Okay, wait a minute, on what premise is this thread opened on? no stats, nothing what-so-ever, just assumptions.
Aba is the biggest city in the South-East. (7th in Nigeria), so yeah, it will naturally have a lot of Industries. But then figures show that Otta is the third largest manufacturing hub in Nigeria . The first two must be in Lagos state.
there is no stat to comare states, then where did you get "stats" that otta is the third largest industrial whatever?

Guy, just let sleeping dogs lie, biko!

If you persist in this line of questioning, 3 things will happen:

1). The pro-Biafran internet army will label you as a 'Yoruba' person, out to pollute their camp. It doesn't matter if you are Gwari, Bachama, Efik or Nupe; wink

2). They will unleash vicious attacks against you, your background, your lineage and ethnic group for a list of real and imaginary sins you have committed against them, using their ideology of hate; sad

3). Their biased mods will yank your thread off NL and dump it in the land of the unseen, without offering you any explanations. Ask Rossike.

While your efforts at trying to get answers are quite laudable, my advice to you is kindly do not bother. It isn't worth the stress. A lot of people want them gone, as soon as possible. We are tired of their culture of blame. undecided
unfortunately it wasnt them who quoted him but a yoloba man who sees igbo masquerade in his dreams.

Not everyone is as ignorant about his race as you are. My closest friend in this life of close to 30 years is Apoi. He is very Yoruba as me (an Ibadan man) both in Language, name and culture. If I drop his surname, no true Apoi will not that recognize that name. Sowore the publisher of SAHARAREPORTERS is an Apoi Ijaw from ondo state. Just do a google search of APOI IJAW and learn. Their language has a rhythmic similarities with the Ilaje, Ekiti, Awori dialect.

Good for you, anyway it seems like you have gotten a hold of the Wikipedia page, what is the very first statement that you can you read?

The Awori are a tribe of the Yoruba people speaking a distinct dialect of the Yoruba language.

Case closed.
u re still repeating the same thing without proof
my take is that aworis, ilajes and eguns and other coastal pple of south west are of ijaw stock. prove otherwise and stop repeating same thing.

For crying out loud watch yourself. All the names you've mentioned are just the different dialects of spoken Yoruba, Ijebu for example is an Ogun state dialect.

Please change the name of the thread as you are making it seem like Yorubas are confused people, we are all the same from western Nigeria to Togo.

And please google is your friend.

Again google is your friend, Egun is a Yoruba word, Ijebus are famous due to there very powerful YORUBA army, and which Aworis, Aworis are 100% Yoruba, the name means the plate has sunk in Yoruba.
Your explanation is so dry. How can you say that egun and awori are yoruba words therefore they are yorubas.
Do you know edo means yellow in igbo. Does that mean Edo pple are Igbos?
Try harder.

Egun are clearly not yoruba, awori have repeatedly warned against being called yoruba.
An ijebu chief last month insisted they are from sudan and not yoruba. I think a proper study needs to be done to avoid lumping pple with another group against their will.

stevedure:
NASA has confirmed that the Earth will experience 15 days of total darkness between November 15 and November 29, 2015. The event, according to NASA, hasn’t occurred in over 1 Million years.

Astronomers from NASA have indicated that the world will remain in complete darkness starting on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3 a.m. and will end on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 4:15 p.m. According to officials, the ” November Black Out” event will be caused by another astronomical event between Venus and Jupiter.

Charles Bolden, who was appointed to head of NASA by President Obama, issued a 1000 page document explaining the event to the White House.

According to the report, on October 26, 2015, Venus and Jupiter will engage in a close parallelism, only being separated by 1 degree. Venus will pass to the southwest of Jupiter, causing Venus to shine 10 times brighter than Jupiter. The light from Venus will heat up the gases on Jupiter causing a reaction.

The gaseous reaction will release an unprecedented amount of Hydrogen into Space. The Hydrogen gas will make contact with Earth’s sun at approximately 2:50 a.m. The amass amount of Hydrogen making contact with the sun will cause a massive explosion on the Sun’s surface. The explosions will cause the Sun’s surface temperature to increase to 9,000 degrees Kelvin in an instant.

The sun will then attempt to cease the explosions by emitting heat from its core. The heat will cause the Sun to dim to a bluish color. Once the sun reaches the bluish color, it will take approximately 14 days to restore its normal surface temperature, returning its normal color to the Red Giant.

While the sun is cooling the surface, the light from the sun will be much dimmer. Because it takes anywhere from 7 to 8 and a half minutes depending on the Earth’s rotation for light from the sun to hit Earth, people will not know the event has happened until 2:58 a.m. on November 15th.

Some areas of the world may experience brief moments of light for 7 to 8 minutes, but the Earth will then go back to complete darkness until the Sun’s surface temperature has been restored.

Ori eyin omo Igbo yi ti gbale ooo...bi omode ko ba batan a ba aroba, aroba ni baba itan.please don't ask me to translate this to English. Now to the question,Lagos means "lakes" in Portuguese, the language of first European-settlers known to visit the settlement, then already inhabited by the Awori people, in 1472. From the first contacts with the region until the early 20th century, another Portuguese name for the city that was interchangeably used was Onim, finally abandonned in favor of Lagos.

Prior to Lagos being adopted, the settlement was called Eko by its Kingdom of Benin conquerors, which stems from Eko ("war camp"wink.
