EducationQueen's College Drama: Between Morality And Legality by Apeshy101(op): 9:44am On Nov 20, 2019
I woke up this morning to a very disheartening video of student, her mother in visible altercation with the school security men of Queen's College, Lagos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21uPScpNmKc

The drama started when a security man turned away this female student for appearing in make-up and eyelashes.

The female student's mother got involved and this led to some kind of altercation with the security man. Both mother and daughter were sent away with threats that the girl will no longer be allowed back in the school.

Is it proper for a secondary school female student in school like this?

Does it have any implication on moral standards?

Was the secxurity man right in sending her away?

Was the mother right in getting involved in the matter insisting that her daughter not be sent back home?

Should the management of Queen's College rescind its decision to expel the female student?

Does the matter have anything to do with people's rigthts and freedom of choices?

As it stands now, what lessons can we learn from the this incident?

Clampdown On Illegally Orphanages Continues As Commissioner for Women Affairs, Uncoveres Child Labour Camp;

In continuation of the Clampdown on illegal community children homes in the state, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has this time around uncovered a suspected labour camp where children age between two to fifteen are kept in a filthy environment and subjected to back breaking farm work at poultry, fishery and piggery, in a home registered as orphanage.

The home located at Enugu Agidi was discovered during the ongoing inspection of orphanages in Anambra State by the taskforce, led by the Honorable Commissioner.

It was discovered that, the children numbering about 23, were brought to the center by their parents with the hope they are getting education. The honorable commissioner, on seeing the unconducive and filthy environment where the children are kept, subsequently arrested the home manager and rescued the children who gave the names of their communities and pleaded to be reunited with their families.

The team finally visted other homes in Nise, Amawbia, and three others at Awka, made recommendations on where improvements are needed.

CrimeAnambra Government Inspects Homes, Uncovers Baby Factories(photos) by Apeshy101(op): 10:41pm On Nov 14, 2019
Fight Against Child Trafficking: Anambra Government Inspects Homes, Uncovers Baby Factories.
Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has uncovered two baby factories in Onitsha and Obosi, during an inspection of orphanage homes, in her efforts to stem the scourge of child trafficking in the state.

The inspection which was led by the Honorable Commissioner, in conjunction with the Police, DSS and Civil Defence, including the ministry staff, saw the taskforce visiting community children homes in Ogidi, Nkpor, Obosi and Onitsha, with the aim of inspecting the general environment, water sources, hygiene and operational licence of the facilities.

A grim discovery was however made at Obosi, when the team uncovered a room in an orphanage where two pregnant young girls were locked up and fed in an inhuman manner.

Lady Mezue, immediately rescued the girls, whom one among them was severely malnourished, and subsequently arrested the home manager for further investigation.

The inspection continued to Onitsha where some arrests were made and a baby suspected to be set for trafficking was also rescued by the team.

Users from the US and other tier1 countries have a much higher purchasing power than Nigerian users. This is the most basic explanation but there are more I could go into but in summary that is it.

Previously, Brave paid all publishers at a flat rate of $5 (in BAT) for a every confirmed referral made by the publisher.

On 25th September, 2019, I got a mail from Brave informing me of new changes made to publishers’ referral payment taking effect from 1st Oct, 2019.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/10565409_k1_jpeg0cd12d1fc43ff41f9ad4d8eae9ade860
The new updated payment rate affected Nigerian publishers badly as the new rate for Nigeria and other African countries went down to $1 where as US and other countries went up as high as 7$.

Fast forward to November, I got my earning for October but this time, my payment was 5X below what I usually received.
So publishers and economists in the house, could this be caused by our week economy/currency?
What is the basis for deciding this?

If you have been affected by this policy before, kindly share your experience(s).
