The federal government of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Motir DuSable Power Investment Limited; a US-based renewable energy power firm to build a 300 MegaWatts solar plant in Enugu State.

According to their website,

DuSable Capital is a US-based firm with a focus on making investments in renewable energy and infrastructure projects. DuSable is a developer of utility-scale solar plants in Asia and Africa and has been awarded over 1,500 Megawatts of power in both continents since inception.

The company commenced plans after getting an energy generation license from the Nigerian Energy Regulatory Commission (NERC) for up to 300 MW. They have also completed all of the required technical research for the potential site and is in the final stages of negotiating a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement(PPA) with the Nigerian Government.

The first phase of the project, estimated at about $200million will inject 100mega watts of power into the national power grid, which will subsequently be increased to 200MW in the second phase.

It is sited in Enugu State with the goal of making the state the hub for renewable energy generation in sub-Sahara Africa.

While providing much-needed power, the project will create, jobs, opportunities and open up the state.

According to a press release on the DuSable website, When completed in the next 12 to 18 months, the project will be part of solar energy projects worth $2.5 billion that will be undertaken in Nigeria and is expected to add 975 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.

The African richest man said it would be to the benefit of Nigerians if the Federal Government embraced the option of using concrete for roads in the country, adding that aside from being cheap, concrete roads were more durable, with near zero maintenance cost.

“We are pushing for Nigeria to do concrete roads. It is cheaper to do a concrete road that will last 50 years than to do a bitumen road. It will also help in eliminating corruption because if you go and build a bitumen road, it will have to be adequately maintained unlike a concrete road that is very durable,” Dangote added.[/b]

Anambra workers demand full implementation: In Anambra State, immediate past government of Peter Obi, instead of implementing the N18.000 minimum wage, just added N10,000 and just recently, the incumbent governor merely effected a 15 percent increment to the workers' salaries which still fell short of the N18.000 minimum wage.

Before I met this thread I used to believe Aisha is in the USA. I made few researches and found some inconsistencies that made me now believe otherwise:

1. No foreign media house (CNN, BBC, VOA, Al Jazeera etal) reported the visit. Only Nigerian media houses citing Sahara reporters as source. It ïs not possible that Nigerian first lady will visit USA without CNN carrying the news.

2. The VOA does not have the transcript of the alleged interview with Aisha on their website. In fact, no single result was returned for the search 'Aisha Buhari' on their search page.

3. The Past Events page of the website of US institute of peace does not record any event with Aisha.

4. For the first time under Obama's administration, Michelle fails to host a visiting first lady. Meaning the wife of the President didn't visit.

5. I don't want to talk about the arrival hall of the Dulles Airport.

while other states are planning to reduce from N18000 or sack workers. Obiano has built and commisioned over 3 flyovers in 2years. He built and commisioned the longest bridge in Anambra state. Anambra state produced rice is in the market now, all in two years. Anambra IGR has increased from about 600m monthly to about 1.4b. So many more just in two years. Learn to appreciate good things or else you will not attract good things to your life.
