1) One barrel of Crude oil = 42gallons or 159 litres

2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed (combined) capacity = 445,000 barrels per day

3) Actual refineries capacity due to ageing equipment = 30% i.e. 133,500 barrels per day.

4) 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres

5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) = 12millions litres

6) It means that even our MORIBOND refineries can actually meet our local consumption need of petroleum.

7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e. Qua Iboe Crude Oil) production;
- Findings / development - $3.5
- Production cost - $1.5
- Refining Cost - $12.6
- Pipeline/transportation - $1.5
- Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69

cool True cost of one litre of petroleum anywhere in Nigeria;
- Total sum cost = $34.8
- 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219
- Naira equiv. 0.219xN160= N35.02k
- Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02

9) Let FGN refute the above composition and if not, they should tell us how they came about N65/litre.

10) Locally refined products cannot be sold at International price.

11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY as there was NONE in the first place.

12) What is LACKING, is the WILL to enforce LAW ON CORRUPTION.

Pleas re-post until it gets to the right quarters for their response;

We still stand a chance as a COUNTRY.

Sports / Aneke Can Be Another Yekeni by araba1(m): 8:01am On Nov 24, 2011
The new gaffer of National team,Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has tipped Nigeria Premier League(NPL), hotshot,Jude Aneke,to be the next fantastic finisher like the legendary Rasheed Yekini.
Keshi, who disclosed this to sports journalists, described Yekini as all-time leading goal scorer for Nigeria with 37 goals and since his exit from the team, no one has met or surpassed his goals record till now.
He revealed that the current form of Kaduna United forward, who scored 20 goals in the just concluded 2010/2011 NPL season, could be a more deadly finisher than Yekini.
According to him“The little I saw of Aneke in training for games against Zambia and Botswana,I was impressed“.
“He is a good striker who knows how to position himself to score goals“, he added.
Keshi however added that the youngster’s game still needs to be polished so as to become ruthless finisher.
“I hope to polish his game and then he could be another Yekini. He may not be as big as Yekini, but he could be much more ruthless finisher than Yekini when taught what to do“,keshi said.
Jude Aneke was a debutant against Zambia when he came on late in the second half of the match.
Keshi therefore noted he is turning his searchlight on the Nigerian league for players rather than always call up a whole squad of players from abroad.

Politics / The Value Of My Vote by araba1(m): 2:30pm On Apr 04, 2011
As the general elections draw closer, politicians are getting desperate to
get more people to cast their votes in their favour.
Last week, I witnessed an amazing drama unfold as a politician tried
frantically to convince my neighbour to cast his vote for a party. When the
politician realized that his effort was getting him nowhere, he decided to use
the power in his pocket. He brought out a bundle of N200 notes and dangled it in
my neighbour’s face, basically the way you would dangle some bait to an animal
you are trying to catch.
“How much is your vote?” he asked, with a deceptive smile on his face.
My neighbour hesitated for a moment, and then he grabbed a piece of paper
and began to scribble down something. When he finished writing, he handed the
piece of paper to the politician saying, “This is the value of my vote.”
The politician went through the paper briefly and then squeezed and threw
it away, in my direction. He hurried away, saying that my neighbor wasn’t
being rational. My neighbour, realizing I was watching, picked up the paper and
said, waving the paper at me, “Am I being irrational?” I collected the paper and
took a quickly look at it. He had written on the paper the breakdown of his
family’s expenses, which the government (according to him) had so far failed to
provide or make available for its citizens. He then multiplied everything by
four (4) years. Something like this:

Security - N20,000 per month x 12 months x
4 years = N960,000

Generator - N40,000 per 2 years x 2 = N80,000

Fuel for generator - N1,000 per day x 365 days x 4 years
=
N1,460,000

Potable water - N500 per day x 365 days x 4 years =

N730,000

Healthcare Insurance - N10,000 per month x 12 months x 4 years =
N480,000
Education - N5,000 per month x 12 months x 4 years =
N240,000

Housing - N500,000 per year x 4 years
= N2,000,000

Total - N5,950,000 (five million
nine hundred and fifty thousand naira).

Well,” he explained as I continued to stare at his breakdown, “if asking for the
basic necessities of life is not being rational, I wonder what is rational?” I
wasn’t trying to be difficult,” he continued. “I believe this is a
modest breakdown of expenses considering I have a wife and a kid. If you have a
larger family, the value of your vote may be much higher than this,” he
concluded. So, my dear friend, if you want to sell your vote, I won’t say
“don’t.” But, be like my neighbour. Make sure it is “worth its weight in
gold.” (Inspired by a true story) Wish Nigeria the Best of Leaders Through a
Free and Fair Election.
Have a Peaceful Election!
