I enjoyed your post, as a practising architect, all what you have listed here are the basic knowledge of any well trained architect. I suspect you are confusing architects with draughtsmen. Also from my experience engineers dont usually want to put in more effort.

An example is the placement of columns anyhow, not according to plans drawn by the architect.
Instead they are after structural stability, whereas, cantilevers can span more than 6m if well designed and supported.

Anyways the point is, an architect is after the aesthetic and functional aspect, whereas an engineer is after the structural aspect.

Hence houses designed by a proper architect and an engineer exhibit start differences in terms of aesthetis, functionality and structural integrity.

Location Plan
Location plan is supposed to help anybody locate the site. It is necessary you take it from a known road or building. Don't be too lazy to signify other buildings around. Google Maps can help you do this properly.


Site Plan
Its important you study the survey plan well before you make your site plan.
1. Don't be tempted to use all the available land for the fence. You need to reserve some in front for the gutter, some flowers for beauty, and for waste disposal.
You should have enough space between d road and fence. Just in case your governor decides to expand the road in future.

2. You should have enough space between the building and the fence. Don't ever use 1m or less. Only If you want water to flow from your roof to the next compound or flowers to grow into it.

3. Include the area of land available, area of to be developed, area to be developed later and area undeveloped. In some cases the longitude and latitude of the site, the direction of north and hatch or colour codes key.

4. All dimensions are important. The building boundary and distance to any element in the compound.

5. Place the gates well. To allow his car move in smoothly. Dont place the gate in a way car will have to turn several times before it's enters.
I have seen a house, were the owner has to come from the street behind his house to maneuver his way through the gate.

6. Should the security post share the same wall with fence. You must plan this properly. Few houses from mine, the man uses electric fence. But the security post roof can be used to gain access into the house with just a ladder.

Step 1:
Creating a properly formatted Table of contents in a word document is quite simple, follow these steps;
Before starting the document or after completing, make sure to categorise each heading or sub-heading that you want to show on the Table of contents. This can be done using the style tool bar.

To place the table of contents,

However for perfection, you can also edit and rename the styles as you deem fit.
Editing styles is not difficult, it is done by right clicking on the styles, and selecting modify. Here you can change the text properties. (note; it should be done before allocating styles to the text.)
Microsoft word has numerous inbuilt pulgins that make creating or editing word documents easy and less cumbersome, other examples includes captioning pictures including creating a table of figures, creating references e.t.c.

What this op said is total crap. I got a job in this country without knowing anyone. He is just a spoilt brat who I believe got his grades by his father helping him sort lecturers. Make a good CV, search for jobs on the internet, upgrade your knowledge where necessary, and above all be hopeful and prayerful. Not everybody has a father who is influential. I am sure his father had to work for his own success.

Maybe u didnt read the text fully. Cos i remeber saying i got a job (s) on my own.

The point is, connection itself has limits.... for example a connection with third class can get you into a company not higher positions (unless its owned by ur father).
Therefore its best u are well positioned and backed by a good referral. Anyone can refer u. So long u are properly qualified.

The only limit to anyone employing you is the trust factor. Some Nigerians if given the oppurtunity will suck a company dry. So companies are more comfortable employing you when u come from someone they know.

I should say this, i was qualified for the job.... had some experience in building, learnt a lot of archi softwares... so anyone cant really say i got my job unfairly....
