Schools in Rivers State resumed for first term(first term, 2022/2023 Academic Sesson) on the 12th of September, 2022. As expected, no teaching and learning aids were seen until this morning, 28th September, 2022 when our head teacher called the teachers and brought out 6 dusters, a packet of whiteboard marker and a packet of pen for the school. The items could not go round the classes. I have to go to a sister school to affirm the items and I found out that it is the same thing. Meanwhile, this is third week of resumption. *No diary *No register *No chalk for the classes that uses chalk. In essence, the purpose of this post is to reaffirm how the present government in Rivers State do not care about Education. My class received a marker, a duster and a pen. NB: We have bought register, diary, marker, etc before now.

Why is it that the FG keeps insisting that there is no money to meet ASUU's demand in order to end the ongoing strike, but these guys claim to be spending 18.3 billion naira on daily basis. Isn't this ironical? |
