After the Presidential election of 2015, there was the notion that the result tilted in favour of the winner because of where he came from and his religion forgetting that the same candidate has lost three times earlier. The just concluded election proves that that notion was wrong. The closest rival and the incumbent who won happens to come from the same region and are also Muslims. It was antecedent of the two candidates that carried the day. Nigerians comments during the campaigns was so derogatory especially some pastors and some imams who turned the pulpit to a campaign ground to convince their members whom they should vote for and who not to vote for. The incumbent won because Nigerians felt he has done enough to earn their vote within the last four years he was in office.
Now that the election has been concluded and we had no issue of violence in the north where the two candidates are from, it is surprising that violence was reported in some Southern states. Election is not war and whoever did not win today has the next four years to contest. We thank God that our votes now counts. We are better together than creating dis -harmony among ourselves. We would not vote thode that will loot our treasury again. The 16 years they used in looting the country and selling off our assets is enough. They are planning to sell NNPC like they sold other Nigeria industries and made citizens to be unemployed after the sales. The should just allow APC to do 16 years too. The first 4 and half years has bwitnessed massive infrastuctural development like road construction that PDP did not do in 16 years. Ilorn - Jebba - Mokwa road is a good example. Check out the road to my town (Ilorin - Jebba - Mokwa ) that was re- constructed by PMB after abandonment by PDP for sixteen years. The road is so good that you may sleep off while driving.
