Yoruba word is an Hausa name given to slaves that were captured in the War that started in the 8th century.

Hugh Clapperton and Richard Lander. (1829).

Kiss the truth.

With that being said.... Why do they call wike mr. Projects. What does he do to get such name.
The word Yoruba is actually derived from the Hausa word Yarin banza meaning deceitful bastard.
PoliticsRe: How Did The Olukumin People Accept A Hausa Derogatory Term As Their Name? by APCHaram: 12:56pm On Sep 01, 2019
Have you always thought about where the word Yoruba originate?? Have you heard many misconception and misapprehension that left you baffled?? That was what got hold of me too so I decided to dig into it.
What is the meaning of Yoruba? Does it have any inclination to our language? This is a thought provoking topic that needs profound reasoning and intense research for better understanding.

It is time we faced the monster that keeps trailing us whom many try to ignore. In Yoruba culture, appellation is often derived from a prerequisite factor or foretelling. For fact telling, some name their child Owolabi hoping the child will bring fortune to the family, another one is that almost all Yoruba towns have their names derived from an event or a factor as illustrated in; Eba-Odan – Ibadan, Abe Okuta Olumo – Abeokuta and Ibi ti Ile ti yo – Oyo and so forth. However, these factors appear not partake in the word Yoruba.

I asked a lot of people to define Yoruba, nobody had a clue so I decided to return to history and I delved into what Yoruba scholars of the past centuries had written. Slowly I began to unravel the mystery of our name.
The first hint I got was from an ordinary search which spouted Yoruba. What does that mean?? I carried on, I moved on to the always ready Yoruba dictionary written by Samuel Ajayi Crowther which defines ‘Yoruba’ as a bastard and deceitful person.

Another came from the one I found on a scholarly written journal of Dr Taiwo Ayanbolu who insisted Yoruba is a name derived from Hausa language which means deceit. He claimed he found the definition at York Museum in England dating to the 19th century.
Before I go further here, I would like to stress how the name came aboard. It has been recorded that the Hausa-Fulani who had been in contact with the Yoruba even before the rise of Oyo Empire had for some reasons chosen to call us Yoruba, or Yaribansa.

Perhaps this might have been a result of Yoruba people’s bargaining skills which often made the Fulani traders fall victim of trade by barter. Another one I stumbled on was narrated by another scholar who said the name Yoruba started protruding during the clash between Yoruba and Fulani that steered the lost of Ilorin to them in the 18th century.

The Igbos had cleansed themselves off ‘Yinmiri’, a name the Hausa-Fulani had technically given to them. The igbos have today refuted Yinmiri to be a derogatory word, however, the reverse is the case for the Yoruba. From findings I have made, Yaribansa is a Fulani word meaning Bastard. An extremely derogatory word in Yoruba discourse.

I read one of Professor Ade Ajayi’s book “Yoruba Warfare in the Nineteenth century” where he insisted that during the indirect rule era, it was necessary for the imperialists to give a unique name to the entire towns and people who spoke Yoruba language.

Somehow, they settled for Yoruba. Yoruba is a deviation of Yoruba which the Yoruba people of that century rejected. The Ijebu, Ijesa and Egba rejected this name vehemently but because during the Kiriji war (the Yoruba civil war) where the collapse of Oyo Empire commenced and the signalling factor the imperialists used to prompt the rule over Oyo from covers. The name Yoruba was foisted on Oyo and Ibadan mainly on documents and slowly the name Yoruba was enshrined in our culture and hence, our appellation.

Research shows that the Egba were the last to accept Yoruba as their appellation, reason coming from facts emanating from the first newspaper published in Yorubaland in 1859, goes: Iwe Iroyin Fun Ara Egba Ati Yoruba. This indicates that the Egba refused the name Yoruba as at 1859.

Furthermore, I have read the Odu Ifa and I have familiarised myself with many Ogede Ofo, Iwure and Ewi of the past generations and I have never heard where we were referred to as Yoruba, rather, as Omo Kaaro Ojiire, Omo Oduduwa or Omoluabi.

I am penning this for us to know the origin of the word Yoruba, it is a bitter pill to swallow especially now that the name has travelled far and wide, should we try to augment our appellation Yoruba? certainly too late to make any sort of modification. We might as well just carry on dealing with it.

PoliticsThe Origins Of The Jihadist Hate Of Wike by APCHaram(op): 11:53am On Sep 01, 2019
For daring to tell Benue people to defend themselves from the murderous caliphate jihadist army.

Gov Wike urges Benue people to defend themselves against bloodthirsty herdsmen

Governor Nyesom Wike has added his voice to the call on Benue people to defend themselves against attacks by bloodthirsty herdsmen to stop the unending killings in the state.
The Governor who spoke yesterday when he led a high-powered delegation to commiserate with the people and government of Benue state over the new year day killings in Guma and Logo local government areas that claimed over 70 lives decried the level of killings in the state.
Wike who also visited the graveside of the slain persons also made a donation of N200m to assist the government cater for the needs of the displaced and affected persons. According to him “We came to commiserate with the government and people if Benue state because when you have a brother who has problems you must identify with him. “This has nothing to do with party, we are talking about problems that affect Nigeria and us as human beings. ‘The South South and the Middle Belt share one thing in common. Benue is part of the Middle Belt and Rivers is part of the South South and we are known as minorities, but by the special grace of God we are not minorities. “Anybody who has in the last few weeks listened to the electronic media or read the newspapers must urgently come and identity with the people of Benue state even if you hate them. “You must recognise the fact that they have lost lives and you have no choice but to commensurate with them because we cherish live and know what it means to lose loved ones not to talk of when they did not commit any offence. People who were either sleeping or doing one thing or the other to help themselves were killed like cows and ordinary animals. “We just visited the graveside and it is quite touchy, you should take heart God will fight for you. But let me say that God fighting for you does not mean that you will not defend yourself. The problem we Christians have is that we like to misinterpret the Bible. Which says that when you are slapped you will turn the other chick. “Assuming that you don’t have the other chick to turn to. God will only fight for you when you are ready to fight for yourself. “I was shouting this from the onset. I shouted that they were after me and nobody believed. Now they are going everywhere. At this time you must stay and identify with your people. Don’t stay away from your people because they will be your foot soldiers. They will be your police. This is the time to look inward knowing that you have no other but Benue people. “For us we should know that what affects a state affect others. This is the time for us leaders to put our heads together to fight this crime. “There is no way anybody can justify the unnecessary loss of one life not to talk of many lives. Whether the Governor is doing right or wrong that is not enough justification for the killings. “Moreover the Governor has not done anything wrong. So the people of Benue state must rally round the Governor because he needs you now. “Though we are not of the same party so I am not here to condemn the APC as a party, no. But they know that I know that they are not doing well. “I am here to say what happened to you has affected me. They were killing my people before and I cried for help and they say I was playing politics. Now see deaths everywhere, nobody is free again. “People don’t seem to know the level of the magnitude of injury inflicted on the people of Benue. 73 persons at a go, leaving orphans and widows behind. “The country must sit down and proffer solutions of how this menace must be tackled. “We must not engage in blame game but sit down and accept that we have failed and something must be done. If we don’t do that, it means that we are not serious. “Though the unfortunate incident has happened, we must not take the laws into our hands, but that does not mean that if you see an armed robber coming to your house you should run. You must defend yourself when you see an armed robber coming. That is not taking laws into your hand. “If someone knocks on your door at 2am do you kneel down and ask God to help you?. It is my house, so I will ensure that I prepare myself. “Today people have been rendered homeless with unnecessary IDPs everywhere. We are supporting you with N200million to help the government buy drugs, food and other essential items for the affected people. Though I must acknowledge that this support will not bring back the lives of those killed or property destroyed but it will assist in a little way to lessen the burden of the government. I know what your government is passing through. “I know Governor Ortom is a man of peace, I’m also a man of peace but be peaceful and watchful as well. We must keep our eyes open. “Even this our visit today may create problems for you. That is the problem we are having in Nigeria, everything is politics. You cannot go and symphysis with a colleague. I’m sorry if I have created any problems for you by my visit. I did not bring problems but assuming they say I brought problems, I’m sorry.” Reacting on the comments by the Police Force Public Relations Officer who referred to Governor Ortom as a drowning man, Governor Wike said “first of all I must condemn that particular attack, I don’t see how a Governor would be referred to as a drowning man. I’m expecting the Governor’s Forum to react to that statement by the Force Public Relations Officer. “It is very unfortunate that an elected Governor would be described to be drowning. It’s very unfortunate, and it is only in this type of our democracy that you will hear that kind of statement. “I expect that the chairman of the Governor’s Forum to call an emergency meeting and the issue will be discussed. The problem I have is that when we see issue that affects the nation we start playing party politics. “This issue goes beyond party politics, it doesn’t matter if the Governor is PDP or APC. Once you get into office you are no longer talking of the person but the office. “All of us are Governors and if you say today it is Benue Governor and nothing is done, Tomorrow it may be Zamfara Governor. So let’s not play politics but come out to speak out on issues that affect this nation. “You know that I have had issues in my state as well with security agencies and people know my position. And I have always said that once something affect one state don’t look at it as being a PDP or APC state. “Today this is a Governor of the APC and because it has happened to him and no body wants to speak out. But for me what you see affecting Benue today has affected me before and if nothing is done it will affect other states and the governors will not be united when people come with one thing or the other to divide the forum. “I’ve told them that they have the tendency of dividing us. Let’s speak with one voice and tell Mr. President that what we see going on in this country is not acceptable. “Of course you know everybody will want to be the favorite child of the President. But for me I will always speak the truth because of God and because my salvation will not come from man. ” On his part, Governor Samuel Ortom who lauded his Rivers State counterpart for the visit and cash donation lamented the the state was still under the siege of herdsmen who were occupying parts of the state. He stated that we would not relent to encourage the people to adopt every lawful means to defend themselves from the invaders insisting further that the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore should be arrested for allegedly masterminding the killings. “Today they have taken over part of our land and converted our farm produce as feeds for their cow, that is the position we have found ourselves.” Ortom added. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/02/gov-wike-urges-benue-people-defend-bloodthirsty-herdsmen/

Why has Malami refused to disclose who signed on behalf of NNPC? Because it will show clearly that the P&ID scam which they were able to pull with a forged Yar'adua signature just as Baru did with his $50bn scam pipeline contract with a forged Buhari signature was meant to be a last minute heist by the cabal when Yar'adua's condition had deterioted beyond hope.

Alison Maduake was not the minister of Petroleum when this contract was signed. She was minister of Mines and Solid Minerals under Yar'adua and was only appointed minister of Petroleum by Jonathan in July 2010.

I have said severally without number that the only way northern Muslims have any relevance in Nigeria's political discussion is their constant threat to unleash violence on non Muslims and southerners in their midst.

Since 1945 the north has been deploying their vagrant almajiri mob to unleash terror on non Muslims in their region to blackmail the rest of the nation.

Just look at how they responded to IPOB activities by threatening violence and evictions on Igbos residing in the north.

They used BH to frustrate Jonathan a southern Christian out of office and they deploy their fulani herdsmen under full support and protection of Nigerian Security forces to force their Ruga madness on the south and middle belt.
Let all Christians both indigenes and southerners relocate from the core north and let's see how they will be killing and rioting on themselves and from there see if we will give a rat's ass.

Did anybody down south give a damn about the Fulani vs Awusa Muslim war in Zamfara?

They can start their nonsense in Yoruba land and get their Yoruba Muslim lackeys to side with them just as they did during Afonja's time and I won't be bothered either. But given that the Better South is 99.9999999999% Christian they know that they can never ever try their jihadist bullsh!t here.

Prominent Niger Delta agitator, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, a Muslim, took to Facebook to slam the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike for demolishing the mosque at Trans-Amadi area of Port Harcourt and allegedly declaring the state a Christian state.

“You should be ashamed of yourself… Rivers state is not a Christian state, it will never be a Christian state, you are not even a Christian,” he told the Rivers governor.

Governor Wike had allegedly demolished Rainbow town central mosque located at the Trans-Amadi, off School Road, Rainbow Estate, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State.

But the governor during his visit on Monday to the location, denied demolishing any mosque in the state, he described the information as “false, orchestrated by mischief makers to create disaffection in the state.”

The Rivers state governor also said that people erected illegal structures at the location without approval from the state government for any structure to be erected there.

In refuttal, Mr Dokubo said “Wike claims that there was no mosque. If there is no mosque, why did you go there?”

“I am a member of the congregation of the Trans-Amadi central mosque. That is where I pray with my family…. Wike claiming that there was no mosque is a lie. He is lying and you know Wike you are lying… We legally acquired the land for the mosque…” Dokubo said.

He said that the land for the mosque was legally acquired from Chief Edward Sotonye Amadi. He also shared documents to back his claim.

Dokubo accused Wike of bowing down and sponsoring the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, a Muslim, with the money of meant for Rivers people, but “cowardly taking out his hatred against these people on Rivers Muslims.”

“You use our money to build an interdominational Christian centre, our collective resources, we did not talk. We have every right, equal rights, and some of us have contributed to the betterment of Rivers state, to the resources that you have at your disposal,” he said.

Dokubo said that the governor has no right to dictate what religion the people of Rivers state should follow. Stressing that there are several families of Rivers state who are active congregational members of the demolished mosque.

It's obvious that Gov. Wike's hatred for Islam can not be denied, apart from coming publicly on several occasions to declare the state a Christian State, I will be glad to state some of the actions of the governor that suggested his total dislike for Islam and the Muslim community in Rivers State.

1. It is a tradition in the State for Christians and Muslims to pay Christmas and Sallah visit respectively to governor in Rivers State since Odili era to felicitate with the number one citizen of the State; This isn't unique to Rivers as other states also also celebrate Muslims/Christains festivities in their own unique way, e.g. former Gov. Aregbesola offered free train rides for Muslims and Christians during festivities without discrimination. Wike stopped visitation by the Muslim community only, I repeat Muslims only are not welcome for Sallah visit again.

2. Starving of Muslims Pilgrims Board of fund: do not get me wrong, I'm not talking sponsorship for Hajj. If you're a Muslim in Rivers State even with your money you can not embark on trip to Saudi Arabia for Hajj except through Edo, Imo, Crossriver, or any other neighboring State.
In fact, other States generate income through the board through money paid by the pilgrims, Wike has refused the State board any of the opportunities just to frustrate the well to do Muslims in the State.
IN THE WHOLE STATES OF THE FEDERATION, ONLY RIVERS STATE CITIZENS CAN NOT GO TO HAJJ THROUGH THEIR STATE, WHILE CHRISTIANS GO JERUSALEM EVEN FROM ZAMFARA.

3. Demolition of Trans-Amadi Central mosque: It's absurd, unreasonable and out of logic for Wike to say that the building foundation, which has so far gulped ₦38m to erect a two storey building in a terrain like Rivers State is not a structure.
More irrational is the fact that he stand on the said foundation to address press, could Wike stand on any ground in that area without foundation, only people who knows the area can answer my question.

Only in Rivers State will a governor come to the public to declare a State to be a Christian State. Even in places like Katsina State where 99% of population are Muslims, I have never heard of such declaration.

Katsina Govt To Demolish 99 Year Old ECWA Church
Kastina State Urban and Regional Planning Board (KSURPB) intends to demolish the 99 years old ECWA Church Headquarters Mission in Mataazu in Mataazu Local Government Area of Katsina State claiming that the church has no approved development permit. The plan, according to Katsina state government says it intends to build a road through the middle of the ancient church compound which contains school, the old church premises, and offices.

A memo conveying the ultimatum entitled: “Stop Notice” from the Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board, signed by one Hussain A. Lawal (Development Control Manager) for General Manager dated January 6, 2015, sent to ECWA Trustees accused the church of building without the necessary legal requirements of planning permission from KSURPB or in violation of such permission.

The questions bothering everyone's mind are:

1. How can a 99 yr old church built before Nigeria existed as a nation possess building permit?

2. Katsina landscape is typical sahel arid region, open countryside with enough open and free land which affords for easy detour of this road. Why construct a road straight through such ancient building?

THE President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor; ECWA President, Rev. Jeremiah Gado and President of Tarayyar Masihiyawan Nijeria (Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri Christians), General Ishaku Ahmed Dikko (retd), have criticised the planned demolition of over 99 years old ECWA Church Headquarters Mission in Mataazu in Mataazu Local Government Area of Katsina State by the Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board (KSURPB).

They vowed to resist the action, which they described as “pure persecution of Christians.”

The Board had issued a three-day demolition notice to the church just as the state government was said to be preparing to construct a road that will pass through the church compound which also has a school and staff quarters.

A member of ECWA church told journalists recently in Abuja that the planned demolition was generating tension that could cause a religious crisis in the state.

But a memo conveying the ultimatum entitled: “Stop Notice” from the Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board, signed by one Hussain A. Lawal (Development Control Manager) for General Manager dated January 6, 2015, sent to ECWA Trustees accused the church of building without the necessary legal requirements of planning permission from KSURPB or in violation of such permission.

The memo obtained by journalists reads in part: “You are hereby advised to stop all the development work at Matazu ECWA Church. It is believed that you are proceeding with development of the site without the necessary legal requirements of planning permission from Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board or in violation of such permission.

“If you are developing the site without planning permission, or in contravention of conditions of such permission granted, you are committing an offence. In receipt of this notice, you should stop such development work with immediate effect and present a formal application for planning permission to the Development Control immediately.

“Failure to act within three days of this notice may result in further action by the Board. This notice will cease to have effect only after the issuance of planning permission by the Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board.”

Reacting to the development, Oritsejafor, said: “I am very upset about this; it is very unacceptable because this is pure religious persecution.”

Meanwhile, the indigenous Hausa/Fulani Christians in Matazu local council have written to Governor Ibrahim Shema appealing for a re-visitation of the proposal for a road to be constructed through ECWA Mission Compound by the council.

Spokesperson of the group, Dr. Yunusa M. Matazu said: “The proposed road will only succeed in dividing the compound into two as the compound is not a thoroughfare as such leading to nowhere.”
