what I will like to see in Nigeria, is companies like Shell, glo, mtn and dangote plc; providing adequate funding for our universities. Its not too much to ask for. |
Cooperation between business and education is key to improvements in our schools. Universities in Countries like Germany have a stellar reputation with its industries. Companies frequently extend apprenticeships and internships even to high-school students. So young engineering grads and technicians have the opportunity to start careers with an intimate knowledge of their company's business. Companies start these programs because they are effective at developing employee who are productive the day they are hired. |
The only way for Nigerian universities to catch up their western counterparts is through funding. Here is how Manchester University do it. http://www.manchester.ac.uk/postgraduate/funding/ Quote The University of Manchester invested over £6.8m to support postgraduate research students in 2009/10. In addition to these internal funds, a substantial amount of funding was also generated from research councils, industry and other external sources. In research council funding alone, the University receives an average of £20 million per year to support its postgraduate taught and research degree students across a variety of disciplines. I don't see why big companies in Nigeria can't not help in funding our universities, Rich people across the country can also raise funds for our schools. But no! they would rather spend their monies abroad on their kids school fees and what not. |
since its now an open secret that IBB is the main sponsor of boko haram; why is the police/ss not arresting him? O sorry, I forgot IBB is bigger than Nigeria. |
some fake illiterate may be against me, because they want to divide the people for political gain. It make logical , economy and engineering sense to build a road from Ore to Benin. And not from calabar to benin. Or from Oka Akoko to auchi , than from Ogoja to Auchi or to Benin city.
Good idea. this is a better way to think. |
I agree with you. |
