Not sure whats happening to the Tennis team. I expected them to win more than they have done so far. This used to be one of our strengths in world sports.

wordychap: That guy is definitely above 17!
That guy is definitely 17. I can argue this to anywhere and he will do to the national team what Mikel failed to do. I just hope against hope that he gets a chance to prove himself with City or they sell him to another club who will give him a good chance at success. Arsenal maybe ( yes, I am a Gunner ).
Sports › Re: Iheanacho Is Exceptional – Pellegrini by arsetalks(m): 11:56am On Aug 01, 2014
I knew this is what will happen to the lad. He will not be given his chance with Manchester city. Only going to be used in meaningless matches and then sent on loan. He is 17, and so? What has age got to do with it for Christ sake?

Messi, Fabregas and a whose of others were given their chance to shine at just the age of 16-18 why not Kelechi? I blame the guy's parents and agent. They practically killed his career by forcing him to go to Manchester City instead of Arsenal or Porto that were interested in him. Manchester City's transfer policy will ensure they keep signing bigger names which means Kelechi will not have the chance to show himself.
Sports › Re: Blessing Okagbare Wins 200m Gold by arsetalks(m): 11:47am On Aug 01, 2014
This is a big proof of what this country can achieve if they Government becomes serious a bit. Blessing is doing so far simply because, aside the fact that she is talented, she gets massive support from her state government.

The Jamaicans, Americans ( well foreigners in American ) and our useless colonial masters are not in any way better than us only that they get more support from their government.

Kudos to Blessing, Kudos to Delta state government.

Mishydoo: I fail to get your point @OP....How does that change anything?or translate to disrespect huh
It changes nothing but then whats the bigotry about? However, I am not surprised. It is the Brits afterall, they are well known for their bigotry. If it was a Brit who won, it will be shown so many times and they will have time then.

This is from same people who see anyone from Scotland as Scottish when they are not winning but a Scottish all of a sudden becomes British and not Scottish when they are winning. Worst thing that has ever happened to Nigeria is us been colonised by the Brits. They in my opinion add nothing to us. Just look at the countries France colonised and see how much support they get.

I don't rate them.
Sports › Re: NFF Offered Keshi N7M Monthly. by arsetalks(m): 4:37pm On Jul 31, 2014
It is honour well deserved. He deserves that much per month. An oyinbo man would have gotten same or even more per month. However, I honestly think it is time NFF takes serious the issue of sending our coaches to refresher courses and we should have more and more coaches. Not sure we have up 2 200 UEFA/FIFA certified coaches in Nigeria.

Germany has 5000 plus and they have just a population of 80m if I am correct.
Sports › Re: FOOTBALL Arturo Vidal Completes Manchester United Medical? by arsetalks(m): 4:34pm On Jul 31, 2014
The report is all over the social media. If it happens, it will be akin to Ronaldo going to Real Madrid days after Sir Alex said "Do you think I would enter into a contract with that mob? Absolutely no chance. I would not sell them a virus. That is a ‘No’ by the way. There is no agreement whatsoever between the clubs,”
Sports › Re: Arsenal To Sign Marco Reus by arsetalks(m): 4:26pm On Jul 31, 2014
There is a chance that deal happens but maybe not this summer. I will not underestimate Wenger this summer. He has done well so far and very likely to surprise us Arsenal fans even more.

Djicemob: *Thinking aloud* Maybe the attack on GMB can be traced to these disagreeable issues and differences.
You must sha come up with one conspiracy theory to the other just so to show Buhari and or APC at large is behind boko haram instead of blaming GEJ for his incompetence in handling the boko haram matter even if Buhari and or APC are involved.

krall: They should test in on someone with HIV. After my thorough research, I know it will work. I have a HIV victim willing to be tested but the Ebola virus is presently too contagious so therefore unavailable to me. Ebola will fush out HIV and then flush out itself.
How someone like you is not banned from this forum I do not know. People are dying and you are there joking with it.

I wish you get either of those diseases then you come here ( if you are man enough to ) to tell us how funny it is. Stuupid tw*t.

This should make the front page. This is definitely good news for Africa and the world at large. The scienist are getting closer to finding a cure.

For those scared to click that link, I was also scared of been hacked through a supposed source link that looks weird, here is another link containing same article - http://healthmap.org/site/diseasedaily/article/did-scientists-just-discover-cure-ebola-62212

Sports › Re: Should FIFA Reduce Africa's Spots At The World Cup. by arsetalks(m): 12:20pm On Jul 28, 2014
I sincerely think our slot should be increased and not reduced. It is not as if Asia has done better than us? However, I think the confederations should work together to oust Hayatou from that site.

If AFCON can attract less than $5m for winning team and champions league is getting €2.1 million for just making it to the qualifying round then there is massive problem and it is due mainly to Hayatou and his men's incompetence.

I mean, clubs now want to come to Africa ( United has been doing it for ages, Arsenal tried it but ran away due to insecurity and the sudden opportunity from Asia ) simply because the market here is untapped and Hayatou and his men can not use this to their advantage? Disgusting.

High time that man left that seat hence his son will take over from him. He has spent 30 freaking years at CAF, time to go so someone else with better idea can come in.
Sports › Re: Should Kelech Iheanacho Take Over The No 10 Jersey From Mikel Now? by arsetalks(m): 12:13pm On Jul 28, 2014
Personally, I do not care about who wears which shirt but the lad has shown he is good enough and he should be given a chance and ahead of Mikel for that matter.

Mikel is good enough for us only in the eyes of most Chelsea fans ( not all) who are simply delusional. Same people who think Mikel is the best ever midfielder we have ever had even when we had the the likes of Okocha.

Kelechi will not play big man football, he has the talent as well.
Sports › Re: South Africa FA Appoints Mashaba, Disappoints Keshi by arsetalks(m): 12:10pm On Jul 28, 2014
Did people honestly believe Keshi was going to dump Nigeria for SA? I am sure it was just a stunt to get at his employers. I said it before, it was geared towards getting a better pay package and from all indication, he has succeed and rightly so.

We keep playing overrated white skinned coaches more money neglecting our own coaches who can be better than these foreigners if given the same explosure and treatment.

We tried hiring Bryan Robson before for instance, where is he now?
Sports › Re: Nigerian Bid For FIFA World Cup? by arsetalks(m): 12:07pm On Jul 28, 2014
daveP: We should rather set everything in such a way it favors us hosting women's world cup,or U-20.its so so possible.and FIFA would be surprised at the turnout the fans would give.it would exceed previous stats, cos africans would like to see the women.I hope Fifa is reasoning?
I second this. We should start with the smaller championships that we are yet to host. However, as the hosting rights of this tournaments are given at least 6 years before, we may stand little chance because of Boko Haram which our clu.eless president seems clu.eless to fix.

Politics › Re: Asari Dokubo Reacts To Buhari's Attack by arsetalks(m): 4:46pm On Jul 24, 2014
This guy is just an idiot. He should have been arrested long ago for his statements. This is the same guy who promised to make Nigeria hellish if he is arrested and he is not arrested. If it was another person, the GEJ fans would be shouting.

I hate myself coming on Nairaland this afternoon.
Sports › Re: Iheanacho In Man City's Starting Line-up by arsetalks(m): 10:19am On Jul 24, 2014
This lad is good but his agent and parents need to have their heads checked. How on earth they let money push them into selling him to Manchester City I do not know. At Manchester City, no matter how good he is, he will not be allowed to play regular first team football because they will keep buying supposed stars who will keep getting ahead of him regardlessof how much talent he has.

Same thing is happening to Omeru at Chelsea, Lukaku at Chelsea and Isco at Madrid.

Some will argue his family need the money, they could have sold him for a cheaper price to Porto or Arsenal but by playing regularly, he would have become better and end up making more money on the long run. So disgusting.

donphilopus: He's trying to be, but he needs to put more effort..

There are so many keepers that are better than him..

Anyways, I love his Faith
Not close to the truth. Vincent is a victim of our dear country's misfortune. People always say he is short but he is an inch taller than Casillas. He has proved his mettle. Why he has not got a big club to come after him I do not know. Better than many club's keepers - De Gea is not better, Lloris is not better, Valdes is not close, Vorm is not better. Yet Vincent is playing for a second rate club - Lille. Very unfortunate.
Sports › Re: Nigeria's 2015 AFCON Qualifying Campaign by arsetalks(m): 8:32am On Jul 21, 2014
SA must be the most unfortunate country in the world. They keep getting beaten by us and still "mother-ill-luck" gives putting them on our way. Surely going to be another nations cup without SA it seems. Even Sudan is likely to come ahead of them in that group.
Sports › Re: Kelechi Iheanacho Makes Manchester City US Tour Team List by arsetalks(m):
thegoodjoehunt: Kelechi Iheanacho is one of our most promising talents. This is not about Man City but we are interested in Iheanacho because he is one of the top rated players in his set (U18). Now Man City is being coached by Coach Manuel Pellegrini who is good at bringing out the best in players.

If Iheanacho is as good as we hope he is, working with Coach Pellegrini will help him progress fast. So Iheanacho being picked by Coach Pellegrini means Coach Pellegrini feels he has something to offer. Coach Pellegrini is not doing this for fun. He is trying to look for players to help Man City succeed.
The lad is very good but to me, I don't see him making it at man city. Their transfer policies means they will continue to bring in bigger players which will end up messing up Iheancho's career.

Pellergin may now be in charge but so far, his transfer deals shows he is willing to throw money at a problem at the slightest provocation.

I honestly think Iheancho's father and agent ( if any) has done the boy's career a lot of damage. It is no coincidence that not a single player has come out of City's academy in the last 6 years or even more.

Should have gone to Arsenal ( yes, I am a gunner) or Porto or even Tottenub ( I won't call their name here) .
