who is discussing with who? You? on this empty thing you wrote? You must think yourself an intellectual.

so i take it that when GEJ gets his hand caught in the cookie jar it's all so far fetched and unbelievable? it's just mischief making from disgruntled hacks and we should just chalk it down to bad and irresponsible journalism, right? but funnily enough when ANYBODY else is accused of such crimes then these same sources and journalists are held up as shinning beacons of democracy.

you guys and your selective rationale. make your mind up and stick to it. otherwise leave me alone please.

oh, and i don't fancy myself as an intellectual. i do think i'm smarter than you though.

and it should read: who is discussing with whom.

I have noticed with increasing frustration the manner in which a number of posters have taken to debating these presidential elections. While I am aware of the nature of democracy and welcome pluralism on this forum I am becoming saddened at the level of debate. Even though most of us enjoy the odd bit of banter here and there, nowadays the majority of posts inevitable end up in a immature and sensationalist fight that is best left for the schoolground. For example, the usual debate nowadays goes a little something like this:

someone 1: GEJ is heaven sent. he is the new nigeria. we must follow him whatever o!!

someoneelse1983: but where's your proof? how do we know he is the messiah? i'm not sure if we can trust him given recent revelations.

someone 1: but he's honest and humble. and even if he isn't that experienced at least he's so much better than these horrible past leaders who have stolen billions and billions and billions and billions and billions of, blah, blah, blaaaaaaaaaah

now it is at this point that i usually give up on the debate because, as some very erudite person pointed out earlier, there a few "battered wives"  grin on here who are "only in it to win arguments in such pettishly childish ways, rather than actually having sincere and objective discussions where ever Jonathan is concerned".

but actually it's about time a few home truths were pointed out: jonathan is not a messiah; he's not special; he's not the fresh, new face of nigeria; he's not even a good politician. HE IS JUST ANOTHER CORRUPT NIGERIAN. he has surrounded himself with the same gang of people who have gorged themselves on the federal coffers for the past 15 odd years. he is part of the same political party that is known for institutionalising corruption and rigging elections. he is simply a PRODUCT OF THE SYSTEM. And don't just take my word for it, read the section bellow:

Please not that I didn't bold any text because I believe the WHOLE article is relevant. Sorry for its length.

This memo seeks to achieve three objectives. First is to demonstrate that most public office holders in Nigeria commit perjury-that is lying under oath. Secondly, the article aims to show that the Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan also lied in declaring his assets, which in the laws governing the Code of Conduct, is a punishable offence. Thirdly, the write-up intends to mention some of the undeclared assets of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan- a fact known by many Nigerians but , which have been downplayed because of his humility.

Dear progressive Nigerians, when the duo of ailing Umaru Musa Yar’Adua took office on May 29, 2007, as President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, respectively, they swore to uphold the constitution and rule of law. Accordingly, President Yar’Adua demonstrated that resolve by the public declaration of his assets and liabilities. This was quite unlike that of the Acting President Dr. Goodluck, Jonathan who was pressured by public opinion and the media to declare his assets in a manner calculated to deceive Nigerians and well-orchestrated to hide the truth from Nigerians.

Not long after the Acting President declared his assets, some media organizations condemned the way and manner the exercise was carried out. The first signs of deceit emerged on Saturday, August 11, 2007 when some overzealous operatives of the State Security Service (SSS). SSS officers, obviously acting on the orders of the Dr Jonathan launched a vicious attack on Spynet magazine and tore through lockers, files and computers belonging to the media outfit. It was an irony that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who the media made from the shadows of his erstwhile boss, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, could be part of a plot to antagonize the press. But that was not his first attempt censoring the press. As Governor, he launched a major assault against Izon Link, a local tabloid which was supposedly sponsored by Timi Alaibe. “This assault on press was perceived to be an attempt by the Acting President to cover the truth”, the Spynet reported. Those harassed at SPYNET include Richard Ogbage, Godsidi, Frank and others. These people are still alive to testify.

It should be noted that in the maiden edition of the Spynet Magazine the lead story titled; “The Face of a Fraud?”, “detailed how the Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, former Bayelsa State Governor, mismanaged the State as Chief Executive. The story however did not go down well with Jonathan and his Committee of Friends especially Chief A.J.Turner. What followed was a well-planned invasion of the magazine and the unlawful arrest of the staffers of the media outfit. Although the mater is now in court, Spynet are still counting their loses. This action portrayed him as  an enemy of the mass media

The second event that prompted the investigation of the assets of the Acting President was the October 21 st edition of The Sunday Sun, where one Mr. Collins Eselemo – Grand Patron of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and President General of the Coastal Mandate – a coalition of socio-cultural groups in the Niger Delta Region raised some issues questioning the integrity of the Acting President. The Coalition leader claimed that “the Acting President lied in his declaration of assets and threatened that he would incur the wrath of the Ijaw Youth Council if he does not open up”. Prince Eselemo also threatened to provide a comprehensive list of the property of the Acting President and to prepare a show down with him. Ijaw Leaders prevailed on him not to wash the dirty linen of their kinsmen.

Dear Progressive Nigerians, asset declaration for a highly placed person like the Acting President is like swearing an affidavit and if the process is falsified, it can be likened to perjury – which is a criminal offence. From the perspective of the constitution as per section 172 of the 1999 constitution” A person in the public service of the Federation shall observe and conform to the code of conduct” Further, Section 140 (1) states that “A person elected to the office of President (including the Acting President) shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed in this constitution and he has taken and subscribed to the oath of allegiance and the oath of office prescribed in the seventh schedule of this constitution”. Further, asset declaration is not just an indispensable ritual but a mechanism for sanctioning public office holders who acquire wealth through fraudulent means while in office. Since public servants spend public money, asset declaration is more of a moral responsibility than a constitutional obligation.

In another bizarre twist, when Chief Timipre Sylva assumed office as Governor of Bayelsa State, there were wide spread speculations that the Bayelsa State was heavily indebted. Although Governor Sylva in a press briefing cleared the air by saying that his predecessor did not leave behind any debts, there are now discordant reports to that effect. Such indications emerged clearly at a recently concluded Budget Retreat organized by the Government of Bayelsa State where the Commissioner of Finance & Budget stated in unambiguous terms that the State has been reeling under a debt of more than N28 billion. If this assertion is true the question then arises: Was the debt inherited from the Goodluck Jonathan administration? Certainly yes, but Sylva was too loyal to expose his predecessor. Is that revelation so grievous as to prompt the harassment of the Timipre Sylva administration? Is that what should prompt the spurious allegations that Governor Sylva voted N500million to stop Jonathan from becoming Acting President? My Dear Progressive Nigerians would certainly decode the political undercurrent behind the action of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

As a man who could vouch for the integrity of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, I regarded his critics as detractors, who envied his rising political profile. I therefore took on the challenge of conducting an independent investigation. Sadly, however, the investigating  showed that Dr. Jonathan could not really stand on a moral high ground to uphold the rule of law or the Constitution for that matter.

The results of our investigations are startling but some of them are still inconclusive because the investigator could not have access to certain vital documents. The Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has much more property and assets that were not declared. Our informant who preferred anonymity said that the most annoying project that served as a drainpipe in the Jonathan administration was the Gas Turbine project awarded to an indigenous company owned by an Ogbia Woman. The initial contract value was N4 billion Naira but the sum was later reviewed upwards to N8 billion. Two things were wrong with the contract. First, the award did not follow Due Process. Secondly, rather than buy new turbines, the contractor merely refurbished the broken parts of the old turbine. Experts estimated that not up to N1 billion was spent while the other N7billion went into the pockets of the two parties.

Again, one Moses Otazi who served as Dr. Goodluck’s Chief of Staff is believed to have stolen about N150 million from Government House and hid the money at Ewoi his wife’s village. It was reported that thieves broke into the house and made away with the money. A young man from Otuoke who works with the Ministry of Health confirmed the incident and said some of the suspects were even arrested, but when the incident got to the ears of the Acting President, he promptly intervened and ordered that the matter be settled at the Village level rather than give him negative publicity. Our chat with an operative of the SSS at Yenagoa yielded no tangible results as the plain clothed officer was evasive and not prepared to mention details. He however confirmed that such an incident was reported. The said Otazi is believed to be one of the principal beneficiaries of the loots in Creek Haven during the Jonathan administration. Because of the unscrupulous manner Moses Otazi handled the matter, the Acting President refused to take him along to Abuja.

The Jonathan administration also huge sums of money for non-existent rice farms. One of such farms is said to have been at Elebele estimated at N300 million. Beyond that the Acting President owns three multi-million Naira hotels. One of them is adjacent to Chief. DSP Alamieyeseigha’s residence in Yenagoa. Another gigantic hotel owned by the Acting President is situated after Commissioner’s quarters along Elebele Road near AIT office in Yenagoa. There are unconfirmed reports too that the Acting President owns a building estimated at N1 billion at Victoria Island, Lagos. The aforementioned property were not declared to the Code of Conduct Bureau as Assets owned by the man. This is in addition to the massive Otueke Hotel owned by Dame Patience Jonathan.

Dear progressive Nigerians, it is also a true that the Acting President has demonstrated some quotient of leadership, humility and as a loyal party man. I particularly envy his humility and consider it an advantage that is likely to boost his political profile even before he became Acting President. But it does appear that the Acting President humility to cover-up skeletons in his cupboard. If all these choice property are owned by Dr. Goodluck Jonathan - the Acting President of Nigeria, then he was more than N30 billion Naira richer than he had earlier declared. I do not intend to begrudge his wealth because his humble  disposition.

Dear, progressive Nigerians, I acknowledge the fact that the Acting - President wears the veil of immunity, such allegations if not clarified with cast doubts as to government’s intention to wage a total war against corruption. This is one of the reasons crusade against corruption and the drive to entrench transparency and accountability is very difficult. The battle has to start from the Presidency down to the Local Government Chairmen.

People at the top echelon of power and authority must tell Nigerians the truth so we can collectively pursue the rule of law and entrench sustainable justice in the land. Dear progressive Nigerians, the aim of this article would have been achieved if the Acting President declares his assets now and compel all the new Ministers to do so. The Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should ensure that he who must come to equity must come with clean hands.

we have been here before, no? how long ago was it that they were claiming the 50k bakare "bribe" didn't take place? yet they still want us to believe them; they've been caught with their trousers round their ankles too many times and it's really starting to turn people off the self-styled "anointed one".

but here's the funny thing; the real kicker: THEY EVEN HANDLE A CRISIS REGARDING GEJ SUPPOSED ADMISSION OF INEXPERIENCE IN AN INEXPERIENCED MANNER  grin  grin

they are too quick to deny; too brazen in their denials; and too hasty with their choice of words. they belittle the office of the president every time Niboro makes a statement. if really there were no truth to this then why engage in such an incomplete and ambiguous public denial? why take such a hostile and defensive approach? they behave as if they themselves know they don't belong in that office and they are scared they are about to get caught out at any moment. kinda like tom hanks in BIG. its actually quite funny. their PR is awful.

Great tactical move. I gotta admit I'm impressed with this quote. I didn't think GEJ could be this cunning (knowing the quote actually portrays him in a good light with the whole "I'm not a politician I'm a regular guy but I'm doing this to save this country" angle) or this honest. I was more neutral before but now I think GEJ is simply more intelligent than anybody else in the running and consequently better equipped to actually change things. We should remember that no intelligent person has ever been head of state in Nigeria. Just mediocrities.

Excellent move overall. Let those dumb enough to think he was confessing some sort of supposed inadequacy wallow in their own misplaced hate.

GEJ is far from the sophisticated manipulator that you wish he was. instead he is a walking talking clown. they guy is so petrified of saying anything wrong that he has stopped speaking to the media completely. in case you haven't noticed it is always his "policy spokesman said this" or his "campaign manager said that"; seriously, when was the last time you actually heard the guy speak? and i bet you that even then it was scripted.

the guy is a so out of his depth that it's somewhat sad to see him struggling with basic doggie paddle inorder to keep his head above water. didn't you see the baboon on CNN? to think this is nigeria's "first citizen".

i think you'll find that they are extremely scared about the potential ramifications of this event. as you can tell by their amateur denial. speaking of which, do you not remember the last time they tried to deny something?? that one didn't end to well for them and neither will this.

you're the type of person who posts on the "Wikileaks Cables: Shell's Grip On Nigerian State Revealed" thread and blames all the horrible, mean western companies for all our country's woes; you are arent you?
Politics / Re: Goodluck Jonathan: "I Dont Have Good Political Experience" by appletango: 6:02pm On Dec 09, 2010
i have read every single word written on this thread and i must admit that i had hoped for a better understanding of politics from some of you so called "political observers"; i should have know better. some of the comments are unbelievably naive. here are some of my favorite "observations": "robbin sander commended him and hint on his genuineness", "the less Nigerian political experience you have, the better", "GEJ as displayed in many many ways that he is a true man and not desperate for power", "That released transcript makes him look like a hero and patriot, imo", "Now he has gain more experience and of course we all started from some where either with less experience or not at all." "I [Goodluck Jonathan] am only an Ordinary Nigerian found on the street by God and positioned to serve my people", and "U are not chosen to do something or represent some1 because u are the most qualified but due to God's favour."

it seems as if a lot of you have no concept of what constitutes being a good President, or what constitutes being a good leader. you have become so wrapped up in zoning, tribalism, religion, etc, that you fail to see the wood from the trees. so let me break it down to you in a manner in which Nigerians understand:

think of this country as a company. a large company with an annual turnover of $168b (nigeria gdp 2009). now to put things into perspective chevron has a turnover of $273bb; shell's $287b. now the President of a country is its CEO. he is the person responsible for all of his employees, he is responsible for their welfare, their working conditions and making sure they get paid on time. he is also responsible for the fortunes of the company's shareholders; he needs to make sure that the company makes enough money so that the price of their shares increases and also that they get paid their yearly dividends. if you look at the head of these two oil giants (John S. Watson and Peter Voser respectively) you will see that these man have considerable working experience. when they were appointed to their positions they had to go through a rigorous interview process. while honesty and sincerity are valuable and commendable attributes for any person seeking positions of importance I can assure you there are other characteristics that are given greater value: leadership skills, decision making ability, vision, stability, communication skills, multi-tasking, composure, insight, etc. Now ALL of these skills are obtained through many many years of experience. Baring in mind Voser had 22 years at Shell before he became CEO, Watson had 30 years at Chevron. these are not coincidences; these are good business practices.

now on another thread some of the same guys on here have been complaining about shell's ability to infiltrate the Nigerian government with such ease - and you have the stupidity to wonder why!! can you not see the link between a company which has directors and leaders who are experienced and knowledgeable in their positions of power and a country which seems have to promote politicians who "learn on the job" with the mentality of "let's wait and see."

or let me put it another way, if any of you owned shares in Shell or Chevron then I can guarentee that you would not be so free to promote a weak, inexperienced candidate just because he is honest and sincere. you wouldn't trust him with your company because you'd fear the potential ramifications to your share price and dividends. you'd want somebody who knows the inner workings of the operation; somebody who is tried and tested in positions of extreme pressure; somebody who has the charisma and leadership skills to inspire and motivate those around him. And YET some of you are willing to take that risk with the leader of your country even though the ramifications are far greater than just a weak share price.

surely you want somebody who has the capacity to lead this country? surely you want somebody who has years of working in positions of extreme pressure? Or somebody who has good management or administerial skills? surely you need to inspire unity and safety instead of this uncertainty and division we are getting. surely you must be able to see the logic in that?? And even if YOU don't then there is somebody out there who does:

Politics / Re: It Is Impossible For Jonathan To Win Primaries. Pdp Delegates Explained. by appletango: 1:05am On Dec 08, 2010
marvix:

The OP is highly unintelligent and must be politically naieve to think that the leader of the party would lose the primaries of his party.

The delegates from the north are politicians, just like the govs are, dont forget that it was a northern gov in d person of Gov Babangida Aliyu who said that zoning is not a political right but a political strategy, ponder on those words they should mean a whole lot to discerning individuals and these same northern govs had a vote for or against zoning and those against zoning had a slim victory, this goes to show you how politics is played in the north.

Those of us campaigning for Goodluck are doing so because we want fresh air and new air, most times when u put on the AC in a stuffy room the first air is not all that convenient but u relax because u know that the fresh air is about to be.

Jonathan to me represents a new brand of politics and a new set of political arrangement better than whatever Atiku can offer or any other PDP fellow.

A lot of us want the PDP out, but we dont know how to go about it, the only PDP president that will bow to our wish to leave the stage with his party in the nearest future is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Those of us campaigning for Jonathan have nothing to lose If GEJ loses the primaries because it would boldly mean that the PDP has just stabbed itself in the chest.

That Atiku is in the PDP is because Jonathan allowed it, Jonathan was the leader of the party when Atiku staged his comeback Jonathan could have agreed to allow him return and deny him the waiver that has allowed him to be an aspirant in the PDP, because the PDP constitution is also clear on this for defecting members who choose to return, Jonathan could simply have impressed it on the NEC not to grant waiver, but granting the waiver has made the PDP temporarily stronger.

Jonathan has acted in good faith all along and remember he never disgraced their northern brother out of office during his health travails but instead bid his time and allowed Yaradua a peaceful passing, what even Atiku could not do.

That Atiku flies in and out of this country at will is because Jonathan allows it, that Atiku is contesting for the Presidency is because Jonathan allows it, that the govs of northern Nigeria still retain their seats is because Jonathan allows it, That they can sleep on their beds is because Jonathan allows it and this is a democracy, Jonathan would lose nothing if he loses the primaries or the general elections but we Nigerians are bound to lose more.

It is just simply impossible for Jonathan to lose the PDP primaries, he may not win but he definitely can not lose, can a party exist without his leader, impossibility.

Why are some people even calling on Atiku? what are his life achievements, he served in the customs, what is the customs today, he served as VP what was his impact on the nation, he was incharge of the PTDF and only northerners enjoyed PTDF scholarships while southerners didnot even know about all the scholarships available within the PTDF, sold off the ONNE port to himself, assisted OBJ in killing NITEL, NNPC, PHCN.

Instead of Atiku to win the PDP primaries we may as well consign PDP to history, a man without standing, a man without loyalty to party structures, a man who can walk out of his party when he is frustrated not even because of idealogies.

I know some people will run out to remind me that Ribadu is their man, my take has always been that Ribadu belongs to the future and his time would come naturally after GEJ, if he is impatient men like Sanusi Lamido will go ahead of him and Ribadu will become the Buhari of the future while he watches people he can do better than running things at the presidency.

January is not far, I am very confident that Jonathan would not lose the primaries Atiku would be on the move as soon as Jonathan secures the ticket, this is indeed beautiful for democracy, or does anyone want to make me believe that Atiku can win a free and fair contest in 2011.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! i stopped reading at the highlighted section.

but tell me this, if you guys are really so "fresh and new" why have you started to roll out old political jobbers like tony anenih?? is this really the sort of "fresh and new" approach we are to expect from team gej? i take it a man who abandoned abiola to go and work for abacha is the poster boy for this "fresh and new" campaign? you've also lifted the import ban recently, is this another "fresh and new" idea of yours? and what about the recent upsurge of bombings in the niger delta, are they also part of this "fresh and new" government?? i can't wait for you next "fresh and new" idea!!!

That was 1999.
By 2003, he was fairly in control.
That said, he still needed Atiku's help in 2003

nope. he was rolling around on the floor in 2003. go read your history books young friend.

Gas flaring is the most dangerous form of pollution in the Niger Delta. It is the equivalent of pumping poison into the air people breath:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum_in_Nigeria#Natural_gas_flaring

please never quote wikipedia to me again. the next time you go i'll give you an immediate "F".

flarring is not the most dangerous form of pullution in the niger delta. not even close. the air quality in large industrial cities (lagos, port harcourt, ect) is far worse than the air quality in the oil producing regions of the niger delta. and if people are too silly to avoid "walking into huge balls of fire while they are carrying out their daily tasks then that's too bad for them."

but as i said before i agree with you that it should be stopped but not for the reasons you are stating.

The majority of pollution is due to gas flaring. Who flares gas?

pollution resulting from gas flaring DOES NOT effect the immediate environment. it is therefore a global issue and not a niger delta issue.

Welcome to the man with an oil radar. Olodo.

Are you able to deal with any of these?

as has already been stated, the majority of pollution within the niger delta is a direct result of vandalizing. these acts are committed by local residents in order to engage in illegal bunkering; in order to obtain compensation that is payed out by the FG or oil companies for the resulting environmental damage; or in order to sabotage the countries oil production so as to make a political and ideological point to the country and wider international audience. it's YOUR OWN PEOPLE destroying their backyard and, may i add, usually for financial gain.

you are correct with flaring tho. it is a wasteful and unnecessary practice. however the environmental impact on the immediate area is minimal and is therefore not relevant to the conversation we are having.

I am sure it is these people that flare enough gas to make the ND the Worlds largest single source of green house gases too? Fool.
There are corrupt politicians everywhere, it isn't an ND problem, but a Nigerian one.

but i thought it was just a northern problem.

The opening post is malicious in intent.

It was obvious from the choice of words that objectivity was not displayed in typing those lines.

January is just next month. You'll all be wondering how GEJ did it.

How come this arrangement didnt work for the north in 2003 when it was OBJ versus a handful of northerners.

You must know the way politicians think in this country. For them its not about the north or the south, christain or muslim, as that is only a tactic to be deloyed to achieve set goals. The fight is for the rest of Nigerians on cyberspace and across the states. Its all about interests.

For them, there are only two classes, those in power and the pawns. The pawns get into religious fights, tribal wars and political skirmishes but those in power always look out for their interests

So get that in your head! Its not about tribe or religion but interest. Between GEJ and Atiku, the ticket will go to whoever has the immediate capacity to protect or serve the interests of the delegates. Kapish!

"atiku was caught laundering a stolen 40 billion" just sounds ugly. have you been taking english lessons from your bush auntie again?

First Lady Patience Jonathan on Gold Buying Junket To Dubai and Lebanon

Nigerians the world over are raising furrowed eyebrows over the departure, last night, of Mrs. Patience Jonathan, reportedly for Dubai.  It is her second visit to the United Arab Emirates, where many wealthy people now shop for expensive luxury items; the first was recently, while her husband was serving as “Acting President.”  A source said she would be leaving for Lebanon from Dubai, and that she is known to be interested in buying gold jewelry.
Presidency officials are warily staying away from the sensitive subject of why the new First Lady, who has two money-laundering scandals against her that have yet to be resolved, seems to have discovered a new taste for the Emirates.   One presidency official who requested anonymity described the trip as a “private visit” to Lebanon, not Dubai.

“This is the strangest of visits for Mrs. Jonathan,” a political analyst told Saharareporters in Abuja.  “To begin with, this woman has a legal record and she surely must know that the days of a quiet private visit for her are over.  Second, President Olusegun Obasanjo’s wife died on an operating table in a foreign capital; is Mrs. Jonathan visiting a foreign doctor?  Third, her husband’s predecessor just passed away.  Are these not reasons why someone in her position should be thinking of a low, low profile only weeks after her husband assumed the presidency?”

In August 2006, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized the sum of N104 million from one Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu, an associate of Patience Jonathan. Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court gave EFCC the legal backing to retain the N104 million seized from Mrs. Jonathan and her associate.  Weeks later, in September, the EFCC seized $13.5 million dollars from Mrs. Jonathan, and announced that the seizure followed Mrs. Jonathan’s attempt to launder the money through an associate.  At that time, her husband held sway as Governor of Bayelsa State.

Those cases were never discharged, as her husband became vice-presidential candidate, and then vice-president.  His assuming the presidency and affirming his readiness to combat graft in the country has had many Nigerians wondering whether he will handle the case concerning his wife with nepotism.  Today, as word spread she had left for Dubai, tongues began to wag.

“Nigeria’s first Lady Dame Patience Jonathan may have unknowingly re-opened her money laundering case pending before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by her present trip to Dubai,” the website “destinationnigeria.” commented this afternoon. “Now many Nigerians are wondering what her mission to Dubai at this time of their presidency could be.” At the site, many Nigerians are commenting on the visit, many of them harshly.

Under Yar’Adua, Mrs. Jonathan was largely subdued, as Hajia took control of the presidency, sidelining Mr. Jonathan who was Yar’Adua’s deputy.  Since the death of Yar’Adua two weeks ago, Mrs. Jonathan has unveiled a high profile presence, flagging off events and making speeches.

Interestingly, Dubai authorities last week detained a high profile money launderer, former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, who is now awaiting court hearing for possible extradition to the UK. It is not clear if Mrs. Jonathan would meet with Ibori during her visit to the UAE.

Mrs. Jonathan left for Dubai last night on an Emirates flight after a presidential jet dropped her off in Lagos.  She is being accompanied on her trip by Mrs. Bola Shagaya.

Poor things in cuckoo land! If wishes were horses, beggars will ride.

The best Atiku can muster is a set of kiddies and thugs whose debating skills amount to gutter talk?
No surprises! They are bush people like the thief they follow! Birds of a feather. . . grin

Atiku will be thoroughly disgraced, just like any thief should. He won't even win his state.

is THAT all you've got.

jeez, you guys are really screwed.

don't quit your day job, yeah wink
