The point is the energy, time and finances spent on practising religion would have been better spent on development.

You see people going to church, monday morning.
People building churches instead of factories
People changing to pastors when there is no job.
People disturbing the whole neighborhood in the name of religion.
People spending hours in church on sunday, and collecting brives on monday.... What waste..

I think it's better to laud them so that other religious organizations can be encouraged to give back to the community. Maybe we may have a compensation for bad governments through such faith-based initiatives.
