@GAZZUZZ , pls, I need ur help. I usually have trouble starting my Primera 99 P11 only in the mornings. It just wouldn't start. I ve called my auto electrician to check it but he told me I'm not turning the ignition very well as the battery and every other thing seems fine, yet the problem persists. A friend advised me to depress my accelerator twice before turning the ignition switch and this seems to work. Pls what might probably be wrong ?

i have been experiencing that same exact issue on my p11, 1997. i couldn't scan cos my port seems to be obd1. Mechanic says its bad fuel, but i don't think so. gazzuzz is most likely right. its likely going to be temp sensor of the coolant, in my opinion. otherwise, why is it that the issue only comes up when the engine has been run, but doesn't happen when engine is cold like in the early mornings.

both brands are good n reliable. cars are simply about maintenance. a honda of same year will most likely have a better interior, but will require more attention in terms of maintenance.

One is the overall mileage of the car, 200k while is the other is set to read short distances, in most cars it will not read more that 999km or miles once reset.

does it mean it won't read long distances? cos i have never really travelled with it in my 14months driving experience.....can it be reset without resetting the overall mileage??

I'm thinking fuel delivery related: weak fuel pump, (if it uses a carburettor could be engine overheating and evaporating the fuel from the lines) . Other things like defective coolant temp sensor can also cause this.

Its a fuel injector car, mechanic says its caused by bad fuel. Should I just keep ignoring it or be concerned

At cold start early in the morning my own car (nissan primera) will start normal. Afterwards, if I try to start it, it will be going off. I will have to pedal down the throttle a little for it to start. What could be the fault??

the car is for European market and it eobd compliant .EOBD standardisation implementation didn't start until around 2001

I guess that's the case. I ran the VIN, car was assembled in Spain June 1997... Too bad I will have to look for obd1.
Anyways special thanks to colosus for his offer of free scan though he only has Obd2 scanner.

Seems funny to me that Nissan would feature OBD I port on a 1997 car. Compliance to OBD II started in 1996. OP are you sure its 1997?

I tried to have my car scanned but found out that the scanner plug was different from the port of my car ..

My car port is to the left while the scanner port is the right.
Question ;
1. Is it that the scanner brought is not the right one?
Or
2. Is there a different cable that we can substitute with the one that is on the scanner to successful scan it.
