Ijaws only live in the coast

Now leave here

Thanks
Don’t mind that one jare. See below. Can there be oil spillage in an area without oil?
All the areas are in Ilaje LGA in Yorubaland.

Oil spillage destroys farmlands in Ondo communities

https://punchng.com/oil-spillage-destroys-farmlands-in-ondo-communities/

The residents of the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State have called on the state government to assist them following the destruction of their farmland by oil spillage.

The communities affected include Awoye, Muse, Gbakura, Akintola, Jero, Odopado, Oroto, Aiyetoro, Okeunla, Okupi and Ogundeje Communities.

It was gathered that the spillage was caused by exploration activities of an oil company.

Ogun state is a disgrace. A big one at that. Osun state that doesnt even generate half of what Ogun gets monthly can boast of more good roads than Ogun.

Ogun state have the worst road in the whole of SW if not the whole of Nigeria self.

The only good thing about Ogun state is that the state is unarguably better in HDI than every other SW states other than Lagos. I think other SW states should emulate the state on that one. I commend Ogun state indigenes on that. If other Western Nigeria states can improve on their HDI, sky will sure be our starting point as the abroad of Nigeria.
You are right, no doubt, but you know Osun’s good roads/infrastructure came at a huge cost/sacrifice - high state debt - during the tenure of Rauf Aregbesola. The man really tried, kudos to him.

Gbenga Daniel was Ogun governor for 8 years (2003-2011) and virtually nothing was done to improve the
roads despite good federal allocation from high oil price.

to be frank, SW has one of the best (if not the best) human development index in the country. Although, I agree that education has no limit and should be rigorously pursued at every sphere.

But if our present leaders do not build infrastructures after acquiring education during their time, how would we rate them? We can all attest to the fact that the late Obafemi Awolowo was well educated and his education was put to use during his days at the helm of affairs in western Nigeria.

We can also agree that our current SW leaders are also investing in education (all forms), but that shouldn't be all, they need to build infrastructures to spur the economy of the region.

And using ur analogy, people do build societies, our current leaders were educated and they're currently building our societies and also laying the foundation for future yorubas through education..... Then the youths of today will be the leaders of tomorrow, they'll also build societies, permissibly, in a bigger and better way.
God bless you. Well said.

Ibadanites do boat rides here for leisure.

The Oyo state govt has entered into a Public Private Partnership to develop an adventure park along the waterfront.
Wow shocked

This beautiful water in Ibadan; it is breathtaking.

I hope the Governor can come through with the planned adventure park.

Thank you Tonim. Wonderful picture!

The earlier my fellow Yorubas realize that igbos doesnt love you the better for them .All they are after is to mock you after your downfall.Any Yoruba doing anything with igbo or fulani is going to regret it at the end .Igbo and fulani have been friends since BALEWA/AZIKWE Government in 1959.So forget that trash of igbos telling you they hate fulanis,Igbos and fulanis are allies ,YORUBAS DONT BE FOOLED.
I understand if you say they don’t like us, but to say they are allies. I disagree. Just my opinion.

Abeokuta needs a large central park with beautiful trees, green lawn, lake/pond etc. Similar to Agodi
Gardens in Ibadan.

It can be built in two or three phases to spread out costs.

The govt can partner with the private sector.

People would drive from Lagos for the fresh air and beauty of nature.

It would also boost tourism ( and IGR) for Ogun State.

shocked Chinese presence in Ibadan now? Wawu. Lebanese used to have Ibadan on total lockdown. Wimpys, Foodco, Koko dome, Zartech and many others. Even many don't know ex first lady, Florence Ajimobi is Lebanese. There are couple Europeans too working with multinationals like British America Tobacco, research like IITA and others. I think constructions here and there brought the Chinese community to our beautiful, ancient fast developing city. Wonderful. Thanks for the picture Tonim. You are simply amazing.
The Lebanese still have a large presence in Ibadan and yes, Florence Ajimobi’s dad is Lebanese.

There are at least 5-6 chinese restaurants in Ibadan alone and I think Lebanese might even be more.

Lagos State recently launched a 5 year agriculture road map to move food sufficiency from 18% currently to at least 50% in five years.

Good and much needed initiative, in view of where Nigeria seems to be heading, other SW States should embrace as joint agenda.
Great idea!

Lagos should have a joint venture with other SW states and the private sector. Besides food sufficiency, there is plenty of money to be made. It will be a win win!

veraponpo: Sohuhhuh? We should do what?

This is too open sir. It is glaring you are pained. Sorry, it is not our fault that Lagos is developing, it is not our fault that we are having record of the good 'first'-first primary school, secondary school, technical college, university, skyscrappers, stadium, television, etc. It is not our fault that there was civil war in the East and pogrom in the North. It is not our fault that there is Boko Haram in the North, Kidnapping (adultnapping) in the East, militancy in Niger-Delta. It is not our fault that the only internationally recognized city in Nigeria is Lagos and the most innovative city in Africa, Ekiti is the best in ICT and Osun best in education for 2012.

Sorry, if the Africa's richest woman Mrs Folorunsho Alakija does not make you happy, it is not her fault, if you are marveled at why entertainment thrives only and majorly in Lagos, it is not our fault. You wonder why D'banj is recognized and respected? It is not his fault. The only grammy nominees in Nigeria has always been Yorubas-King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti(3 times). It is not our fault that Asa is doing well internationally.

It is not our fault that the music legend Fela Kuti is Yoruba and his mum was the first to drive a car while Madam Tinubu was the first woman to own a car, sorry it is not their fault.

Haters you can go and die.

The way Tinubu is awaiting his jail time. the yorrobber tribe will never be taken seriously any where in the world and will continue to be a stepping stool for igbos and hausas, atleast until they stop worshiping illiterates, thieves, crooks, armed robbers and extol the only hero in the entire yorobbercave soyinka.
Mr Globe, are you by any chance an Osu ?

The Osu Caste System in Igboland: Discrimination Based on Descent

http://uk.geocities.com/internationaldalitsolidarity/cerd/dikeosu2002.html

The Osu, by definition, is a people sacrificed to the gods in Igbo community. And they assist the high priest of the traditional religion to serve the deities or the gods in their shrine. It is the belief of many Igbo traditionalists that the deities, which were (and are still) perceived in some quarters as being very powerful, would wreck havoc in the society, if they are not appeased.

In some special circumstances, those who hold the traditional beliefs of the Igbos could transform a Diala who committed certain atrocities against the land, into an Osu. This process involved intricate rituals (offering of libations and sacrificing animals to the earth goddess). Some of the ancestors of the present-day Osu people inherited their dehumanizing social status this way.

Because of many oral interpretations of the construct, the Osu has various definitions. It has been defined as a ‘cult slave,’ a living sacrifice,’ an ‘untouchable,’ ‘outcast,’ ‘owner’s cult,’ ‘a slave of the deity,’ and a ‘sacred and holy being.’ 3 These names mean the same: it is an abomination in the Igbo society for the Diala to marry Osu.

All human beings are created equal, but human experiences are heterogeneous. Some people have had it rough all their life on earth, while others do not have a lot to complain about. Naturally, life has the same meaning for everyone, but the Osu caste system in Igboland seems to have changed the meaning of life for a group of people branded Osu

Osu are people our igbo ancestors used to do sacrifies to the gods for the difficulties they faced then, which includes disease, lack of rain, poor farm produce, children and babies dieing etc.

The gods then asked for human sacrifies to help with these issues. When a sacrifice is offered to gods it is damned evil to touch those things.

Even in the bible when Abraham offer sacrifice to God, nobody eats the sacrify, it is burn to ashes.

The stigma that Osu have had today this that they were used for gods sacrifice and dimmed to the igbos as outcast.

To my understanding, most of then are very wealthy and brilliant people, their girls are very beautiful.

I myself will NEVER marry osu, not because I don't like them. It is because of the stigma the igbos has on them. For example, they do not involve in active igbo events. No one will elect an osu person as a governor, local chairmen, Eze, Chief, etc.

If an Osu people tries to speak on behalf of the igbo he/she is immediately discredited, because of this stigma. I still have great ambitions for myself and would not want something to hold me back.

If you are not igbo you can never understand. This thing will NEVER go away and I feel very sorry for them. We call it Ome na ala (The law of our land) We cannot leave ome na ala and start to do ome na elu (Not the law of the land)

When you go to village and see how these people live, you would feel sorry from them. They do not trade because nobody would buy from them. In school nobody plays with osu children etc, it is really terrible.

If you want to leave in diaspora all your life, them marrying osu will not really affect you. But if you plan sometime in the future to return back to Nigeria, hmmm, you really have to be very careful. Remember we do not only mary for ourselfs we marry for children as well, you do not want to give our children a bad start in life.

I am sorry I have to say this, but this is the way it is and I did not make it so. Remember that osu are human being like us too.

1.What usually happens when you are given money you did not earn? (Remember, it is better to teach a man how to fish rather than ...)

2.What will happen when GEJ leaves office?

3.Isn't this setting precedent for Boko Haram and the likes?
