the flag look tachy |
SmoothCrim: Red gold and green was made popular by Ghana...It's origin is Ethiopia but I don't believe it was due to direct inspiration but, inspiration from pan-Africanist like Marcus Garvey who was likely inspired by Ethiopia...you mean red, yellow, and green; any way you have some points Ghana and Ethiopia tend to have a connection when it comes to pan-africanism and all that stuff, Nigeria never really connected to that though. It even makes more sense now why the ghana government preach more for black diasporian out reach programs |
PhysicsMHD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-African_coloursinteresting, pan african colors, so that's the genesis of it? |
onila: Ethiopia-the birth of Nations-the origin of the green, yellow and red common African flag !I always wondered why most west african countries had that same color theme with their flags but different styles; always wondered what was the root of it but the Ethiopian connection could be possible but the funny part Nigeria never followed that color theme. |
kengis: I was just being sarcastic lolexactly, that is the reality of it, to me there needs to done by government organizations where their sole purpose is to find artifacts and etc of their people. |
slimyem: Its only peeps stuck in the stone age that still have such useless mentality...Amen, cosign 100% it is that surname Mentality that makes people still follow that ancient belief; in china they make a big deal out of it, the way they kill female babies there since they can only have one child, so they prefer males over females there because of that. I am not against surnames or females taking their husbands and males retaining their own but I dont think that should be the reason males should be valued over females but I have seen some with that mentality. |
1025: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-19333908I commend her for that, this is how you stop corruption |
yorubaamerican: Only for now. I can't picture staying here permanently.oh interesting |
yorubaamerican: Great point!so you live in Nigeria permanently? |
