infolekan: Look at this man throwing figures around....5% of their workforce.
MSF means Medicine Sans Frontiers or Doctors without Borders in plain English. Have several friends there who have been posted to Ethiopia and all.....it's an international organization that PAYS well(compared to Nigeria standard at least).
No one has asked who the so called Nano tested their drugs on.....why it hasn't been sold to Liberia and Guinea and the other countries that are worst hit.
Why the sudden shout of Nano silver? Is the average Nigeria so unintelligent or so myopic in their views to know that drugs aren't just released without an appropriate and earlier test?
Which EVD patient did THEY test it on before now that they now expect us to use our own family members and friends as Guinea pigs?
Why aren't they using it for HIV that is even more common?
How many such groundbreaking drugs have they developed and why dint the get approval from the necessary authorities as all LEGIT PHARM companies do.
It's like forever products claiming they can use their food supplements to cure HIV?
Even drugs used for Cancer still kills the human cells(that's the cause of the hairloss and all) but this wonder drugs is now being thrown at us to test the efficacy.
Not at Liberia.
Not at Guinea
Not at the Medical Personel on ground seeing the patient
But AT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to purchase in large quantity for our Guinea Pigs
I know MSF in Germany and UK for sure are sending people down to Africa because 3 of my relatives have been sent to Liberia. This is fact. Ask anyone in these nations if you think it is a lie and on Nano silver, we are on the same page on this but with a little differing view.

We all know if EVD patients are not treated, they stand a very good chance of death and if Nano Silver doesn't work, they simply go back to status quo - death.

What I expect America to have done is to call forward the woman who is making the claims and have her ascertain the claims instead of outright rejecting it without facts for or against it.

And as for Zmapp. I guess the 1 ( one, un) Spaniard pastor who was infected and treated with the medication is more than the 12 people infected in Nigeria as well?

ogaju007: Why havent africans developed something that cures an ailment in Africa? Hmmn let me guess (They are always waiting either for a miracle and/or someone to do it for them. and even when one of their own comes up with a cure, they reject it with stupidity. ogaju007: Why do we expect them to risk their own lives when even we (Africans) have not done that. Even your pastors now cant lay hands on people for miracle grin grin grin
Are you serious? Did anyone say they should test it on their own people? We have ebola patients who the med can be tried on. If they are not treated, they will die and if ( a big IF) works, they will have another chance at life so what's there to lose?

Being the greatest "disliker" ( if that word exists) of GEJ's administration ( you GEJ fans can read oo, I said his administration, not his person, I don't know his person and can't dislike what I don't know) I must say kudos to him and the health ministry and all those who contributed to give these people another go at life ( well, those who GOD used really) .

This is further proof of what we as a Nation can achieve when there is WILLPOWER.

GOD bless Nigeria.

Onegai: All of you shouting US FDA hates this drug because it was released by a black man (another lie), you need to go and find out how many things you currently use that were invented by black men. Maybe you'll see the truth and stop deceiving yourselves and being happy in your ignorance.

Don't you know University of Ibadan's Dr. Aniru Conteh (a sierra leonian) was one of those who was the world expert on Lassa fever (another hemorraghic fever like ebola). The world accepted his results and findings and his treatment and he was even given awards, yet now, alll of a sudden, they hate black men for discovering "Nano silver".

If History was taught in schools and people read books, maybe we would all be educated.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aniru_Conteh
What you have stated are facts THANK YOU but it is also facts that America has not shown enough willingness to help combat this challenge known as EBOLA. First they refused to give us their zmapp medication but could sent it to Spain. Then when there was a big outcry, they sent it to Liberia and now it is no longer available.

Who in the first place approved zmapp? No one. It was administered without approval just as nano silver would have if our corrupt bastardos did not accede to America's demands.

Question is, why is America against this potential curse even without any proof to show it ineffectiveness after all there was no proof that zmapp will work before it was tried!!! Thing is, if the Ebola patients are not treated, they have just less than 20% chance of survival and if Nano Silver doesn't work they will only be back to status quo. Nothing to lose here.

Why has Germany, the UK, Russia and Canada send 5% of their work force to Africa to help remedy the situation but America the supposed leader of the world refuse to follow suit?

They may be innocent but they ( America) don't help matters with their actions and inaction so far.

The data on blackberry is not all that too. I use Q10 and having to pay 3k for 1.5 gb which only lasts for 1 week. My last subscription was etisalatfor 1500 500mb and despite the fact that I used wifi from 8am till 11pm, and the date on blackberry from 6am till 8am, it only last for 1 week. NCC needs to do something and urgently. This telecom companies are ripping Nigerians off.

Data is not that expensive in other countries. Obviously not in Ghana and definitely not in Benin republich both of which are smaller countries in every aspect when compared to Nigeria.

I was thinking United will give Arsenal, City and Chelsea a good run next season but it seems they will be out of the top 4 longer than we all thought. Many players have rejected them and seem to be something that will continue.

To think many do not give Wenger the praise he deserves for taking Arsenal into the champions league year in year old while having to pay back 20m every year for the 400m loan taken to build the emirates stadium.

Truly, we got a very good squad for next season and have a very good chance. However, it remains to be seen if injuries will or will not derail our season as usual. For me, the good thing is the fact that we have a squad that if kept will becom very formidable and with a few additions here and there, we will become world beaters especially now that we can compete with others financially.
Politics › Re: Lesotho Pull Out Of AYC Qualifier Against Nigeria Over Ebola outbreak by arsetalks(m): 7:37pm On Aug 15, 2014
Most sensible thing is for CAF to reschedule the game and compel Nigeria to play on a neutral ground. It is not our fault that we have the deadly disease in this country ( well partially our fault when you consider how much time we had to take action ) but neither is it Lesotho's fault as well. We will beat them but let's do it fair.

chrisbaba1: Do we have to wait for the USA to approve of what what research we have made to improve the life of our people. The last time i checked, Nigerians have enough mental resources to carry out our own researches..... Send the option to our scientists and let them approve or disapprove. its time we cut this chains the western world keeps putting us in and decide our own fate we are grown enough to stand!!! also reveal the scientist who sent this drug, or was the Nigerian Authority scammedhuh This jonathan administration will be responsible by force else we cant survive gloriously much longer as a nation!
The problem is not America to be honest, the problem is the man who is managing the affairs of this nation who cannot do anything for himse.

He seems just a decoration. I am sure America is trying to ensure that we reverse the laws banning homosexuals and I will not be surprised if this administration end up allowing that d*ckhead call Obama have his way.

So other countries who are sending their people are dumb right? Yet you think I am the one not you thats crazy.

I know for sure that countries are sending their people, my friend who is technician nurse with NHS is been sent, my 2 cousins in Germany are also been sent. Id.iot get your facts right before you call people "crazy".

candy: My point is:The international community don't fancy us. However, we are still at their mercy and we either come up with our own cure fast or we go begging on our knees.

This is a desperate situation that calls for desperate measures on all angles. Our leaders can't afford to tow the ego line at this crucial time. Some valuable lives are at stake here.

BTW, what's up with the money naija recently contributed towards this ebola stuff days back? What really is it meant for? To find a cure- which naija won't benefit from? Or to get medical aids for those countries? - aids that we need desperately ourselves!

#still I pray for God's intervention#
It is obvious the intention is ensure we enforce the gay law the tw*t call Obama wants. I will be disappointed but not surprised if GEJ ends up aceding to his ( Obama's ) demands.

All the other western world countries like England, Germany are sending 5% of their doctors and nurses and donations to Africa, America refused to send any help yet they won't allow us find help on our own. Obviously they rather see us die than live.

No wonder there are so many conspiracy theory against American. GOD's own nation my foot.
