Aside Oyigbo LGA and Egbema in Onelga, there is no Igbo whatever in Rivers state..you are just lying to yourself..because about 100 or less persons took to the streets to wail about the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, you have decided you run PH..you Igbos have been noticed..
Our stand on the issue has been made clear, we regard Ipob as miscreants and any other protesters will be treated as such next time. you are not ikwerre. mazeltov: Biafra is the last thing I would think about. In fact I would think about the functions of my nokia charger before I would think about Biafra. Does it hurt? My bad!! I not just bothered why? Ojukwu didn't start like this. Ojukwu as a war lord didn't start by insulting important personalities before he made his intention known to the world. Ojukwu used a formal, standard and a professional approach and that's why he had 'some' international backup. As in how do you expect me to help you when you are busy insulting people of my age? See forget about propaganda our media and some news paper outlets are feeding us, they are ready to couple any story just to make their money. Nigeria never played into the hands of any body or thing and that is how it will continue. If he wasn't released, do you want to go and affront the Dss? Things have changed aroud the world, the game has shifted. If you cannot properly and effectively oversight diplomacy in the world then forget about being recognised and how do you intend to achieve that? Someone says by insulting people and tribe on radio. Lolzz. Biafra alone cannot deliver itself. It the truth is bitter then add some sugar. Oh!! Somebody is talking about war, war? well the world is too busy right, people fear world war III is not far away, call it ''cowardice'' for all i care buh i don't want to experience nuclear ''w'' not to talk of ''ar'' menh war is boring. .See my brothers, the difference between Ojukwu and Kanu is so clear. the bar set by Ojukwu is too high for any inexperience youth to attain unless he surrounds himself with elderly men who will be giving him solid advice. You can't just come to Nigeria and dish out your normal routine hate speech and later jet off to your base in U.k. Let's ask ourselves, who is a true leader between ojukwu and kanu? Jesus, I am comparing bugatti with honda. If Ojukwu is still alive, will he allow people like kanu to control the realm or go wayward? But my fellow friends on Nairaland are so deluded and confusing like Mary kay powder, even the so called educated ones are not exempted, even if civilisation is crumbling, does it mean the our sensei should be demolished? Let me stop here. ...and you wrote this letter without thinking. |

kostadinis: A true ikwerre should have known the tribal components of Rivers state and here you failed woefully. A true Ikwerre should have known about Ogba, Egbema, Ndoni and Obigbo. These are Igbos of RIVERS STATE.
On the other hand, NOT all Ikwerre deny being Igbo. Isaac Mahowu the Deputy President of Ohaneze Ndigbo is a proud igbo man and a lot others. Diobu is a historically well documented Igbo enclave of Aro ancestry. All Ikwerre and Etche deities are IGBO including the Ojukwu of Diobu. So, what the hell are you talkng? Go learn your history and geography. Na afoto onu! Nonsense!
Or better still, learn from your brother HopeAtHand. He misbehaves most of the time but will readily admit that Ikwerre "were once Igbo". And that "Diobu is of Aro ancestry". With respect to the Okirikans, PH and Rivers state smacks of Igbo. there is no need wasting your time. hopeathand has never been known to be ikwerre. Many ikwerre sons have on this forum suggested that his is an impostor. Even the idiot you are quoting is yoruba. Romance › Re: What Parents Do That Make Their Daughters Sex-starved! by Armaggedon: 10:22pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
AwesomelyMade: I grew up in a location where there were quite a good number of good looking girls coupled with my beautiful sisters. I wasn’t really after women; I had this reserved nature that made me had less male friends and no female friends. It was a “hi-hi” relationship with girls. Notwithstanding, some females still sneaked into our house to have some ‘fun’.
I tried to study the few girls that acted that way and I discovered that they were the girls that their parents were so strict with them. In fact I had one girl that always sneaked in when the mum was away, the mum never sees her with a boy, then it would turn to a bad day for her. And one thing about this kind of strictness is that it doesn’t look at age. This lady, the age of my eldest sister, played with my budding breast ‘soteeeeey’. When her dad is away, she comes around.
Luckily for me, they real urge for sex started when I was past 20 years. Therefore I didn’t have real sex with them, I only kissed.
On a more serious note, don’t guard your daughter as if you live in her clothes, you don’t know what she is doing when you are not around. Just teach her the implications of bad acts and the reward of good acts. Help her to make good choices in life. The more you try to strain her relationships with good people, the more she does anything she can to have her own way. One of the greatest feelings of girls is the feeling of being wanted. When you as a parent, tries to shrivel that desire, she devises her own means to satisfy those feelings.
On a final note, “If you stop your girl from making friends outside, she will end up being pregnant for your gateman”.
Think about it! you are correct |

wisdomguy4u: The section of the constitution you quoted simply states that the senate can only approve a ministerial list which gives effect to the federal character in which appointment is made at least one minister from each state, who shall be an indigene of such State.
The constitution never said the senate can approve a ministerial list on trust even though it does not conform with the required provision for appointment. if what the op quoted is true then any action taken by the senate regarding the list will not stand the test of litigation. It is clear enough. It says 'any appointment'... |

Op like i said your article is a nice attempt but lack intellectual dept for some reasons which are not wise.
If you acknowledge that Igbo groups have a lot of cultural variations, you wouldn't dare compare Igbo as a whole with benin much more placing entire Igbo under benin cultural hegemony.
Various groups interacted and influenced each other but you gave us the impression that the influence was one sided in favour of edo.
How can igbo kingship be modelled after benin when nri kindom is the oldest in Nigeria. Nri and arochukwu are traditional igbo igbo kindoms while almost the rest are republican.
Only the Obi system found in Abo, Agbor, Onitsha, Asaba and other western Igbos were inherited from Benin. Other Ezes found in central Igbo were copied from existing Nri and aro system with slight moification during colonial days including Igwe system.
Also Igbo groups influenced other groups including Edo. Ever wondered why there is Aniocha in Delta and Anaocha(including Nri) in Anambra?
Do you know that some Isoko towns claim Igbo origin?
Like i said if you cant provide facts to back up your claims then your article should be taken for what it is- an ode to your benin tribe. |

spanishkid: you even have time to reply insecure igbo losers. How is edo landlocked? Edo has many rivers and access to international waters. Gele Gele and Agenebode have access to international waters. If edo was landlocked how did the Portuguese come to Benin to trade? Common sense is not common amongst igbos. They are cursed. Funny enough no south east state is as rich as edo or even has half of what edo has. Na jealousy dey worry them. Bros I've been to their region and after the north in terms of poverty they're next. A tribe of people who use pawpaw leaf to cook stew. Igbos are a disease. The thief I shot trying to scale my fence earlier this week was igbo. Their women are very cheap. Do you know you can sleep with their women for as low as one plate of peppersoup and one bottle of malt? A very useless tribe indeed. Don't be deceived by what they say here on nairaland. They have nothing. Why do you think they're trying to include south south in their failed biafran dream? look at this son of an aged prostitute. Frustration is your problem have you ever wondered why edo is the most rejected tribe in nigeria-edo is excluded in ojukwu's map, it is excluded in uwazurike's map, edo is missing in nnamdi kalu's map. Most south southerners do not regard edo as one of them as the known south south ethnic groups are Ibibio ijaw itshekiri and some igbos. They see edo as back stabbers. Even yoruba whom edo have related with for most part since independence do not accept them. I wonder what you take the word 'cursed' to be and why you didnt ascribe your current predicament to it. Why are you crying like a castrated dog? Is it my fault that benin is the prustitution and witchcraft capital of the world? a small tribe yet mightly evil am sure you are a product of an 'accident' in Holland okpo! |

Op, you are not serious. Next time do well to back up strong statement involving claim with citations. You erred by making claims of benin cultural hegemony over Igbo even when it is clearly unfounded. This clearly gives you away as a benin supremacist. You denied by saying you're from 'Delta'. If your article is not influenced by ethnic bias, why dont you mention your ethnic group since this is a cultural thread and Delta is not an ethnic group. |

There is nothing provocative nor insultive about my writeup. Saying that Igbos modelled their system after the Benin does not in any way imply that the Igbos are from Benin or that Igbos copied Benin. The current system of hereditary monarch practised in almost all South-Southern and South-Eastern ethnic nationalities are akin to that of the Benin kingdom. It is in no doubt that the influence of the old Benin kingdom spread even as far as Cotonou in Benin Republic. The current Obi system in Onitsha, Deinship in Agbor, Asagbaship in Asaba, among other, were all modelled after the Benin system. The reason for this is that most of these rulers looked up to the Oba as a symbol of royalty and hegemony. Even in Urhobo and Isoko land, as well as Lagos, the monarchical system is like that of Benin. One cannot simply relegate the influence of Benin Kingdom, especially in the reign of Oba Ewuare the Great, to the shadows. Beads, as we know them now, were made popular by the Benin Kingdom of old and there is virtually no Igbo palace that doesn't make use of beads. There are so many things that were adapted by the Igboid cultures from Benin. However, in all these, Igbos were never subject to Benin nor were they ever conquered by any Oba. In essence, do not misinterpret my statement. The Igbo nation has its own systems and cultural bias. However, the widespread monarchical renaissance of the old Benin kingdom has directly or indirectly shaped their traditional system of leadership. Secondly, I mentioned that Igbo women dress like Benin women. This statement was made only in comparative terms and nothing more. This comparative level being that Edo was presented before Igbo. well when i saw the write up i wanted to ask 'are you Edo'? But i refused for fear of being accused of 'attacking the person' instead of the argument. I knew you were a benin supremacist when you said ikwerre is disputed as an igbo tribe. Yes There is the dispute but it is only political. Hence you hear such in political discourse. cultural piece that is well researched do not come to that conclusion. Only an edo supremacist who wants to prey on some fictitious claim of benin origin (for political reason) by few ikwerre pple will write that. As for your claim of igbo system being modelled after benin, it simply shows the extent ethnicity is engraved into the psyche of an average Nigerian. |
