enough, and he will go to

Community) in Enugu,
Owerri, Aba and in all the
Igboland and attack and kill
innocent northerners.
Then, there will be reprisal
this way and that way.
Then, Goodluck will not be
able to hold anybody again.
If they see any Ijaw man
to kill in the North, maybe a
Police Officer, Immigration
or Customs or Managerial
staff in NNPC in the North,
but if Ijaw people decide to
kill Northerners, every
major household in the
North will cry because in
Bonny Island alone, all the
prominent Northern families
are there in LNG and in
other oil companies there.
I can go home today and
ask them to close up
Bonny Island and the place
will be closed. There will be
no way for anybody to
escape and they will all be
killed. If that happens, the
cream of majority of North
in the oil and gas business
will be affected. So what
we are saying is that it is
the north that needs
peace more than us. We
have the resources in our
hand, even the presidency
is in our hands now, so
they are the ones that
need peace.
And everybody must
impress it on them that
they need peace. This road
they are going will not help
them. They say he who
the gods want to destroy,
they first make him deaf.
So, the north must
understand they need
peace more than any other
person. We can live
together but we need to
sit down and dialogue.
This arrogance will not
help them. They see the
truth and refuse to say it.
The north should ask their
leaders: the IBBs, Buharis,
Abdusalamis and all of
them, what did they do at
the period they were
ruling? Why did they fail to
develop the North? So,
what I am trying to say is
that Goodluck must
convoke a national
conference whether he
likes it or not.
This is the truth that they
have not learnt. People will
pay VAT in Lagos , and
you will share the VAT
from Lagos in Yobe. Then
somebody says he does
not drink alcohol. It is
haram to drink alcohol, to
buy alcohol, to receive
proceed from alcohol. So,
everybody in the north has
been eating haram. VAT
from alcohol is being
distributed. Why? Is that
justice? So, please, let us
sit down and talk.
There is need for national
discourse. It is only by
sitting down and dialoguing
that we can find solution
to our problem. In the
North, they should set up
Neighborhood Vigilante and
make sure that this
Vigilante protects the
people: the Church, the
Mosques and palaces of
the traditional rulers.

Unknown gunmen on
Thursday shot dead a 35-
year-old banker, Malam
Yakubu Abdullahi, in
Gwange, Layin Hajiya
Maituwon Yasin area of
Maiduguri.
Relatives of the deceased
told journalists in
Maiduguri on Friday that
Abdullahi was killed at
about 6.30pm while he was
eating in company of two
of his friends.
``The three of them were
breaking their Ramadan
fast in front of Abdullahi's
residence when the
gunmen struck.
“Two teenagers
appeared on foot with
AK-47 rifles and sprayed
bullets at them,'' the News
Agency of Nigeria quoted
Malam Usman Kolo, a
relative of the deceased,
as saying on Friday.
Kolo said that Abdullahi
died instantly while one of
his friends escaped with
injuries.
“Oneof his friends was
hit on the leg by bullet. He
was later rushed to the
hospital for help while the
other escaped unhurt,'' he
said.
The Spokesman for the
Borno State Police
Command, Mr. Gideon
Jibrin, confirmed the
incident, saying that the
police had commenced
investigations into the
killing.

No less than 300 nurses
have been appointed to
cater for the needs of
expectant mothers and
their new born at the
Redemption Camp, Lagos-
Ibadan Expressway where
the annual convention of
the Redeemed Christian
Church of God is holding.
The Administrative Officer
of the Maternity Clinics,
Mrs. Morenikeji Sodiya,
revealed that the services
of the midwives were
engaged due to the large
number of pregnant
women admitted.
“Since the beginning of
the convention, pregnant
women have flooded our
maternity wards, but we
are prepared for them, so
we have taken nurses
from different Redeemed
Maternity wards all over
the nation to cater to
them. They had to come
down here since their
respective wards will be
closed till after the
convention. We have a
roster that over 300
midwives is arranged;
they all know their shifts,
which can either be in the
morning, afternoon or
night. No fewer than 35
babies have been delivered
since the commencement
of the convention,” she
maintained.
One of the lucky fathers
of the baby delivered at
the convention clinic, Mr.
Peter Iwajesu, was indeed
delighted to have a baby
girl born on such holy and
miraculous ground.
He said, “We actually
registered for the baby at
Redeemed Maternity in
Ibadan and when the
convention commenced we
were told we will be
accepted at the camp
clinic, now she had given
birth, I am so happy.”
He said adequate care had
been given to the mother
and child before and after
the delivery.
Among the women that
just had a baby delivered,
was a woman who claimed
to have been living in the
auditorium for over three
months awaiting a day of
miracle. And certainly her
faith yielded good fruits.

El Rufai is not a fit and
proper person to hold
office in a democratic
setting.

Former Federal Capital
Territory (FCT) Minister
Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has
been declared unfit to hold
public office. He is also to
forfeit a house he allegedly
allocated to himself during
the sale of Federal
Government houses in
Abuja.
In an interim report, the
Senate Joint Committees
on FCT and Housing which
probed the FCT
Administration(FCTA)
between 1999 and 2007,
said "el-Rufai is not a fit
and proper person to hold
office in a democratic
setting."
The committee’s
chairman, Senator
Abubakar Sodangi,
submitted the report
yesterday.
The report upbraided el-
Rufai over the sale of
Federal Government
houses in FCT, and
recommended that his
administration should
account for N32billion
balance of the proceeds.
Besides, el-Rufai is to
account for funds
collected by the Abuja
Geographic Information
System (AGIS), Satellite
Town Development Agency
and Abuja Investments and
Property Development
Company Limited.
The panel also
recommended that all
those who disobeyed court
orders then should be
prosecuted by the
Attorney-General of the
Federation (AGF).
A copy of the
recommendations obtained
by The Nation reads: "All
officers who disobeyed or
ordered the disobedience
of court orders should be
prosecuted by the
Attorney-General of the
Federation;"
"Also on the sale of
Federal Government
houses, the total receipt is
N96.7 billion and deductions
were N34.2 billion and the
balance was given as
N62.19 billion. The bank
statements showed only
N29 billion, leaving a balance
of only N32 billion
unaccounted for despite all
demands from him and his
officers."
"After assessing the
activities of Mallam el-Rufai
in his duties as FCT
Minister we came to the
inevitable conclusion that:
•he should account for all
funds collected by the ad-
hoc bodies he raised during
his tenure, namely AGIS, Ad
hoc Committee on sale of
government houses in FCT,
the Satellite Town
Development Agency, and
Abuja Investments and
Property Development
Company Limited, among
others;
•that the house he
obtained for himself where
he signed as lessor and
lessee be revoked as a
person cannot sell an item
to himself; and
•that Mallam el-Rufai is
not a fit and proper
person to hold public office

Crime Features gathered
that the man, a
vulcaniser, woke up on
Sunday July 22 in his
residence at Moniya area
and left for Idi Ose where
his 90-year-old mother
lived to greet her as was
his custom.
When he got to the
mother’s house, the old
woman was reported to
have noticed a rope in his
hand and when she made
enquiry on what he
wanted to use the rope
for, Mr Ayoola was said
to have replied that he
wanted to repair a faulty
electric wire at the back
of the house.
It was further gathered
that Ayoola’s mother
became apprehensive
when she did not see him
return in time, which made
her decide to check on
him herself. Followed by a
young boy living with the
woman, she searched and
did not find her son until
his dangling body was
discovered in the toilet by
the young boy.
The old woman was
reported to have raised
an alarm while neighbours
rushed in, only to behold
the dangling, lifeless body
of Ayoola. His apprentice
was said to have been
called and he, in turn,
called Ayoola’s son,
Kazeem.
Police sources told Crime
Features that the
deceased did not leave
any suicide note behind,
neither could anyone
pinpoint the reason behind
the suicide act. However,
some people have linked
the death of a 38-year-
old woman, Folake
Adenuga, to Ayoola’s
suicide.
Crime Features learnt
that the woman allegedly
committed abortion in an
undisclosed hospital in
Ibadan, and when she
developed complications,
she was rushed to a
private hospital at Oke-
Alepata in Ogbomoso on
Tuesday July 17. Two
men, one of whose name
was given as Baba Suwe,
were said to have taken
her to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the woman
died on Sunday July 22,
the very day Ayoola
committed suicide in
Ibadan around 11a.m. What
made people to link the
two stories was the fact
that Ayoola was popularly
known as Baba Suwe and
also, the deceased
woman’s children were
said to be aware of the
relationship between their
mother and the so-called
Baba Suwe.
The Police Public Relations
Officer in Oyo State, DSP
Olabisi Ilobanafor
confirmed the two stories
but said that the
Command was unaware
whether the two cases
had any link. She added
that the corpse of the
man was released to his
family who said they
needed to perform certain
rituals and also bury him
immediately.

gave his name as Obivuko
Alloysius Ifeanyi has told
bewildered operatives of
the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency,
NDLEA, that he accepted
trafficking in drugs by
inserting 210 grams of the
hard stuff in his anus so
as to outwit narcotic
agents with a view to
giving his late father-in-
law a befitting burial. But
his trick was truncated
moments on arrival at the
Murtala Mohammed
International Airport as
the scanning machine gave
him out.
He was promptly shoved
aside for profiling which
resulting in the secretion
of wraps of cocaine
weighing 210 grams. But
while pleading for leniency
the suspect said, " It is
unfortunate that I found
myself in this kind of
situation. It is the
greatest mistake of my
life and I have learnt my
lessons in a very hard
way.
I bear no grudges against
the NDLEA because they
are carrying out their
constitutional duties but I
plead with them to temper
justice with mercy, I got
into this mess for the sum
of four hundred thousand
naira only. See how I have
been messed up? All I was
doing was to get enough
money to give my late in-
law a befitting burial."
The agency's Ag head,
public affairs, Ndukwu
Chidi Henry who described
the concealment as
"unusual" said the airport
was witnessing low
arrest of traffickers
following the onslaught
against them particularly
with the installation of
additional scanning
machines donated to the
agency by the US
government to improve
the efficiency of the fight
against illicit trafficking in
hard drugs.
He said while others have
fled to other ports, Mr.
Obivuko decided to take
the risk and was
apprehended. According

concealment adding that
operatives at the airport
were ever ready to beat
drug traffickers in their
own game.
"During interrogation, the

Anambra State said he

here in Nigeria. Until his
arrest, the suspect was

bomber on Sunday
attacked a military
checkpoint in Nigeria's
northeastern city of
Damaturu, killing six
soldiers and two civilians,
police said. Suspicion will
fall on Islamist sect Boko
Haram, which is waging
an insurgency against
President Goodluck
Jonathan's government
across the north with
the aim of carving
out an Islamic state in a
country split evenly
between Christians and
Muslims.
"The lone suicide bomber
detonated the bomb
before the car he was in
could be stopped, killing
the six soldiers and one
civilian," Patrick
Egbmuniwe, the police
commissioner for Yobe
State, told Reuters by
telephone.
"Another civilian died of
his wounds in hospital
shortly after."
There was no immediate
claim of responsibility for
the attack in Damaturu's
Shagari housing estate.
Labeled a foreign
terrorist organization by
the United States, Boko
Haram has been behind
almost daily shootings and
bombings in the volatile
northeast.
Witness Abdullahi Sabo
said the whole
neighborhood shook when
the Damaturu bomb
exploded.
"The car blew up outside
the front of my shop, the
explosion was deadly," he
said. "After the dust
settled, many security
operatives were rushed
to the hospital."
In a separate incident,
police said suspected
sect members had shot
dead a former
commissioner for the
environment in neighboring
Borno state, the
epicenter of the Boko
Haram insurgency, in the
early hours of Saturday.

Al-Mustapha
The home of Al-
Mustapha’s in Kano,
Kano state was on
Saturday besieged by
hundreds of people carry
placards during the third
day Fidau Prayer for the
mother of Chief Security
Officer,CSO, to the late
head of State,General Sani
Abacha,Major Hamza Al-
Mustapha calling for his
release.
The sympathisers who
came in drove to the
family house of the
embattled former CSO
expressed bitterness and
anger over the absence
of Major Al-Mustapha who
is currently in jail for not
being released to bury his
mother.
Hajia Fati Al-Mustapha,
the mother of the
detained Military officer
died after a protracted
illness last week.
The condolence register
at the family house
further described the
mood of the people over
the travails of the Al
Mustapha as the
inscription such as”Free
Al-Mustapha,he has paid
enough sacrifices”,
“Don’t allow him to die
there”, “The refusal of
the government to allow
him to join other members
of his family to mourn the
death of his mother is an
attestation that somebody
want him dead”
“Jonathan free this

situation is pathetic and
saddening that the military
officer should continue to

mother’s death.

that almost turned rowdy
by pacifying the well-
wishers to seek solace
from the Almighty Allah
stressing that”We must
not forget that destiny
must play its rules in the
affairs of a man and that
is what Hamza is
currently facing now”
Hadi who was in tears
reminded the crowd that
the family had since filed
an appeal contesting
against the verdict of the
Lagos High Court adding
that he is confident that
his brother,family and all
the well wishers shall
over come the night mare.

Másturbation is the

age.
Since this evil act gives
intense
pleasure, they keep on
doing

knowing
the adverse effects of
the másturbation in the
future to
come. If this practice is

matrimonial
lives due to impotency.
Secondly, house servants
also
incite young boys to this
vice by
playing with their sexual
organs.
Thus, parents should keep

open eyes and they should

allow their children for
longer
hours to be with their

servants in seclusion.

boys
to distant schools along

supervision, may also lead
to

front of the servants or in

KANO (AFP) – A
Muslim religious leader
in Potiskum escaped a
suicide attack on
Friday, when the
bomber was thwarted
by local people before
blowing himself up,
residents said.
Several people were
wounded in the blast in
the town of Potiskum,
one witness said, as a
police official said he
was awaiting further
details of the attack.
“A man who looked in
his 40s … approached
the emir and tried to
embrace him, but
people around pushed
him away, and at that
moment, a bomb
concealed under his
caftan went off,”
one witness said.
Those wounded
included the emir’s
bodyguard, a mosque
aid worker and a
nurse, the witness
said. The attack was
said to have occurred
as worshippers left
the mosque following
Friday prayers.
There was no
immediate claim for the
attack, though
Potiskum has been
hard hit by violence
blamed on radical
Islamist group Boko
Haram.

if it is said that boko haram would originate from maiduguri its never a suprising news to me.cos borno state in the north has the highest no of almajiris.a child that does not see nor hear from his parent would take anything that comes his way ignorant.GEJ should summon all the islamic preachers in north to resolve the matter cos they are the only solution to the present wahallas!
