An average (northern) Muslim is ultra-sensitive to religion and sees any potential contest involving their Muslim brother and a non-Muslim as an avenue to demonstrate support/solidarity for the Ummah, and above all assert their influence politically. Trust me, a good number of those northern governors especially El-Rufai wouldn't be rooting for Tinubu but for the fact that he was up against Christian aspirants.
They will NEVER support a non-Muslim against their own and this they have demonstrated at the APC primaries.

The primaries are however behind us now and the election proper will present a completely different scenario where your assertion will most likely come to the fore.
There's simply no way for Tinubu to Aso Rock through the ballot.

If the other parties can closely monitor INEC and check-mate every rigging scheme they could possibly employ, I assure you that Tinubu and his APC will at best finish 3rd in 2023.

I didn't evade your question. I only gave you a very practical example. Can you tell me why Jonathan a non Northern and a Christian won the likes of Bornu in 2011? Buhari had 9% while Jonathan had 70%.

If Tinubu had run along side Buhari, the South West Christians would still have given him their votes just like they obviously did during this primaries in preference and not their votes to a Pastor.

First, not only Yorubas live in the SW, especially Lagos State.
