Nothing will ever work in this country with Muslim Northerners heading to polling units to vote every four years.

I think Tinubu built all his confidence on this by making sure Buhari wasn't openly against him.

It worked, they don't care. We the southerners will take the backlash as we travel often and always at the front of defending Nigeria from Foreigners.

We might call this an electoral Victory but 2028 will be more painful knowing that risking your life to vote down south doesn't worth it as someone who never checked the profile of whoever he/she is voting for will cancel your vote somewhere in the north.

wooooooow, this one is lost

Daniwes:
Met two sisters a while ago in church, for some reason, the older one got my no and has been calling me almost every day. Meanwhile, I ve always wanted the younger one-she is my full spec for a serious relationship, I just did not get a chance to bond and get her contact.

Recently, the older one tried a few more advances which I turned down. I ve planned to clear her straight that I am not interested, but I am not sure how to go about it as of course these are siblings. I really like younger sis, but I feel I am not sure how to proceed with this.

I feel the recent move older sis pulled will sabotage any meaningful relationship I want to have with the younger sis in future

common this is easy, get a player friend to date her and make a slow visible switch

Politics / Re: North Has Forgotten They Landlocked Too. by Arexit: 10:10am On Jun 07, 2021
oh but we know very well that's why most of the imports to the north (and some to the east) come through states like katsina, sokoto etc and at a much cheaper rate than coming through lagos until this senile old man was influenced by....... to close all land borders and have only lagos in use. trust me the north will be just fine.

If you've ever had sex in your dream, ejaculated then woke up to see cum on your shorts then you can relate to this memo from the Coalition of Northern Groups.

It's real but it is still imaginary because the North know they can not stand alone without the South.

So they'd use threat, blackmail and domination to get the South to assure them of a peaceful coexistence.
Then they go back home happy and just like in your dream, you came, but it was still a dream.

una see! how exactly is that suppose to be your problem, shouldn't you be happy and encourage this?

Politics / Re: Nigerian Federal Allocation In Colonial Period (Photo) by Arexit: 12:44pm On Jun 01, 2021
FrLukas:

There's a reason why Lagos became the primary ports location.

It wasn't the only city with a port, was it? Nor was it the only location that bordered the ocean.

Way before the colonialists arrived, Lagos was already a viable center of commerce.

I think you're missing the point in all this.

If, there's an infrastructure in Lagos that all of Nigeria is using to generate their wealth, shouldn't more money be allocated to the region in which Lagos is in, so as to maintain that facility?

Why then is it that despite the huge revenue from the west, it was given the least allocation.

That's what you should focus on.

You're focusing on whether the west actually made as much money as they claimed to have made.

Read about the wonders that chief Obafemi Awolowo did in the western region with revenue from Cocoa. You'd be shocked.

That's to tell you that cocoa was a viable income generator for the region at the time.

Whatever was generated from import and excise duty at the port was quite minimal as compared to cocoa, the major income earner.

still doesn't answer my question as to whether the reason is because west benefited from other regions? well what ever it is, i seriously believe nigeria needs to breakup. this setup is not and will never work from all indications. again just saying

There's a reason you bring your commodity to sell in Lagos.

Nobody goes to a dead zone to sell commodities. I hope you understand that premise.

Besides, you're probably banking your money not in Lagos but in Sokoto or Kaduna.

So when you sell your goods, you take your cash back home to bank and then pay your tax there.

I think you're forgetting that as at that time, there wasn't wire transfer, POS, ATM, computerized banking etc.

So if you paid income tax, you paid it back in your region.

Does that make sense?

come on, as it is then so it is now, that is where the port is, you don't expect me to export through benin when i am nigerian and the port is in Nigeria right, even so during the colonial time, its not about dead zone its about if other regions contributed to your revenue count.

you know for sure items came from the north and the east through the west but did the reverse happen?
Politics / Re: Nigerian Federal Allocation In Colonial Period (Photo) by Arexit: 11:55am On Jun 01, 2021

How does this make sense?

Why would they bring tax from another region and count it in another region and then input that as revenue from the region where they counted it? Lol

The British may be evil but give them credit for knowing basic accounting.

There's no need to do gymnastics just to dodge and wish away the efficiency and effectiveness of the rulership of the Yoruba people. Otherwise you'd end up with illogicality such as this.

if i bring commodities to lagos to sell for export do i pay sales tax in kaduna or sokoto?
Politics / Re: Nigerian Federal Allocation In Colonial Period (Photo) by Arexit: 11:26am On Jun 01, 2021
should we not take into account that the west was the point of import/export as it still is now and that means financial exchanges and taxes from the regions were also counted as western revenue?

just asking
