I won't state what the memo says about the two other major tubes here, but I assure you that they are much better and impressive assessments. This is the primary reason the British were more comfortable with handling over the reigns of the country into the hands of the least sophisticated of the three major ethnicities, that is the one that will not question their actions or motives.

I have been trying to get the full volumes of this memo but the resource is only available on institutional login in the British library. I hope to be able to have time to visit the place in person one of these days.

If we juxtapose socrates opinion with the nigerian situation it clearly mirrors what just happened during the presidential election and some others in the past.

It is a clear case of people who never thought about burning issues deeply and rationally i.e illiterates, underage voters, ethnic and religious persons, vote buyers/sellers deciding who leads.

Thereby many "sweet shop owners and few doctors were elected".

Unfortunately it reflects our society where rules are disrespected to suit selfish interests of the few. And its partly the reason some believe africa is not 'ripe' for democracy.
