Hello aolatunde00,

If she is going for vocational training, she MUST have an M1 visa. I would encourage her to inform the interviewing officer of her situation at the time of her interview. She will need to have the means to cover all expenses related to her school and medical care.

Regards,
Abuja NIV Team
.

Thank you ma"am/sir

Good evening V.O,
Hope you're great.I have a question on behalf of a collegue. She intends to go for a short vocational training and have her baby almost at the same time.Shes not sure whether to stick to the M1 visa applied for on her Ds160 or she should apply for a B1/B2 visa instead.
She's not sure which visa can allow her do both ie do a vocational training and have her baby at about the same time.

Thank you.

Evening house.Pls I have a question on behalf of a colleague.
She's already filled her Ds 160 form and in it she applied for an M1 visa because she has a 6wk training program she's going for but she's also pregnant and intends to have her baby same period. So basically she wants to do the training and also have her baby not long afterwards.Shes paid for the training already.
My question now is should she leave the Ds160 with the M1 visa request or she should fill a new Ds160 requesting for a B1/B2 visa?
Not sure which visa allows her do both.
FamilyRe: Please, Advise Poor People To Stop Bringing Innocent Children To Suffer On Earth by aolatunde00: 6:45pm On Aug 30, 2015
I think people should be allowed to have children it's the number I have a problem with.
Why have more children when the one or two you have can barely eat.I know a lady who has 5kids(all boys) all because she wants a girl. The last boy is almost 3 and can barely walk.Poor nutrition is written all over him and his 4 older brothers.Almost every week she asks for money to feed her kids, give them something to eat, money for drugs etc...
I didn't mind at first, but with time i became upset. Why bring these children into the world to scavenge?the last boy is my son"s age mate and I feel sorry for him the most so I always assist as much I can.
But guess what?something tells me she's still going to try for another girl!

Thanks Hawttattoo. I think i'll do it myself by getting a visa via Atlanta. I start today and will send it out probably tomorrow. Which doctor delivered your baby? The lactation specialist there, the tall lady only sees moms that are doing exclusive breastfeeding. She's a Port Harcourt person and we quickly identified with each other.
She did well to drop a manual Medela breast pump which was helpful and got my wife started. The others came freely lovely drinks from the pantry room, food, baby blankets, similac et al. For moms using Dr. Morgan you can ask the nurses if you are entitled to these little perks.

P.S I know it's been said here before but ensure you let your pediatrician or whoever will be performing your child's circumcision what you want. Tell them naija style and show them a pencil sketch of what you want if you think it will help them else you may end up doing it again.
I also had to redo my son"s circimsion in Nigeria when we came back as it wasn't done Niger style. The doctor left excess foreskin and his cap was still partly covered.I personally didn't mind but all the looks and questions on why I was yet to circumcise him after 3months was getting too embarrassing. After input from parents,in laws etc(trust our people now),I re circumcised him and believe me it was a very painful experience for us both.
My suggestion;take a picture of what you want along.A friend went with her older son that was circumcised in Nigeria and showed his "thing" to the doctor.

Morning house,Pls I have a question on behalf of a friend.
Her interview is slated for 10days after her white wedding and she"s wondering whether to say she's now married or still claim single lady as that's what she has on all her paperwork with the embassy.
She's 5months pregnant already and wants to go have her baby in Texas.

File was not lost in my own case and Dr. K was awesome
He's my doctor too and yes he's splendid grin.when I went in today,he's gotten them to retrieve my past sonograms and all my test results.Since he's been my doctor from the beginning, there's no problem with him summarizing what my visits have been like.Very co operative and understanding.
My vexation is with that chubby lady at the reception angry
Arguing and not apologetic about their mistake at all

Terese69:
What's most important is an early sonogram report alongside other sonogram reports. The earliest one you did. And then he can give you a summary of your antenatal reports and then your tests results.

They want to know if you are having mutiples or a singleton, if the there was any complications, your medical history, family medical history, stuff you compalined about during your checks etc etc.

You may also want to contact your doctor in Dallas and ask what exactly he would like to see in the summary so you can come prepared.
Thanks babe.Let me see how he's going to produce all this info.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by aolatunde00: 7:02pm On Aug 14, 2015
I'm not sure what the cut off mark is but they won't accept you if you are 34 weeks and above. They regard your pregnancy as high risk especially if:

1. You don't have a sonogram report done before 20 weeks or I think sometime during your first trimester.
3. Your doctor's report from Nigeria isn't comprehensive enough for them/does not contain certain information they need to ascertain your current status.
1. Before you get here, contact your prospective doctor(s), send them your records.
2. Be clear on the information they require. There are certain tests and sonograms they expect to be done at certain stages in your pregnancy and your Nigerian hospital may do things differently. So try talk to your Nigerian doctor about what you need done to find a middle ground

![/quote]Thanks a lot Therese.i crammed this page cos I just knew I was going to come back to it.I started my ante-natal at 6wks in a hospital at Gra Ikeja.at exactly 24wks,the hospital changed location and lost my file in the process! To say I am upset is putting it mildly.
Now I have a doctor who's requested for my medical records so far(now 28wks) and I have nothing to send!!!
The Lagos doctor has said my "investigation reports could be retrieved and my history summarized" .whatever that means.
Pls could you or anyone in the house help with what exactly I should tell him my records at 29eks should include?
I'm heading to Denton Dallas and using Texas Presbyterian.
Thanks all.

I'm yet to see what will convince me to spend so much on anyone"s burial o(my parents inclusive).
For starters I don't believe in contributing money to the burial party of anyone who's dead.Pls do whatever your personal purse can afford and let it be Pls.why inconvenience the living(myself) for someone that's dead already??I don't understand it and I certainly don't support it.
The only giving im going to be doing is giving something to the little or aged ones left behind by the deceased.

I think mothers should just listen to what their doctors tell them instead of all this nairaland consultation(aspirin or not, compression socks or not).
When I travelled(with British airways though so there was a stop over in the uk),I didn't use compression socks.
Also I was a cabin crew on international flights for a couple of years and I didn't notice pregnant women wearing such becos they were on long haul flights.
Unless you are at risk of something,Pls don't bother bout the socks. My take.
FamilyRe: Do You Believe In Karma? Share the Story by aolatunde00: 9:04am On Mar 10, 2015
There's this incident I heard about years ago.
A young man was knocked down and kicked by a careless driver on the oshodi express way.The driver was apprehended and taken to the police station.
Seeing it was a clear case of manslaughter, the careless driver offered the inspector in charge some money to say the slain man was actually drunk and he was at fault.
At this time, the inspector had a son who was planning to abroad but he didn't have enough funds to sponsor the trip. The bribe offer was just about the amount of money he needed for his son so he accepted.
They got some alcohol, poured it on the dead mans" body and said he got into the road in a drunken state.the police inspector took the money and sent his son abroad.
Ten years later, his son came home for the very first time since he travelled. As karma would have it,his son was killed at that same spot in oshodi by a drunken driver!
Exactly 10years after the innocent boy was killed

I hope my experience helps someone.
I got my first Us visa is 2006.It was valid for two years but I used it just once spending just 7days.
In April 2008 hubby and I applied again and we were both given.By then I was pregnant though not visibly. The VO was really nice and the only thing close to pregnancy that he mentioned was when he asked if we had any plans to make use of any medical aids in the Us and we said no.
September 2008 I embarked on my journey to the U.S. and hubby was to join me some weeks later.Thinking I was doing myself a favor,I travelled with BA but made the massive mistake of having BWI as my point of entry.
The immigration lady had stamped me in only for me to pick up my luggage and then this border control guy called me aside.
See interrogation! He harassed me ehn!told me he was tired of liars coming into his country and spoiling it.made me lift and open my two heavy bags then he personally wheeled them away saying I was going back that same night to Lagos.he was breathing fire and brimstone.
Visibly upset and repeatedly cursing under his breath. He tried to call all the numbers he saw with me hoping something fishy would turn up but none did.
After all the drama, puffing up and down, his immediate superior who didn't even talk to me asked him to return my bags and let me in.
There was a catch though!
I was given just 3wks to spend as that was what my ticket stated.Thanking God,I wheeled my stuff out of the airport. This was some two hours after the plane landed.
To cut a very long story short,I comsidered going to the uk and coming back to the U.S. so maybe I would get 6months this time.
Instead I went online and found out I could actually ask for an extension of stay in the us.This I did and I was granted the four months I requested for.I had my baby, came home and still travelled with the same visa a year later.I have since renewed my visa and there was no ish afterwards.I even had to take a payment plan at some point and didn't finish payment until my baby was almost a year!
All this not withstanding,I have had a seamless entry to the U.S. and an easy visa renewal again.
By Gods grace,I will be traveling soon to have baby 2!but I'm not going near BWI ever again!!!!

Hello house.I have a question.
Hubby"s assessment is ongoing as I type and was due to be ready by Friday. We however got a mail from his assessment body that one of the courses(accounting 1) in his syllabus is missing from his transcript.they want an explanation for that omission since accounting 11 has been completed and is included.
This is of course some mistake from his school as they failed to include it in his transcript but it's a course that he studied in school.
Any suggestions on how to resolve it(going to the school to get another transcript which might or might not reflect this course is something we don't want to consider just yet cos for all we know they didn't include it cos they couldn't find)

Hello Vicjustice

I have gone through the thread must commend the good job your doing here, I have also taken time to go through the other thread on child delivery in USA (that is my interest). Now I need your advise on the financial sides.

Please note that I have put things in place to cater for all the expenses.
Hospital charges and all others approximately $8000
Travels and others N500,000

My wife will be travelling alone, as we do not have enough funds for the two of us and also believes it shows some ties to home country. I work with a consulting firm and have a take home pay of N200,000 my wife works as a contract staff with an american child care organisation in Nigeria and has a take home of N150,000.
Our savings account has about N1. million, and both salaries account has in flows and out flows and currently at about nN100k each. we would be getting additional funding for the trip from external family(however we do not intend to state this in our application). My fear is that the deposit my be seen at lodgement if deposited before the visa interview

Do you advise we proceed with this plan ? or how best should we go along with it. In your analysis note that I have a property in my mum's name, my wife has been in the US before about 2 years ago for a short course. I look forward to your resonse
hello sbaba.
i had my baby in the us too and would like to offer advice as much as i can.i also had limited funds as at the time of application and didnt say i was going to have a baby(like your wife,it wasnt my first visa too).i ended up taking a payment plan, paid all my bills(over a year) and had my visa renewed some two months ago.

I need to ask,why does your family have to know bout your girls" past?
Can't you just marry her and if they find out,so be it.I know of a lady who married a divorcee with two kids and no one in her family until 3years into the marriage.
After the initial surprise, everyone moved on!!
