Sir, your analogy is wrong. Reuben said that because he acted in faith, he was ready to take responsibility for Benjamin. He believed God was going to help him bring the boy back. The reasoning you drew from this story to conclude and apply it to everyday Christian life is not logically correct. Looking critically at what Reuben told his father "take my two sons if I don't bring Benjamin back".this does not allign at all to compromise in our Christian work, Reuben was not compromising. He wasn't forfeiting something for something. He was portraying to his father that he was going to do everything possible to bring Benjamin safe. In fact, what he was saying can be synonymous to a believer saying "if I ever commit so and so sin again, God kill me".
God help us to understand His word better.
