I am still very surprised that Southern socio-cultural groups have not responded to the conflicts and inter-tribal wars in NW. If I headed OPC or MASSOB or MEND I would have found way to exploit the problem and implode the Emirates long ago. Cause an escalation in their confusion and hatred and fund an uprising of the Hausas against their rulers.
You do not need to head any of them, just start it cause division between them.

Kanu came with hate speech? You wont thank him for that? Others like Boko haram, Niger Delta militants and herdsmen dont have time for hate or love speech. Their AK47 does the speech for them
....so we should be congratulating Kanu for indulging in hate speech?

The report alleging that Ghana was owing Nigeria for gas purchases was published more than one and half years ago. Nobody had a good sense to find out if the debt had been cleared or not? And they are still recycling old, stale news. How about an attempts to dig up more current news in Ghana’s so-called indebtedness to Nigeria gas? Or you call NNPC to ask, can’t you?

In any case, if Ghana is owing Nigeria till now, will nigeria continue to supply gas to Ghana? But never mind, just google and find out if indeed Ghana is still owing Nigeria for gas sold in the past. I know what the latest story is, but I want you to look for the latest info on this issue yourself.

I am also delighted to inform you that Ghana’s dependence on gas imports from Nigeria is shrinking. Currently Ghana produces more than 400 million scf per day from its own OCTP, Jubile and TEN fields. So, the 60 million scf/d from Nigeria, which is even erratic, unavailable most of the time, is a small and insignificant part of the current Ghana gas supply story. With more supplies expected from new gas field under development, Ghana really doesn’t need to import gas.
Give us link to when Ghana paid up, no need for epistles

You can goggle that information. I think you should mellow down on this GDP this GDP that, and focus on the overall well-being and standard of living of Nigerians. Nigeria’s greatest assets are its people, not oil and gas, or anything.

You are quoting GDP. What I want to hear from you is how are nigerians doing, in terms of life expectancy, access to jobs, poverty levels, electricity, water, quality education, personal security, food etc. These are considered necessities of life. So what is the point of a big GDP when the people are suffering, in all ramifications?
Just like some Ghanaians are suffering as well, your companies are suffering, your government is suffering and you suffering too.

OkCornel:
Lol, and you know the funny thing, when God requested for money, God was specific on how money should be raised to maintain the temple. God never requested for money as tithe, see my next post on this thread.
That is the point, even today the Jews don't give tithes again.

After the destruction of the temple and children of Israel had to scatter all over the known world, records in the temple were destroyed in AD 70, nobody knew who a son of Levi was anymore therefore the Israelites don't know who to give the tithes to and that Jewish tradition died naturally.

Today pastors have assumed the role of the sons of Levi when they are not even Jews to start with.

Deuteronomy 14:22-29 New International Version (NIV)

Tithes

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.

23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away),

25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose.

26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns,

29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
Pastors would never tell their congregation about this.

Of the 12 sons of Israel, only the children of Levi were not given any land because every male was elevated to priesthood and they are the ones that the tithes were given which in turn the y and the giver takes it to the house of God, when you ask some Christians if their pastors are the sons of Levi, they'd start staring at you as if what you asked them was blasphemous.

I only know of spirit led freewill giving (from a cheerful heart) not pegged at any particular percentage of one's earnings as the basis for giving under the new covenant.

2 Corinthians 9 v 7;
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Acts 4 v 34-35;
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

That being said, I'm still awaiting
1) Scriptural examples of gentile believers that tithed in the new covenant
2) I'm awaiting where God changed the standard of tithing from agro-produce as clearly stated in Deuteronomy 14 v 22-29, into money the wolves in shepherd's clothing are currently soliciting for.
God bless you for stating this, problem is this, most Christians don't even know anything about the Bible, all they know is what the pastor preached.
When it's time for tithes, they'd only quote that verse in Malachi and would never quote that verse in Deuteronomy.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Tithing Now A Bad Thing Because Men Abuse Tithes? by Area4Area: 11:32am On Dec 15, 2019
Tithing is a Jewish tradition God gave them so that they continue to remember how God brought them from Egypt.
The tithing was restricted to those who till the ground and those who tend to animals that chew the curd so not all Jews were required to give it.

There was nowhere in the new testament that Jesus and his apostles gave or requested or even encouraged for tithes from the early Christians, they were only told to give whatever they have to help others who are in need.

Some of you calling the pastors names need to have your brains examined, did the pastor(s) drag the worshippers from their house at gun point to come to his church(s), was it not the gullible idiots who attend on their own volition?
Millions all over Nigeria would be doing same today and we go blaming pastors as if they forced them to church where they willingly allow themselves to be scammed.

Daddy G.O, pastor etc drives the latest cars, private jets, living in mansions while members of the congregation attend church with worn out shoes, may not be sure of his next meal, owning house rent etc

Lagos is richer than Rwanda. That is a fact.
Is Rwanda a top five African economy?
No they are not. Lagos alone is top 5 in GDP.
How many notable companies do you know that have their headquarters in Rwanda?
None.

Yes, they have a better standard of living due to a much better standard of governance.

They have done much with little, while lagos have done very little with much.
Rwanda does not have a better standard of living, imagine Nigerians posting pictures of the posh places in Abuja, Lagos, PH, KD, Enugu etc and people take it as how and what the rest of Nigeria looks like.

Nigeria is not stupid for giving them electricity. In the light of the border closure, if I were them I'll threaten Nigeria with a dam. But they're very stupid to act.
