I think the so-called dentist has seen a mugu for christmass, that's why he's playing you.

Just take the case to the right authorities to handle.

I went back to school after I was bailed, which they said I shouldn’t have, the doctor brought a lawyer and his mother to the police station and they decided he’ll pay only 150,000. 40,000 monthly. I heard it this morning and I’m still crying like a baby. I called the police woman that arrested me she said that I should take that 150,000 and see it as a lesson that there’s nothing I can do again, the stress and trauma is already so much lesson to me, I can’t concentrate, find it hard to eat, sob at night.
If you click on my profile you’ll see my poultry thread, I sold birds in the market to raise this money- I tried my best to do it unashamed, I consider myself that I was doing it for myself- I stopped the business when I got enough money for this, and this is how I just blew up my years of sweat. I just wish a lot of people will learn from this thread,
Please always get a folder when you get to any hospital please, when I went to the dentistry department- I told a nurse I needed braces and she just referred me to a dental technician without telling me to get a folder.
Thanks everyone that has tried to help I just wish there’s more I can do to get back my money,when I read the chats I had with him and they way he pressurized me to send the money- it’ll just bring me to tears, wish I could go back to time. I’ll just keep trying my best to get over this thank you.

As I said he wrote an undertaken on the 31st December 2019 to pay the first installment of 150,000 on first or second week of January and the final installment of February.
He didn’t pay the first installment by 2nd week- he pleaded to pay on the 3rd week which I agreed. This is third week he called me today that he’ll breach the undertaken, he now claims the undertaken was taken under duress that my cousin with a tattoo and my uncle scared him at the hospital. He said the HOD of his department who is also the chairman of Nigerian Dental Association in the whole Abia state is his uncle that the highest he can get is a query.
He then pushed my cousin and an altercation started the hospital patrol took the three of us to their office we narrated the story and their head took us the HOD of the dental department, he said the man is not a dentist but he works in their technical department and the man brought the case to him on Tuesday and he cautioned him.
The man told me he saw my post on Nairaland and that I should delete it, that I’m tarnishing the image of the dental department- that he was angered by my post and shouldn’t be talking to me, his nephew kept insult me and my cousin in the HOD’s office (I have the recording) the man said he doesn’t have anything to do about it and that if the issue escalates as he already told the man- he would give the guy a query. The guy happily left and we were taken to a police station were he kept bragging and making phone calls. He was making jest of me that the hospital dumped my case and arrested me
I’m just tired and frustrated

I’ve been very unhappy and tensed since Friday
I’d be very brief, I’m an 18 years old guy, I have a Dental Overbite ( my upper teeth is very protruding) which have made me to be bullied my whole life and when people make references to my teeth it really gets to me and my mum could afford Dental braces because it’s very expensive ( I have 3 brothers and my dad died when we were young- Cancer) so I committed myself to saving to get one for a very long time. I eventually got 300,000 to spend on one and I started making enquiries and decided to do it at Federal medical center Umuahia, I made enquiries with the dentists there and they said my money was little and no one would accept that price and they also told me that they only made removeable braces.
As I was leaving one of them met me and got my number he told me they discussed and they’ve decided to help me, that they’ve decided to do it for me at that price (300,000), he took me to the main dental department and took my measurements, he told me to pay ASAP so they’ll get the materials for it and make it for me in days. That they didn’t have the materials as they didn’t make permanent ones, I paid 260,000 this last week to the doctors account (I have receipts) and told him I’ll pay the Balance when they’re done. He then told me it’ll be done at an affiliated clinic in Porthacourt on the 20th, I traveled From Umuahia to Porthacourt on 20th with the hope of coming back with my braces, getting there I waited for him to arrive at the clinic when he arrived that was when they started finishing the braces, I became suspicious because I didn’t see any of his colleagues and clinic didn’t look as it should (a clinic affiliated with a federal hospital) one of there tools got spoilt and they couldn’t continue he pleaded and urged me to sleep over at his place that they’ll get a new tool and fix it first thing in the morning. After much persuasion from him and his friend i slept at his place, the next morning he left very early as he told me he would and came back in the afternoon to take me to the clinic and fix the braces, getting there I noticed the braces was a KNOCK OFF I have so much knowledge about the braces because I had always eagerly research about it( he made a removable brace into a permanent one) I was so annoyed and he convinced me it’ll work, he tried fixing it and it wasn’t working and he started calling people phone asking for suggestion which made me understand that he had no idea of what he was doing. He told me to manage it which I refused because it kept coming out of my mouth after being cemented to my teeth.
I told him I wanted a refund he put me in cab to the atm to withdraw the 2k I had to go back to Umuahia because it was getting very late, he kept on trying to convince me in the cab that he’ll make a good one and I’ll get it 2nd week of January, we got down at the atm and I insisted i won’t proceed , he just left me there and walked away and got into a cab and left me stranded in a city I’ve never been too, I located the park but it was too late- I had to sleep in the park to leave in the morning. I was surprised at his reaction, I always tried my best to be patient and understanding to Him but it was obvious he had no idea of the job. He told me he’ll refund in INSTALLMENTS from January and he wont refund all the money I paid !
I spoke to my Mum(she lives in the US) and explained everything to her and she spoke to her lawyer (we’re waiting for feedback) but I want to handle this on my own, this mess I put myself into , I trusted this doctor because I knew his place of work his house in Umuahia and Porthacourt and I met him at his place of work, I’m really disappointed in myself this is the opportunity I’ve waited for all my life since primary sch to fix my teeth- now I just helpless and depressed up, I started a poultry at 15 to be able to raise money for this, it’s depressing to be ripped off of my sweat, raising 300,000 at my age in this economy isn’t easily.
Please I’ll appreciate any help or suggestions

I’ve written an email to the Nigerian Medical Association with recording of our convos (which he didn’t know I made), the whole story and my proof of payment and I’m just waiting for a reply.

Insist on a full refund.

To be honest the way he told me about this sounded like they had affiliations with the clinic
I know I’m at fault and I take full responsibility, I just want to know how I’ll get my money back
