Being independent simply means not waiting on the man for everything both financially and emotionally. I really cant stand women that wait for their husbands before doing anything, why should I wait for a man to do for me what I can do for myself? |

Bolarge: What's the point going for a church wedding then if u're not ready to abide by the tenets of the Christian faith?
U have done the traditional wedding then chikenna. Have all the sex in the world. Why bother about a church wedding?
If u however claim to be true christians, with the intent of still going before GOD in the presence of the people of
GOD to exchange marital vows, then sex prior to this is fornication. The traditional wedding was before the devil abi? So as a christian if I dont go to church before getting married, then it means I have not exchanged my vows before God? Please, God is not confined to a building called church. @ poster As long as the traditional wedding was carried out with the consent of both parents and done in the presence of God (God is everywhere), why not. But, your conscience is telling you otherwise follow your conscience as long as your husband understands. |

papaejima: pple of 9ija.i said it b4 and i say it again that opinion is like an asshole and everyone has a right to one.i have seen a lot of postings here, those 4 and those against.bt the whole story doesnt make sense to me.am very conversant with flights and clearing of goods.how in hell can smeone wants to clear goods destined for an independent country in kano.the final destination of that goods was EG,and folksEG is not a nigerian state.we know that there is massive corruption in nigeria,bt my question is where they intending to hijack the cargo or clear it? these things will help us in seening through this hazey story that we have been handed over.like i said last nite, this is a ploy to give mend a more stinking name, cos just seconds after apprehending the cargo, smebody have started throwing the news around and speculating that it may belong to mend.al-queda,hezbollah,islamic jihad and the rest of the terrorist orgs have their cells in the north.why didnt those guys speculate that the cargo was 4 one of these groups.we are being taken for granted here by these malamic bastards.guys wake up frm ur slumbers and think with the head. The flight only tech stopped for fuel, its not possible to offload not to talk of clearing a cargo that its port of destination is EG in kano. Nobody was intending to hijack or clear any cargo, it was just a case of the handling agent refusing to bribe the customs official that led to all this story. The handling agent should have requested for the cargo manifest before applying for a landing permit for the flight. If the regulatory body had asked for the manifest before granting the permit, all these will not be in the news. We can also attribute this to negligence on the part of the regulatory body (NCAA in this case) and the handling agent. |

Meanwhile. . . . https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-193538.0.html When a woman is independent, she's proud. When she's dependent, she's to clingy and needy. Just admit that most men are not comfortable with a woman that caters for her needs. |

ziga: Your post caught my eye, and i have a few questions.
Do you work with the Nigerian customs, SSS or the Kano airport?
Are these mere speculations?
Please enlighten me. I only happened to know about this incidence before it got to the media. |
Politics › Re: Plane Load Of Arms Impounded At Kano Airport. by argent(f): 1:37pm On Jun 18, 2009 |
debosky: As has been mentioned, the weapons were destined for Equatorial Guinea and not meant to be used by Kano State or any Nigerian entity. This was also inferred by the BBC:
It had made an emergency landing in the northern Nigerian city of Kano while on a flight to Equatorial Guinea.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8106348.stm
Granted the issue should be investigated thoroughly and conclusively, the speculations here leave a lot to be desired. Yes people have malevolent intentions in Nigeria, but not every incident can be linked to those intentions. Yes, the flight was going to malabo in equitoral guinea, if you check the world map you will see that calabar shares a boundary with malabo. The intention was to get the ammunitions to malabo and transport it back to calabar for distribution. It only takes three days to get to calabar from malabo with a canoe. |
Politics › Re: Plane Load Of Arms Impounded At Kano Airport. by argent(f): 1:04pm On Jun 18, 2009 |
The flight was meant to only land in kano for refuelling (what is referred to as a technical stop), but because the handling agent refused to part with N500 or thereabout to the customs official on duty at that time, they decided to call the SSS to look inside the aircarft and the rest is what we are reading in the papers.
The point is that many flight carrying ammunition come to nigeria almost on daily basis, this is only in the news because the handling agent refused to bribe the customs on duty at the tarmac. The entire nigerain system is corrupt. |

It is possible to have a bright future in fashion designing. First of all believe in yourself and make your dreams come true, dont allow people to discourage you and also have a target market (this will actually help you to stay focused). In addition be creative, dont disappoint your customers, be willing to go extra miles, keep abreast of what is happening in the fashion world so you can ahead of your competitors. Start advertising by wearing your clothes, post some pictures here and offer to sew for your family members too. |
