You are correct in your own way though.

But consider those buying volumes. A good friend of mine in this forum sold almost 40m units of fidelity in January. Such individuals buy volumes and possess the patience of crocs when in a trade.

Now if prices drop to their loading points, do you think you would see such volumes to buy after they have all loaded their fill?
u may be right in a way but it also depend on strategy to use. Eg, if he has more than one account then 40m is even small to what he can get.

Prophet,

When speak of bonanza period, you make it sound as if people are going to buy a commodity that has unlimited supply. You tend to forget that each good company listed on the exchange has a LIMITED NUMBER OF OUTSTANDING SHARES!

Unlike your 2014/2015 examples, most of those shares have found themselves in die-hard individual hands who are ready to wait till after the elections.

Now, I am wondering who will sell the bonanza shares you are expecting to buy to you.

IT IS ONE THING FOR A SHARE TO SELL AT N1 ON XX/YY/2018 OR 2019, BUT IT IS ANOTHER THING TO GET THE VOLUME YOU WANT ON THAT DATE.

There is a reason why volume traded keeps reducing as price reduces. Go figure.
for me, bonanza is here already i pulled out from zenith @ 27.30 (90k units) if am buying it back at current price, i will get additional 20k units making 110k units, gtb gets exral 5k at the current price, access 36kunits extra, ucap 66kunits extra, and dangote flour 40k units extra but is gtb i want more of bonanza. so it depends the way an individual view it. am sure all these stocks if i want to buy them back by next month, i will still get all of them back with those bonanza on top

Example, when Zenith was
@ #28, if one sold his/her 1 unit at #28 and wait for bonanza period, which will come up by January,February& March next year during election period, and buy back the same Zenith @ #14 per a unit, that mean, he/she will get 2 unit @ #28, meaning one unit is free. The same goes to Fedility, when it was @ #2.60, Fcmb, @ #2.70, Diamond bank, Honeyflour and many others.
Many might give those who sold on time, 2 unit free, per a unit sold and buy back
That would be fine ooo though I sold zenith for #27.3

@Aremso bro it’s not a wise idea to wait for someone “here” to call a buy for you trust me you’ll be pushing their % up for them at that time.
They are all good at shouting “sell”.. and that too, is after they’ve sold tho.

I remember you saying you normally do your purchases 27 December and it has worked for you, why not stick to it or use your target price.

No miss the party again oo
Many thanks just asked based on the election coming that why I asked

Been watching from the sidelines. Once it is clear who the party presidential flag-bearers are, I will consider purchasing.

The higher the mountain, the lower the valley.
So what is the right time to buy? Dec. Or January?

Some other people like this man will pay five hundred thousand naira tithe from their five million naira and wait for strange money to appear in their bank accounts in multiples grin grin
That is useless mentality of an average African man, they like free money without investment, without tasking their brain, without Reading and that is why corruption is everywhere. An average African likes free money, preferred to go and sleep expecting miracle to happen and when their other fellow engaged brain, read, take risk and invest. When the returns is in multiple fold then they begins to envy, jealous then plans on how to runs down such fellow. Some people have said that, it it Dangote alone in the country? But wen dangote was awake in the night strategising, they were snoring they have forgotten that losers of the nights are winners of the day.

I will go practical but leave theories for now.
I changed my 10,000pounds sterling towards end of January this year when exchange rate was N500 to a pound. That gave me N5,000,000.00.I invested same @Tb @ 13.3% then for 182days giving me an interest of N331,200 approximately after deductions. I have reinvested same principal after maturity for another 182days @10.2% giving my another upfront interest of N254,000 approximately after deductions. Instead of keeping my 10,000pounds idle in my room(bearing in mind risk of theft and arson) I have made an interest of N331,200+N254,000=N585,200 which I invested in my MMF.
Now,the true value of my 10,000pounds is N5,585,200.Converting it back to pounds at the current exchange rate of N460 is 12,142pounds
Therefore, I have made additional 2,142pounds on my initial 10,000pounds plus the little change running on MMF. cool
If I had kept the 10,000pounds in my room, the true value of the money would have been N4,600,000 now. embarassed
Summary, be wise in investment, don't always follow theoretical bases;watch the economy and forecast well bf investing. In my case,I do monitor exchange rate daily, I knew rate will be highest towards January ending n beginning of February BC of rush for forex as a result of payment of school fees abroad. I watch exchange rate hit N510-N515 then started declining and I forecasted it would not rise beyond those figures.I settled for N500 the day I went for transaction and behold after that week rate started declining.I am aware there may be other risk of devaluation of our Naira, but prior to any devaluation there is always news n noise including debates about that.Another strong indicator for devaluation is falling oil prices and whenever I notice that I would terminate my investment at maturity and convert my Naira to foreign currency. shocked
oga, i double tuaile for you, u sabi the game wella and with this, you can never be poor neither will your posterity be. my focus is to make more money whether economy is rising or falling strategy is to make more money

I thought treasury bills is risk free? Am asking this question because of the comments above about election bla bla bla....
to the best of my knowlege, TB is still the safest investment. Since by God grace there will not be wars and nigeria will still be existing after the election, cbn will always be there. so to me nothing to be afraid off. However, its only stock investment that has a very high risk at this period and to me, not high risk cos its the period of wealth transfer from the rich to the poor who are discerning investors.

Good. I think we should all do that. Nobody knows it all. A fundamental part of beating this market has to do with us collectively beating the foreign investors first. For if they take most of the gains n the market, what will be left for us to profit from.
I have said it before and am saying again, the best is to study these foreign investors and know the time they usually exit the market. Failure to do that will always result to buying their dumped stocks

Is it not ironic that the same people who are quoting prices and asking people to come back in December are the ones monitoring stock price every now and then.

One would have expected that they will stop being active in the market until December if they actually believe their own rhetorics!
Hey Oga, i only spoke of my own and currently, i have pulled my money out sinnncccccceeee into treasury bills. i monitors stock prices even if have pulled out and before i joined this forum, have been doing that. Am not telling any one to come to market in December anyone can come anytime he or she likes, non of my headache.

Aremso you need to read from 2016.. that ridiculous prediction has been a common thing on this blog that some of them end up missing a good entry price.. Funny thing is when they charge their armageddon entry price they’ll not say anything until they are done buying then Out of the blue you’ll just see change of tones..
you are correct, i tried to buy whatever stock i want to buy latest December 27 and that has been my practice the reason is, any stock that does not fall further at that time will only result to price appreciation from that period onward
