I don't think any other person as president would have done anything differently to avert your list. Nobody knows what to do to turn the titanic ship around.
I wouldn't blame pres Biden much... but he should not forgive students loan.

Food is so expensive too!

Botragelad:

Americans can be funny people and sometimes different, don't you think? One thing that always baffles me is what they call a biscuit. It's completely different from what is called a biscuit in the UK. A biscuit to the brit is a small, flat, baked good that is usually sweet and crunchy. Like digestives, custard creams, hobnobs. Dunk them in your tea or have them as a snack.

But a biscuit to them is a soft, flaky, savoury bread that is often served with butter, jam, or honey. This thing called biscuit and gravy is not a meal in the UK because no one would eat that together, doubt that, except you pay a trip to the US. Biscuit and gravy is when they smother their biscuits with a thick, white sauce that has bits of sausage in it. They have it for breakfast or brunch.

Biscuit and gravy in the USA is what I will call scone and sausage casserole in the UK, quite similar. It's not a very common dish , but some people might make it for a hearty dinner. They use scones instead of biscuits, and they bake them with sausages and cheese in a casserole dish. Then they pour over some gravy made from stock, flour, and butter. It sounds quite tasty, actually.
Have you ever tasted an English biscuit, mate? And I don't mean the ones Americans call biscuit. I mean the proper biscuits that are crunchy and sweet.

On top biscuits and gravy you kum write the long epistle according to Botragelad? shocked grin
I like walker's short bread. Once in a while, I do eat digestives and Jacob Cracker. Hope it is English enough grin
I like Starbucks blueberry scone and white chocolate mocha wink

Hello, I'm glad you're enjoying your meal. That's a proper nosh you've got there. I can see the big cars in the car park. That's so American. Everything about America is big. You've got big portions, big buildings, big personalities. It's quite impressive.

Where else would you like to eat if not Cracker Barrel? Do you have a favourite cuisine or dish? I'm curious to know what you fancy. Some of their signature dishes are chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, and biscuits and gravy. You should try some of these!

Biscuits and gravy...taste good.

You don't need to share your trip back on a Multiple Stops ticket which only broke people buy because it's cheaper than a direct flight ticket. Go back to Yankee and hussle quickly because it's like money don day finish. No need to make yourself happy saying you are touring Frankfurt because of a 5 hour layover. No one cares

It's like the broke diasporians are the ones that like showing off!

I am a Nigerian/American, I based here in the US, I visits Nigeria two to three times a year. What the article describes is 100 % accurate in my opinion.
The only missing part is that, the person did not mention how most people smell sweaty. They Don’t use deodorants . I hope they teach that in Nigeria schools as part of a curriculum,It is that bad. Order for room service in hotels , the room smells will change as soon as the waiters enters your room. Some smell so bad, even air freshener can’t mask the smell. Bath three times a day, don’t not matter, if you don’t use deodorant , you are going to smell.

Maybe deodorant is too expensive for the common man.

Some people will say it’s jazz, while others will say it’s not. I once met this man, he was based in London, a well to do man oh. All of a sudden I heard he is back in Nigeria, like this man did not wait to resign at his place of work in London, he came back home with just a few belongings and that’s all. Even all the money in his bank account is there. Till today, he is in one bush in Ondo state buying n selling snails

I pray we know how to manage our individual life...so many things happening - one you can control and the ones you can't control! If one doesn't know how to navigate this life journey, one can go nuts!

Negative Stress is not a joke.

Who told you it takes 20yrs to get a house abroad?

It takes more years to pay off mortgage.

Unless you buy a home with cash paid down right away. Most mortgage - 30years but you can pay off early if you have big chunk of money to pay.

It is well. Hopefully, they do well enough in their studies in Nigeria to finish High School and were of good behavior while in Germany. They may be able to secure funding for their undergraduate studies in Germany.

I hope they do well too.

How can they secure funding to go study in the same country that deported them ?
