MayorofLagos:
If SE and SS have some sense, this development should be opposed at all cost.

Like I always say, Yorubas need to take Ibos under our wing and assist their understanding of political turfs and tact and how the two elements are crucial for victories and dominance.

So I stand on this belief that the politically matured and savvy Yoruba should assist in pointing to the inept Ibo where political advantages exist and how to aspire for it.

I want all Ibos reading this to share with their Ezes and Ohanaeze that their inclusion in APC rulership will be very marginal and they must accept it as reality of their own informed action. To every cause there is an effect.

I also would like them to come to terms with their new role as the opposition bloc. PDP had a dry turn out in the NE and NW. The only glory PDP have for saving face is in their count in the National Assembly. If we take a poll of PDP assembly members majority are South Easterners. Therefore we can propose a similar formula as with APC and suggest power sharing in the opposition must reward support base and victories. In that case SE should get a chunk of the leadership positions in the opposition party, BoT Chairman should then go to an Iboman.

So why has it been given to an Hausa from NW where PDP just had an abysmal performance? What merits NW getting rewarded for poor performance?

The answer is simple! When it suits their temperament, PDP shares power by zone. The last BoT Chairman Tony Anenih is from SS. Before him it was Bamanga Tukur, from NE. Before that it was Obasanjo, from SW. Now they have moved it to NW.

In the just concluded election APC as a ruling party is distributing power in equity to its support base and victories....not according to zone!

BoT Chairmanship in the hands of Obasanjo produced YarAdua and succeedingly Jonathan. Obj had a plan mapped out (there's no winning against Baba Iyabo) and he unfolded it successfully.

Bamanga followed suit and would have succeeded if it wasn't for Obj rocking the PDP boat.

So in the hand of a veteran politician and power player BoT is a powerhouse of immense dimensions and it is from here that the future of PDP performance in the midterm elections and the next general elections will be shaped. PDP has inferred that it is interested in fielding a Northerner against Buhari in 2019.

What is wrong with an Ibo candidate? Ibos just delivered for PDP, when do they get their reward?

Ibos must speak up and against picking Haliru Mohammed from NW for BoT Chairman. Get an Iboman in there.

PoliticsTransparency Int’l Rates President Jonathan Govt As Best to Buhari, Obj Govt by anwo247(op): 3:15am On May 23, 2015
According to Transparency International’s data from 1979 till date, the tenures of both General Muhammadu Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo were more corrupt than the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The data also showed that under the administration of President Jonathan, Nigeria has recorded its best score in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) since 1979. This is in complete contrast to the sordid picture of rampant corruption being painted by the opposition, ardent critics of the Jonathan administration and much of the media in the last few years – especially in the build up to the general elections.

But the point that the figures from Transparency International make so clearly is that, in comparative terms, Nigeria is actually much less corrupt today, and perceived globally to be much less corrupt today, than it has been in the last 35 years – including under the regimes of General Buhari and President Obasanjo, both of who wear the toga and chant the mantra of anti-corruption. Shockingly, according to the TI data, President Obasanjo’s first tenure had the worst scale of corruption during the 35 years period between 1979 and 2015.

The TI Corruption Perception Index is a rating of countries from 1 to 100 showing their corruption scale. A rating of 1 is the worst and rating of 100 means a country is completely free of corruption. The pass mark is 50 and any country scoring below 50 is considered a corrupt country.

In the year 2000, Nigeria was ranked the most corrupt country in the world – and improved marginally in 2001 and 2003 when it was rated the second most corrupt nation in the world in the TI’s Corruption Perception Index. This was certainly not under the watch of President Jonathan.

Since 2012, Nigeria has made steady improvements in the CPI. Indeed, under President Jonathan, for the first time in decades, Nigeria is not in the list of 1-10 most corrupt countries in the world.

In the 2014 Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, issued in December, Nigeria was ranked 136 out of 175 countries surveyed in the report. This ranking placed Nigeria, alongside five other countries, as the 39th most corrupt country in the world. This is Nigeria’s best ranking in the last four years.

With this ranking, Nigeria leapfrogged eight countries within a space of one year – from the 31st most corrupt nation in 2013 to the 39th in 2014. This may be regarded by cynics as a small achievement: but it represents a big step in the right direction.

Indeed, the administration of President Jonathan deserves some commendation for the positive steps it has taken, and the modest achievements it has made so far, in the war against corruption – rather than the vengeful knocks it is receiving from various quarters.

Buhari's constant travel to the UK is bothering many people, and for a good reason too.
Check this :
He went to the UK at least 5 times last year and this is his 2nd trip to the UK this year, he last visited in March just before the election.

I hope Buhari has stopped operating that Midland bank account, same account that mysteriously has 2.8billion deposited then removed in 1984/85.
Can't his daughter in the UK manage his account or Buhari doesn't trust her?

I think the expectations people have of this incoming administration are way too high. Buhari can't just "jail" anyone he thinks was corrupt. He will have to go through due process and there he will face some of the bottlenecks his predecessor did eg a corrupt judiciary, etc. the first thing Buhari should do upon his assumption of the presidency is to reform the judiciary if not he will be made to look as weak as Jonathan.
Buhari reform Judiciary?

From all indications, the APC may eventually snowball into something akin to the feared Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt!

The APC is gradually becoming a threat to our democracy. Their must-win attitude is a disaster waiting to happen.

Just days ago , El-rufai threatened the outgoing Kaduna state Governor with jail if the latter touches some kind of money belonging to the state.

I'm scared.
Elrufai is an adult kid. Until may 29, he has no say on what happens to kaduna state treasury.

APC is just like Muslim brotherhood in Egypt. All the crhistrsins that voted APC both in SW and NC were certainly more than 2m. If they had realised the Islamic agenda of APC which comes from their nature, buhari would not have won, even with his underage voters.

RomanceRe: Nigerian Women Aren't Gold-diggers, They Are Only Pursuing Happiness. by anwo247: 6:19am On May 18, 2015
Ellidude:
One thing we shouldn't do is mistake gold digging for HAUNTING FOR HAPPINESS..
A gold digger craves for a good status and doesn’t have long-term goals, the gold digger walks around feeling entitled to the good life without feeling any need to lift a diamond-encrusted finger to achieve it.
Your ego is boosted when you consider that she’s so much hotter than you are, but bear in mind that this could be a bad sign. No offense, but if she’s miles better looking than you are, you have to wonder what she’s hoping to gain from the relationship. If you happen to have a fat wallet to accompany your great head of hair, it could be a sign that she’s hoping to increase her wealthby association.
She has to get to the front of the line at clubs, so she pops open a button on her cleavage-exposing top. She wants her neighbor to change her car tire so she won’t be late for lunch with the girls, so she walks over to him in a figure-flattering dress to make him drool. The gold digger uses her looks for short-term gain, and she probably charmed you that way too. But she doesn’t use her looks for long-term goals, simply because she doesn’t have any.

Now these few reasons, tells us how most nigerian women chase money and call it chasing happiness..A lady who searches for happiness, neglects her selfish reasons and goes for what she sees helpful to whom she's dating..

Happiness is more than just materiality..Materials are prone to get spoilt..If this is what a lady emulates, it definitely means she's a gold digger..But in some way, THE OP IS REALLY CORRECT..
The OP is largely correct!

Love is the most complex thing to define on earth. Yet, it fades away in no less way than money/material.

If you've been hurt chasing just love, uou would understand the ingenuity and the intelligence of Nigerian ladies.
