kikuyu1:Dude, the R haplogroup originated in west Asia and travelled to western Europe, more specifically around the Caucasus region. That's why the oldest human found carrying R marker is found in northern Italy. As for the OP, it speculates the idea that the Hyksos invaders of Egypt who ruled for less than 150 years made their way to China. Whilst this is plausible as the Hyksos were West Asian to begin with, they weren't of original Egyptian stock. As of now, there is no concrete evidence that points towards the Chinese coming from Egypt. A few metal pots are not enough to draw such conclusions. |
obaaderemi:That was at the height of the civil war and truthfully Gen Aideed was one of the finest Somali generals of recent times. It was sad to see him succumb to clannism and anarchy in the end. By the grace of God, things are looking much better now with the new government in place and a lot of the country has been cleared off terrorist fighters. I'm optimistic for the future because when you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. No one thought Rwanda, Angola or Mozambique would recover from the wars, but today those countries are some of the most promising countries on the continent, especially the former two. |
fanficgirl:He was a legendary Ethiopian emperor from the 19th century and I think Hati13 is in a better position to answer this question. Take it away walal Hati ![]() |
ednited:It's alright ehti, no need to apologise. Believe it or not we have some twisted individuals who laugh at victims of terrorist attacks in Mogadishu here in this very site. There are good and bad people in every ethnicity. No matter how bad it gets, always remember that the majority of their people are good and upright people. |
ednited:I think I remember. Many people assume the worst of us because of that troll and I'm not surprised one bit. He has been trolling NL for 7 years. |
ednited:I agree. We have to become producers and stop being consumers only. |
Hati13:I'm a big admirer of Yohannes IV. He was a fearless emperor who stopped foreign invaders from entering his dominion many times and died fighting like a proper man. |
Creating industries that produce quality goods and becoming an international exporter is vital for a flourishing economy. Alas, African countries for the most part are just banana republics, who are being exploited by multinational cooperations for their raw materials. If we are to yield influence on the world stage, then we need to diversify our economies and specialise in key areas. We are particularly lucky in the sense that the world is moving towards environmental friendly technologies. This means that if implemented and developed proper, we won't damage our continent, unlike the US, India and China. However, this requires us to invest in the African people so they can acquire the know-how that will deliver us from where we are today to where we want to be. It requires transparency, accountability and fairness in our ways of governing. It will not be possible without this. |
Hati13:It's very idealistic, but it would be a sight to behold. I truly hope we can achieve this though. One is allowed to dream ![]() Wenedem is walal in Somali. You can use it for both males and females. |
obaaderemi:I'm lucky enough to lay claim on three countries. I was born and raised in Germany, but I'm the son of a Djiboutian Somali and a Somali national. Hope that answers your question. |
arinzeejikonye:That's a step in the right direction for Morocco. They've isolated themselves from the rest of Africa for many years. Very welcomed news. |
arinzeejikonye:Very true indeed. If there's one thing that my life in Germany has taught me, is how much we can achieve through unity and cooperation with our neighbours. I hold globalist views and one day, I wish to see a united East Africa, heck even a united Africa - so we can finally put up a challenge to the rest of the world. If the Europeans went from killing each other in their tens of millions and then uniting to form the EU, why can't we do something similar or even better since we haven't slaughtered each other like they did. |
arinzeejikonye:It is estimated that there are 6-10 million Ethiopian-Somalis who get along just fine with their fellow Ethiopians. The rivalry between Somalia and Ethiopia stems from the old Somali regime who wanted to annex the Somali region of Ethiopia by means of military force. This backfired and eventually caused the downfall of that regime. Fast forward 40 years, after many regime changes, we are living in different times. Both the Somalis in Somalia and Ethiopians wish nothing but peace and prosperity in the horn of Africa. Nobody is interested in fighting their brothers and sisters for a piece of land that is more than enough for all of us and more. |
Hati13:Scholars estimate the birth of the Somali ethnicity at around 3000 years ago, which is also the time when most Cushitic ethnicities were born. The homeland of the ancient Somali population is said to be the northern coast of Somalia, Djibouti and north east Ethiopia I wouldn't say that Somalis are descendants of the Egyptians, but they were closely related and shared a common language, culture and customs with them. This is also the reason why the Pharaohs of the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt said that the Land of Punt (Horn of Africa) was their ancestral homeland and where the ancient Egyptians came from. If I was to point to a specific Cushitic group, I'd say the Beja people. |
Ersan:Contrary to popular belief, Somalia is actually not a mono-ethnic country. Apart from ethnic Somalis, there are Yemenis, ancient Arab populations, Bajuni/Bravanese, Oromo and Bantu-speaking people in Somalia. The largest minority is the Bantu group (known as Somali Bantu), estimated between 800,000-900,000, they're mainly found in the south-central regions. The Yemenis are found in small pockets in a lot of northern cities and the capital, whilst the ancient Arab people are found in the capital only. The Bajuni/Bravanese are in the deep south and lastly the Oromo are technically found in every major city, though the largest chunk of them reside in the south western region of the country. Just wanted to correct that in an otherwise good exchange between you and 9jakool. Peace. |
Ancient Egypt has been ruled by non-blacks only 3 times - they consisted of two short periods (compared to ancient Egypt's long history) where the Hyksos and the Persians invaded. Finally, the last time Egypt was invaded by foreigners was when the Greeks and Romans established the Ptolemaic and Roman period, thus causing the downfall of this great empire. After that, it became completely different in terms of religion, culture, language and inhabitants. The Chinese had their own empires and kingdoms. They had been warring for nearly 5000 years until the establishment of the Republic of China, which eventually caused more bloodshed and the deaths of 80 million Chinese people. |
Hati13:You are right. Chinese DNA is nothing like the ancient Egyptian haplogroup (E3b) which is carried by many Afro-asiatic speaking people such as the Cushitic and Berber ethnicities. |
Hati13:You are a rare one then my bro. Ethiopians, regardless of religion are a very religious people. Amen and I wish the very best future for Ethiopia. As the ancestral homeland of our people, I truly hope it stands out as an example for others to follow. ![]() |
Amazing pictures wenedem Egizi'abiheri itiyopiya yibariki ![]() |
fanficgirl:War is a profitable business for many multinational orgs and countries. They're creating instability so they can fill their coffers and they don't care about humanity or the Ummah in their case. It's funny how Islamic terrorists mainly target resource rich nations like Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen, Mali, Libya, Iraq and etc. That should be a clear indicator of the hidden aforethought malice held by these organisations. |
fanficgirl:They're an extreme off-shoot of the Islamic Courts Union (ICU) who briefly ruled the South Central regions in 2006-2007. They became disgruntled over how their leader Sharif Ahmed, signed a deal with the west + other allies to end the wars and support the transitional government. Sharif Ahmed became president and they went rogue, declaring the entire Somali population hostile Kuffars. This is the argument they use to justify the people they kill. Wikileaks proved that they've got many international backers, mostly in the Gulf states. This is not really surprising considering how many terrorist organisations those countries support worldwide. |
fanficgirl:Somaliland consists of Ishak(70%), Darod(20%) and Dir(10%). I think it's unfair to say they're holding Somalia back. Al Shabaab and widespread corruption is holding Somalia back. Somalis should tackle that first before blaming others. fanficgirl:I think you should read about them, but not learn them. There is no benefit in learning them in the real world. People who learn old scripts are usually researchers, language enthusiasts and sentimental people lol. |
Henryyy:Fair enough. I've had many battles with that troll myself. He's annoying and likes to give us a bad name. And I agree African women are the cream if the crop. We are blessed to have them. |
fanficgirl:I blame the lack of research. Europe and Asia have been dug out and laid bare to the rest of the world. Whilst many places in Africa have been hampered by poverty, political instability and safety issues. Expect many historical findings in Africa as the continent moves forward. As long as you can read it then it is very easy to translate to English. |
fanficgirl:It's so complicated. The four biggest clans dominate the rest. Darod, Ishak, Hawiya and Rahawein. If it weren't for the first 3, the country would have probably sorted out its troubles a long time ago. Believe me, I'm Darod lol.
|
Henryyy:If anything you're the one who feels intimidated. You came in here unprovoked, posting pictures out of the blue. It's a public forum, but you're meant to stay on topic. You can obviously hold the opinion that the tribes you mentioned have better looking women, but it's your opinion and mine will naturally be different. That's why it's pointless to argue about these things. You won't change your opinion on beauty if I post some pictures here and nor will I change my beauty preference so relax my guy. |
Hati13:I had a great time in Ethiopia and I'd love to return the favour one day ![]() All of the pictures I've posted are in Mogadishu. I'll start a photo gallery thread on the rest of the country soon. There isn't a big difference in looks between ethnic Somalis, however in the south there is more diversity because there are Arab, Persian, Swahili and Bantu minorities there. Therefore it is more likely to run into non-somali looking Somalis in the south. We have got a tiny Yemeni minority in the north as well, but many of them have been Somalized hence why they don't stand out as much. |
Henryyy:In a thread dedicated for Somali women, why are you posting Fulanis? No one is saying Fulani women are unattractive but if someone says Somali, Ethiopian or Eritrean women are the most beautiful, then surely they're allowed to hold their own opinion. After all beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. As a Somali guy, I'm very biased and the most beautiful women in my eyes are from the horn of Africa. |
fanficgirl:Yeah the first script is called Borama and it is still kept alive although it's not in use. The second script one is called Osmanya. Some people are trying to revive it by teaching it in some schools. This initiative will fail because it's seen as an exclusive script that belongs to one clan (my clan lol). There are 2 or 3 others, but the oldest Somali script is either Sumado (number 3) or a somewhat unknown script that looked similar to the Sabaen script.
|
Hati13:Bad publicity reaches further, also tragic news have become synonymous with Somalia so people don't bother looking it up and I don't blame them tbh. You're welcome wenedem. I'm going back to northern Somalia soon, please do come visit when we manage to fully secure the country. |

Life isnt that complicated fam.
