By the way the risk involved is greater than what you want to achieve with cleaning it.

But don't take medical advise from me or anyone here without getting someone qualified to ascertain whether we got it right or not. Why not ask around here who knows a good paeditrician around your area. HTH

Gbagada? Can you go to Lifeline Children's Hospital in Surulere (please look up their address and info, I don't have it). What about LASUTH Ikeja? It's a teaching hospital so there will be consultant paeditrician there. Check online for their address. Since after taking meds for one ear, both ears are now bringing out pus, you can escalate your treatment options.

Ok thanks I will do just that or may be I will change from General Hospital to another one cos it seems to me they are doing guess work there. The last time I took him for the issue of illa (normal name) but it's caused by bacteria oooo the Doctor there was typing and sreaching for the cause on goggle. So I was pissed, it was someone who prescribed Bactroban here which actually worked it.

But why were you putting swabs in his ear in the first place? You're not supposed to. The swabs are meant to clean the outer perimeter of the ear (the part you can see). Swabs can actually push stuff inside the ear and not safe for babies. Go back to the hospital and if you're satisfied with the advice given to you, ask the doctor that you'd like to see a paeditrician. The paeditrician will then take a look and make some recommendations.

All mothers, cotton swabs are not safe for baby's ears because they cannot sit still and swabs can push stuff like bacteria (staph for example lives on everyone's skin, clean or not ) into the inner ear and cause wahala. Dampen a swab and use it to clean only the outer part of the ears. Don't worry about wax build-up for now, your child refusing to answer your calls is not that the child is deaf, he/she's being stubborn

Not to scare you but I know someone who was born ok buh became deaf before the age of 2 due to an ear infection.

Happy Sunday to you all. I tried cleaning my boy's ear@ 3months that was last month never knew had gone far he was the one who shaked that was when I knew had gone far. Some days later I notice pus coming out from his ear. I then took him to General Hospital Gbagada I was asked to go for ear swab and after which I was asked to buy Orelox, Zyncet with Vit c which I gave him for one week and I gave him the complete dosage I notice some pus still comes out of his ear not just that one both now. What do I do? Or have anyone experienced such? Thanks
