Igbo produced religion? You can't just accept your limitations without convincing yourself others have it too, just assuage your insecurity. Igbos are more spiritual than religious Yorubas make merchandise of religion Hausa/Fulani make violence out of it. |

Tellmeastory: He wrote that after contact with Europeans who convinced him that the language he spoke indicated the ‘tribe’ he ‘belonged to’.
In precolonial days, if you went “outside Igboland”, you did NOT “retain your Igbo consciousness and identity”.
Quite the opposite.
You would quickly shed it and adapt the culture and language of your new abode, or you would literally starve!!
You would even change your name to fit in with your new community.
If you don’t know how it worked in the old days, go and ask your elders. source: probably |

It's a lie. Anambra has always been doing well in Education except during the one year strike of 2001. He doesn't even have his fact to back up claim that Anambra was performing poorly before he came. Anambra never went on strike for 2 years but one.
Lastly, I wonder what a high scoring unity school candidate of Anambra origin born in 2014 in Abuja has to do with Peter Obi administration in Anambra. Lol Obi is obviously a rabble rouser. |

Culture › Re: Obi Of Onitsha Narrates Migration Of His Ancestors From Benin And Ife by Armaggedon: 9:17am On May 25, 2024 |
Abagworo: Eze wasn't Priest but King subjectively. Ezeji, Ezede, Ezeogwu, Ezeala, Ezenwanyi, Ezeogo, Ezeagwu etc meant King of different subjects including dieties. Igbos also had Obi as leader by inheritance but different from Eze. Obi was a first son of other first sons and his abode is known as Isiobi.
While Eze is an expert or king of a field Obi is a leader of people. Igbos say "Obi aka Eze" which means Obi even though a leader is not bigger than a King. Your post and examples validated my point. Eze alludes to spiritual authority or gift not political authority. Traditional Igbo society had no kings who ruled but spiritual authority who reigned such as Eze Nri. Eze Agwu means an Agwu priest Eze nwanyi means a female priest or priestess Eze ogwu means someone gifted in medicine or a native doctor. Ezemuo means chief priest etc Most traditional rulers that bear Igwe title still bear Eze title signifying their spiritual authority. Igbo conceptualisation of monarchy is spiritual and very less political. |

Abagworo: Igwe is used only in Northern Igboland ie Anambra and Enugu States. In other parts of Igboland it is either Eze or Obi. not quite correct. It was Eze in most parts of Igboland before the present form of traditional monarchy fabricated by Britain. Eze largely means priest. Original Igbo traditional setting has a priest reigning which some call priest king such as the Eze nri while other groups do various other jobs. |

You have to learn the difference between tribe and nation before pontificating.
That your ethnic group did not evolve a common identity does not mean Igbos didn't. Yes! Igbos identified with their respective tribes within Igboland but outside Igboland embraced their Igbo consciousness and Identity. Olaudah Ikwuano wrote " I am Igbo" in his book in 1700s. |

gidgiddy: Mischief makers who dont understand what the Obi of Onitsha said because they don't understand Igbo language
What the Obi of Onitsha said is that Onitsha are Igbos who initially left the East and ventured to Ife(Ado) but later had a misunderstanding with Ife people, then decided to return home. On their way back, they passed through Bini(Idu), crossed the River Niger and and settled in present day Onitsha. He also said that those Igbos founded several communities along the way back to the East, the Igbos of Delta State(Anioma)
He was adamant that they were initially Igbo, not Ife or Bini. Onitsha was founded by Igbos who were reverse-migrating he even said it was not only Onitsha that lived there but other Igbos too lived in Ado before returning as a result of disagreement. |

favor914: It is one thing to write, did the Pdp accept their defection?
Has The INEC declared their seats vacant? They have already left their party, PDP can reject their defection but that doesn't make them their members. You can't force someone to be a member of a party. Even if PDP NWC succeed in their suit to bring them back to the party, they'll never regain their seats in the house because they officially left their party in the house. |

And where is the letter acknowledged by PDP to show they receive notice of decamping from them?
Anybody can snap picture or talk, have we not seen PDP members singing “on your mandate we shall stand”? they can sort it out with the APC. The suit was filed by the house not PDP. The house has evidence of their defection which is this letter. |

Na the matter we still dey settle now
PDP is shameless though..smh they already announced their defection in the floor of the house. As far as that is concerned, their seats are vacant. They can still fight for their PDP membership if they want but not HOA. |

The Eastern economic axis of Anambra, Delta, Imo and Rivers is the real economic backbone of the country. Lagos is enjoying artificial monopoly.
I foresee Lagos GDP just like Ogun state recording a decrease owing to the increasing hostile business and political atmosphere and also terrible FG policies that are chasing foreign investors away. However, I see that of Abia, Delta, Imo and Anambra increasing owing to increasing volume of investment and gas/oil activities. |
