The test is going to be obj. Brush up ur engg maths, basic mechanical engg principles and formulas in thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of machines, etc. Wish u all the best.

As I said earlier, I got d text. D department is actually Mech and Mechatronics Engrg.

I was fortunate to get across to d dept today and I was told even if u didn't get d sms but u av d following u can attend d Written test on Wednesday, by 9am, Ikole Campus.

1: First class or Second class upper
2: NSE or COREN Graduate membership
3: Journal or published paper.

Confirmed.

I av been on Nairaland for long but don't talk unless I av valid information.
I know many pple wil doubt dis, but if u stay close to Ekiti, gate Crash and see if its true or nt.

I don't even know ao to get to d Campus myself.

There is nothing difficult in that statement that you shouldn't understand..'only Phd holders will be shortlisted' doesn't mean that they will be called for GA or AL. they will definitely be called for a higher cadre. in other words, no GA or AL was shortlisted in the dept of microbiology. Phd holders are placed on cadre Lecturer 2 and above. hope its clearer now?

Information for those who applied to faculty of science. The shortlisted candidates list has just been sent to d registry as at yesterday so no one has been called for test or interview yet. For those who applied to microbiology dept, only phd holders will be shortlisted. Thank you

asala1: Rod production? Ajaokuta is more than a rod producing plant. Nigeria is not serious.

Only this guy has hit the nail. Without the blast furnace at Ajaokuta being completed, there is no commercial hope for steel production. The blast furnace needs iron ore concentrate from itakpe , coal from Enugu coal mines, and limestone from deposits scattered in Nigeria. Without these raw materials, there is no sane and viable production of billets for steel making that can be commercially marketable. Importing the billets is not the best because the production cost will be too high and the company will run at a loss.

Alright, due to my engineering background, am highly interested in Network design, maintenance and troubleshooting and also, internet/intranet security.

eddiebruk: You have a PhD and want Nairalanders to enlighten you more on what decision to take, really that shows your degree is highly questionable, mind you as an ICT tech, you should straighten your pact in decision making, although this should have been done before your Mechanical Eng degree, but as the deed has already been done, best bet is for you to take up Certifications in ICT, there are Qualifications in ICT that can Certify you being qualified enough to take up a teaching career in ICT.

Mr Eddiebruk, i didnt say i have Phd in info tech, if u read well, i said i passed out with a Phd grade in Msc information tech, meaning i had a grade that can qualify me to pursue a Phd program in information technology. understand?

Dear Nairalanders, i am a graduate of mechanical engineering since year 1998, and i came out with a second class upper honours. i had always craved to be an IT professional, and thereafter i did my professional exams in CISCO CCNA and CISCO CCNP in 2007 and 2008 respectively. i later enrolled for my masters in information technology at the open university of Nigeria and i passed out with a grade that qualifies me to pursue a Phd in info tech. efforts to be a lecturer in information technology in several schools i applied to proved abortive. i was told i dont have my first degree in computer science or info technology.
i am now thinking, should i re-enroll for my first degree in computer science? if yes, since the degree awarded date will precede the masters degree awarded date, wont this affect my being considered for lecturing or any career prospects in my new career (ie. computer/ICT)?
please enlightened people in the house, help your brother with advice.
