Hi, I called the IRCC recently to verify this. You can apply to work while on visitors visa(TRV). But the employer would have to pay some money to CIC and undergo some screening at ESDC to ascertain that the job the visitor intends to do requires a scarce skill.

mesh2003:

There is no circumstance that allows you to work temporarily or permanently under a visitors visa. Its a violation of the visas rule. You can only take a short course that is less than 6 months with a visitors visa.

Depending on where you are in Ikeja, take a bus going to Obalende or CMS. Drop at the last busstop. Take another bus going to Lekki Jakande. Drop at Ikate roundabout busstop, cross over to the other side of the road and walk into the estate gate. Immediately you enter the estate just walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes and you have arrived at your destination (Manor Hall)which would be on your left. You cannot miss it because immediately you enter the estate gate, you will see those photocopy guys, passport photo guys etc asking you if you need their services. be careful with them though. ensure you go straight to the building (manor hall) and talk to the security about your reasons for coming. They will issue you a number and let you into the compound and direct you to the Canada office. All the best.

Very Urgent please..Please can anyone give me detailed description to get to VFSglobal Lagos from Ikeja. I have the address (Manor Hall, Lekki Phase 1) from their website. I simply wanna know about bustops to alight and cabs to take to where. Thanks

When you get to Canada, you can apply as a visitor to work in Canada temporarily. You will be issued a work permit and a SIN number starting with 9 because you are not a resident or citizen. I dont know about using your visitor's visa for schooling though.

Igeoluwatobi:
Quick Question Pls!,
If I'm granted a 2 years Canada visit visa is there a way I can use it to work and also is there a way I can change the visit visa to study permit without coming to Nigeria?. Pls I need a definite answer! Bless

Asalam Alaikum everyone.

Please I want to ask what items are to be brought by the groom or groom's family for the Nikkai rights. I know of the dowry, but I am not sure if other items are also brought such as Quran, Hadith etc.

Awaiting your responses.

Buh dis case is quite subtle, buh I think if d person had followed d right protocol
He shouldn't av any issue.........If he had deferred d admission then there shouldn't be any cause for alarm.......U will meet with d management and continue ur program

@crowther15, thanks alot. Just to clarify, are you saying it is possible to continue from where he stopped? (he actually doesn't mind going back to maybe 300L as a form of refresher)

When you say management, do you mean the Senate or his faculty/dept? (Computer Science)

Hello all, I will appreciate if anyone can help me with information regarding the below matter:

Someone left Unilorin in year 2008 after 2nd semester 400 level. He had to leave because of financial problems which was affecting his grade in school. Unfortunately, he didnt take any leave of absence. He was able to get some jobs over the years and saved up some money. He intends to come back to Unilorin to complete his education now.

Please advice on the steps to take if this is possible.

Thank you

Travel / Re: A Comprehensive List Of The Documents Required For Visas by aronkyshire: 6:36pm On Jul 25, 2013
Good evening here.

Please has anyone applied to UK recently using ONLY scanned documents and got the Visa? I have never applied before and the person inviting me has sent all the needed documents in scanned form via email.

I heard that I have to submit all documents in both original form and extra copies in photocopied form. That the Home Office will keep the photocopies and return the originals. Please confirm so that I can send in my application with the right documents in the proper form.

The documents sent are: Invitation Letter, Utility Bills, Tax papers, Passport biodata page, payslip, resident permit, mortgage papers. Thank you

Pls vicjustice justwise and co. Help!!!!!!

quote author=aronkyshire]Hello All,
Thanks for this informative thread and thanks to all the contributors including those whose issues were reviwed here. My story goes thus:

1.I work in a small firm in nigeria. I have been with the firm since Jan 2012 and will bé going on leave in September 2013. I intend spending some part of my leave visiting the UK. I have never travelled before and my international passport is very new. Infact I just obtained it last month

2. My initial salary was 80k per month (960K per annum) making my total take home pay amount to a little over 71k after tax and pension reduction. After a year, I was promoted and my salary increased to 100K per month (1.2M per annum) making my total take home pay to bé a little over 88k. In may, there was a company wide review of Salary and everyone got a 15% salary increase making my current monthly pay to bé 115K per month (1.38M per annum). Therefore my current take home pay is a little over 101K after tax and pension deductions.

3. An old friend of mine who now has a Resident Permit in the UK has offered to invite me for the period of 10 days which I intend to spend visiting the UK. The documents he has sent to me are:

-Biodata page of passport,
-Utility bills
-Resident Permit
-Bank statement
-Temporary Job contract agreement (he is a contract staff)
-Pictures of both of us as evidence that we have been friends
-Waec/Neco cert indicating that we attending the same high school in Nigeria where our friendship started.

4. At my end, I have the following documents:

-Savings Bank statement (having 571K)
-Salary bank statemnt (having 20k)though im still expecting this july's salary of 101k
-Work ID, Employment letter, confirmation letter, promotion letter, letter of Introduction from my coy
-Admission from National Open University for my MBA though i havent started yet till next March.
-Waec/neco result showing that me and my friend inviting me went to the same high school
-Pics showing our friendship over the years.
-Payslips
-Tax clearance which my company is still working on getting for me.

MY PROBLEM
1. I intend applying in 1st week August which makes my 6 months statement to bé from Feb to July. The initial opening bal in my savings acct reads 117k. And all the 571k in the account was paid over a period of 3 months by my fiance who works in canada and does a not registered business on the side of sending laptops and phones for sale in naija. All d account records show his name as d depositor.

2. In May,(the 4th month in my 6 month statement) there was heavy activity in my savings account where my fiance deposited up to 1 million naira within one week into my account gotten from his business as he was trying to avoid the bank charges associated with paying more than 500k into his account at one time. That same month of May, i withdrew 500k twice in order to pay his 1M back into his account. Leaving the acct balance back at 135k.

3. In June because of my travelling plan, he paid 450k (spread over 2 weeks) into my acct making up the 571k i presently have in it now. Over the 6 months, i have been withdrawing too for personal upkeep.

4. My salary account is so low because i spend my money for the upkeep of my aged parents and younger siblings. My fiance practically supports me hence the payment of money into my acct all d time but obviously, d VO wont understand that.

(A)From my points listed above, do you think I have a case of money lodgement?
(B)If yes, how do you think I can explain with evidence that the money is available for my use?
(C) is it wise to say my fiance is sponsoring part of my trip since I an a working adult.
(D) are the documents I intend presenting OK? Or is there something missing?
(E)will the fact that my 1st issued international passport is just less than a month old pose a problem?

Thanks in anticipation of your kind replies. God bless you all[/quote]

Thank you so much Mustafamuazu. You have been a great help. When I checked the website, I saw that registration for both fresh and returing students for the new semester starts on March 1st. So I guess that is what the lady was talking about. In sha Allah I would obtain the form before the end of this month so that I can start as soon as possible. God bless you and please don't forget to share any other useful information you have.
Thanks
mustafamuazu: .

I joined october last year, & started with 1st semester. But if they say u can join this march & start with 2nd semester, then that means u can, because NOUN is very flexible

I have friends working at National Universities Commission(NUC), they are the ones who encouraged me. NOUN is a fully accredited and reliable university.

There are no lectures at the masters level. They give u material, u read and then answer questions online for C.A, then write exam at the study centre at the end of the semester. The only way to pass is to read. You don't have any contact with lecturers except through email.

During 3rd semester, u'll have to specialize in either Information technology, financial mgt, human resources or marketing.

Make sure u join NOUN asap. Highly recommended

Hi guys, Mustafamuazu, Moodstar, Metro10 and all the other NOUN MBA students here. I visited the NOUN headquarters in VI today to make enquiries about the MBA program. The lady I spoke with said I could buy the form and register anytime and join the lectures starting in March which is just next month. Now I find this quite odd.

1.Did any of you guys just join in at anytime? or there was a fixed period.
2.I still have doubts about the school because so far, I havent heard any positive or encouraging news about NOUN so please I would love it if you guys can tell me how reliable an MBA from NOUN is based on your experience and knowledge.
3.I have a BSc from OAU Ife and 3 years experience in Human Resources, I was told that I can specialise in Human Resources in my final semester, is that also true?
4.I heard they only offer full-time programs so how are you guys juggling work and study? What times are their lecture times? weekend, evenings? I intend going for the Ikeja study centre.

Thank you so much.

Intending NOUN MBA student.
