wiseoneking:
You sound foolish and unwise to blame joe. This bridge was due over two decades ago. Atleast we had two succesive civilian pred that never thought of it. Obj dribbled it for 8yrs. Here u are shouting Gej. Gej started something and ndi igbo are ever proud of him.
The only thing he started with the 2nd NB is setting you on a 30 years long journey of ibo people paying tolls to to julius berger.

GEJ did not do anything for you since Nigeria is not paying for that bridge, ibo people are paying for their own bridge out of their own pocket.

GEJ sold you off to Jb and not only that, GEJ awarded tons of contracts all over the country, so why didn't award contract for this bridge, why is this bridge the only tolled FG bridge in Nigeria? Why must ibo people be the only people paying for their own bridge for 30 years?

So, exactly in what way did he helped you?

Your best bet is for PMB to cancel this project and re award the project and pay for it instead of ibo people paying JB for 30 years.

...but of course, you people are hard learners and you like doing things the hard way.

You people are so shortsighted, misguided mentally reckless.

Agbaya. It was PDP that released details of fashola's inflated contract to the public. Only those who do not know that it is PDP that is governing Lagos will doubt you sir.

If Fasola has come to beg, why didn't you tell him it is too late? The deed has been done, his lies exposed, his pilfering nature has been brought to public knowledge. Though you have instructed your boy, Ambode to remove the details of Fasola's wonders from Lagos state website, please be informed that many of us have already saved the details of all his "super performance " from the website. You think you can tell us this to make us believe APC government is peopled with saints, to change our mindset about you and your boys in Alausa? It is either Fasola threatened to open up on your involvement in the alleged pilfering or as usual, he has come to beg you for forgiveness. Save your sermon and just tell us the truth.

Regardless of the innuendos and insinuations about book lunch and who was there or not, Tinubu personally has nothing to gain but a lot to lose by directly or indirectly attacking Fashola, in fact he and the APC has a lot to lose.

The fact that Tinubu himself jumped in to strongly stop the bleeding says a lot. APC is nothing in Lagos without Fashola, Fashola is their shining star, their major currency and prime beacon and they know this especially after the backlash and strong support for Fashola.

Orobo Ambode is the loser because Lagosians are holding him responsible for this mess. His the governor of Lagos state today because of Fashola and not because of Tinubu.

Tinubu is a smart man and I don't see him doing this to the most trusted and widely asceptable member of his own party, I don't see him dividing his own party and what he built because of some silly noise about borehole. Great leadership move by Asiwaju as usual, but he should have reacted strongly before this rubbish got out of hand. I really saw this coming.

The moral of the story here = Mess with Fashola and deal squarely with angry and pissed off Lagosians because Lagosians love their Fashola. Ambode and the APC won in Lagos and National because of Fashola, great work in Lagos, his credibility and image so to let one idiotic orobo clown who Fashola himself spoke for, campaigned for and took to all the powers that be in Lagos to change their mind and vote for rubbish Fashola is unacceptable.

Where was Asiwaju when orobo openly ridiculed Fashola by lying to Lagosians and the rest of the world that Fashola took N50 million for Falomo mall? Thank God the company set the record straight by throwing his lies back in his face..

I hate liars and dishonest people and I never even liked orobo to start with.

Asiwaju, you next job now is to sanction orobo and read him his rights.

Without BRF in Lagos, the APC is nothing locally and nationally.

It's because you lack any foresight that you make such a conclusion, the job of a king before the democratisation of our society is the economic viability of his and the betterment of his people; with that his kingdom may increase in wealth and size. He would do this by liason with other kings, conquest of other regions impossing levies on subjects and increasing trade with other kingdoms.

Any true king who really intends to earn his wage in Nigeria beyond being a tradition observing individual , would need to be well connected, illustrious, politically enlightened and honest. Ile-Ife would not have enjoyed the growth it had between 1930 and 1950 if Adesoji Aderemi was not well educated , well traveled and adequately connected. He was able to sway the FG from establishing the university in Ekiti and there we have OAU now, he did that in a few phone calls( Akintola was simply told by Awo " oba wants the university in Ife", his answer "whatever baba wants" it was that simple , so many things were done that wwy.

The first nationalist movement in SW was born in the palace of olowo of owo oba olateru olagbegi II the orogun of ila presrnt, the first meetings in UK to seek Independence way into 1940s had Adesoji Aderemi as a representative with him addressing the house of lords and commons , he was there till the end using his relationship with the king of England to gather favour ,Nigeria thus became the first African country amazing few to gain Independence without any grand civil unrest or militancy. That is how Nigeria became the gaint of Africa above other nations such as Ghana, Egypt ,Morocco and Zimbabwe who were much more prosperous than us.
Well said...

I really hope you understand what conclusion means. In your own eyes for someone to spend N139m on just two boreholes is a job well done and the cost was not inflated.
Read and comprehend properly.

I never said spending 139 million was right or was a job well done, I said you can not jump into conclusion without facts and details relating to the said project. We need to know exactly what was ordered, what was delivered, who awarded the contract, who it was awarded to, who wrote the payment checks, who took the checks to the bank and cashed the checks, in whose account the money finally landed.

In my own eyes or not, when you take the former governor to court, the judge won't ask anything about my eyes or your eyes, he'll ask you for evidence of crime or offence committed. Shouting Fashola spent this and that is just talk, you can not convict him based on some random numbers on the internet.

wonders would never end. If according to you there is zero accusation of corruption that means Ambode was just praising his spending of N139m on two boreholes. Na
This has nothing to do with Ambode and or your own noise and screams on the internet, tell the same Ambode to probe the former governor or petition the efcc to prosecute and jail the former governor, your noise on the internet is not a court of law.

If you people really care about corruption or what the former governor jailed for corruption, you should be asking or forcing Ambode to show you and Lagosians all the relevant facts like I listed above or take his case to the efcc, but you people don't care or give a damn about corruption, all you care about his your pointless rants that gets us nowhere.

So now on the issue of Fashola you want facts to be shown before accusing him but on the issue of the missing money you talked about have any fact been shown?..
Regardless what we say on the internet about people stealing and looting or who is corrupt or not or even how much we want them jailed, we can't jail them without any evidence of wrong doing so what's your point?

We say GEJ and his men and women are corrupt, but saying they are corrupt or this and that money is missing is enough to jaill because you still have to invesigate and put forward facts and evidence before a judge in a court of law.

You are not making any sense here.

It is difficult to really discuss with people that see nothing wrong with whom they support especially if the support is blind, even in the moon can any non corrupt individual dig two boreholes for N139m? It is on heard for. Please corruption is corruption no matter how you paint or present it and no matter the name you give to it, whether you call it spend this and that. This is just one of the numerous accusation he is being accused of,interestingly he could not even deny it. You are quick to come to the defence of you SAINT. Hmmm different stroke for different folks, different definition of corruption for different people. I now understand it. Thank you Solicitor to Mr. SAINT
1. I didn't say Fashola is a saint, that's something you made up inside your own head.

2. What you think is too much or not to spend of a bore hole is irrelevant if you really care about corruption. Your argument should be about Ambode. You should be asking him to take his case to the EFCC or show Lagosians who cashed he payment checks and in whose account the money landed. This is not rocket science.

3. Saying this and that is corruption or he spend this and that is meaningless ti you are able to prove with facts and follow the money trail to it's final destination.

4. How do you prove Fashola intentionally inflated the contract and cornered the money for his personal use? How?

By screaming and yelling on the internet that this and that is rubbish because that's all you can do, what about just gong to the efcc with your facts?

What About ambode himself probing Fashola is he's really concerned about the money and the people of Lagos?

Ambode care less about any money, his only mission is to smear and rubbish his redecessor. Is this not the reason why he openly lied to the world that Fashola took N50 million for Falomo mall concession which the company involved called him out on for lying?

Ambode is a crook, a lair and dishonest man. If hes the goods on his predecessor, the courts are out there for him to take his case to, the efcc is there, he also can probe Fashola directly..

when I read your response above it makes me laugh, imagine you telling someone that his problem is inability to read and comprehend or even understand and follow basic discussion] yet that is what you have done. The person you quoted understands , comprehend and
also followed the basic discussion but you seem to be blinded by your trust, adoration and fanatical support you have for Fashola( about 80% of your post is about your acclaimed performance of Fashola, to the extent you claimed Akpabio looted his state seriousely by inflating contract prices, see one of your post where you claimed that what Fashola did is far better and more than what PDP Government and state Government did in 16years( https://www.nairaland.com/2180887/fasholas-8-years-gej-fg).

Now to the issue at hand. The subject matter here is corruption. GEJ Government was accused of corruption and Fashola is being accused of corruption and you are telling us it is not the same thing calling GEJ's own as a case of missing money and Fashola's own is about spending this and that
There is nothing wrong in supporting Fashola but there is everything wrong in defending people accused of corruption. The same formula Ambode is applying against Fashola was the same formula Fashola and APC applied against PDP accussing PDP of corruption some true and some lies, yet corruption runs in every facet of the country. You can see corruption in both PDP and APC.

What goes up must come down
You have no business talking about reading and comprehension because you defiantly just failed that test with your baseless conclusion

To start with, there's is zero accusation of corruption here, this is your own carried away imagination. Saying you spent this and that on a project is not corruption, it's just saying he spent this and that on this and that. Corruption is you exposing contract details, what was requested and what was delivered and so far, you don't have that.

Saying he spent this and that is just tall till you are able to show us facts and proof that he not only inflated the contracts himself and diverted funds from the said inflation to himself. That is corruption and until you are able to do just that, you are just talking and smearing.

They don't put people in jail for spending too much according to you, they do if you are able to prove that he personally did so to enrich himself by diverting the funds into his own pocket.

Yes I started the thread about Fashola's 8 years. Have I been proven wrong? No I haven't.

Fashola delivered more projects than all the other states in Nigeria and the FG combined. I started that thread and it's still stands so prove me wrong if you can..

Common knowledge tells reasonable Nigerians that there is some major inflation of this contract sum but again, according to u the specs may justify these outrageous sums.

Fashola ran an open government. That he even dared to make information on all his contracts available to everyone online is a testimony to that.
Rather than for Ambode to take down the website, I think he should have continued in that tradition and even go further than headline topics for each contracts by making detailed scope of each contracts available.!.

Not a single other governor has achieved what Fashola did. Despite the fact that some of the contracts looks exhorbitant and unrealistically expensive, I am convinced that if you have information on other states and their contracts, you will realise that Lagos state contracts during Fashola is Top Quatile.

Ambode have made some contract awards and he is still afraid of loading this contracts on the government website.! Rather, he is taking down the site. Where will the public get info on his projects?.

Note that the info on all these so called Fashola contracts were available even during the last campaign, it is a pity that PDP were too afraid to make it an issue due to the fact that these will be child play compared to the Federal government contracts.

Fashola never claimed to be a saint, he has tried his best to give us transparent governance, it may not be perfect, but still the best so far in the whole of Nigeria!!

The ball is in Ambode's court now and nothing short of an improved, more transparent governance, building on Fashola's achievement will be acceptable to the populace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, thanks for this brilliant and very intelligent post.

1. Ambode took down the website because of the backlash and whooping he's getting from Lagosians regarding his anti Fashola moves. Lagosians love Fashola and are still visibly enjoying his governance.

Ambode is trying to clean himself up by taking down the site and claiming that mischivious elements are misusing and twisting the info on the website.

2. Ambode's latest move wont work and he can not distance himself from the fiasco he created. He not only refused to clarify the info ob behalf of his predecessor with facts and details available to him, he actively lied against the Fashola and hung him out there to dry all based on bogus and misleading info.

3. The Falomo mall concession comes to mind. Ambode publicly lied that Fashola took N50 million for a 50 years concession which the company involved disputed.

Ambode did not tell Lagosians that Fashola actually made tons of money for Lagosians by securing a whooping 38% stake in the N300 billion investments and on top of that, the whole investment and the mall itself goes to the people of Lagos after 50 years.

Means Lagosians don't have to wait 50 years before benefiting from the contract since their 38% stake means billions going to the people of Lagos state.

4. During Fashola's 8 years, he commissioned multiple projects every week, but this Ambode man is yet to commission anything even though Fashola left hundreds of projects in different stages of completion with many already completed.

The idea is to delay commissioning to create the impression that they ae his projects and not Fashola's projects which to me who's project it is makes no difference as long as Lagosians gets their completed projects in a timely Fashion to enjoy.
