Amen Amen Amen. By God's grace.. We'll all make it..
jnyuwa02:
Ok no wahala, bless you, I am on the Plateau of Nigeria and enjoying Nigeria tremendously after 20 years of sojouurney abroad since my my hay days. But for the corruption and nepotism and barbarism, this is the greatest country. You never understand what a great country Nigeria is till you live abroad and come back here, you would be highly respected. Even all the girls suddenly want you, lol. I urge everyone going to study abroad to come back and help develop our great nation. I will be in Canny Sept 2018. Hope we all make it IJN.

Loool. That's me brO.. I dey respect everybody.. Are u presently in Canny.
jnyuwa02:
Please oh, I am not too much ooh! You can find many schools to accept you with that GPA. You even studied under the k-12 American grading system which they respect better than Nigerian system. Good luck!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 2:37pm On Apr 01, 2018
Sir jnyuwa02. You too much sir... I'm not even bothered about scholarship. Mine is just to get into the University with my GpA..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 12:14pm On Apr 01, 2018
Thanks boss. I really appreciate you. I suggest less competitive school such as uRegina ,Dalhoise and MSVU..
jnyuwa02:
Yes your gpa is good enough at most school for admission. Some schools only average out your gpa for the last two years and anything above a 70 percent is good. Look at the Unversity of Saskatchewan and University of Regina. If you are looking for scholarship though, in most schools, to be competitive in the pool, you have to have a grade point average above of 3.7/4.0. Best wishes!

Ps: you might want to use the Wes Canada GPA calculator for a more accurate comparison of your grades with the Canadian system.

Good morning All.. I've been extremely confused lately concerning my GPA. My school runs on Canada GPA scale. However when I compared the grade point of my school to Canada scale.. The GPA point of my school seems more higher compared to all unis in Canada.. My school GPA goes thus.

90-100. 4.0. A. 65-69. 2.33. C+
85-89. 3.67. A- 60-64. 2.0. C
80-84. 3.3. B+ 55-59. 1.67. C-
75-79. 3.0. B. 50-55. 1.0. D
70-74. 2.67. B- 0.49. 0.00. F

My final GPA is 2.62/4.0

My 300 level was 2.77. My 400 Level was 2.60.

I graduated mass comm student from Houdegbe North American university, Benin. My question now is Do u guys think my 2.62 GPA will fly for masters preferably course based.. Help a brother pls..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 8:33am On Mar 31, 2018
Good morning Great people. I Want to say something.. Some PGD applicants are truly the course of their denial. I was going through previous threads and I saw a law graduate from the uNiversity who was deniad based on purpose of visit. He graduated Law and secured admissions for human resource managanent in Conestoga.

Law and HRM aren't related !!

From the V.O's perspective. He looks desperate and apparently not serious with studies. I guess..

These people are even making it more difficult for TRV to fall on genuine PGD applicants..

My lil advice : Anyone going for PGd MUST try as much as possible to make his/her intending program to be ALMOST SYNONYMOUS to previous study..

Bosses is the house I hail... Na with respect i make my submission

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 2:26pm On Mar 25, 2018
Yoo Bro. Let's rob minds. I also studied mass comm UG. What school did u graduated form ,What school are you looking upto in canny and what course are u going for ?
hustla:
Just the usual scans

intl passport, transcript, results, etc. The stuffs are on the website once you sign up

You need to ask from the school, they may waive it for you so you won't have to go through stress.. Because they didn't waive it for you me doesn't mean they won't do it for you

About the Ielts, you don't have to take all those lessons and stuff, serious long thing. Just join nairalands whatsapp group for Ielts, download materials online and study for like 2 weeks.

For me, I started studying a night before the exam and still had a 7.5, but i made sure I familiarized myself with how they set the questions and numerous tips and tricks, ieltliz is about the best. (I studied Mass comm at UG level so it might be a bit easy for me)

Cheers.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 10:36pm On Mar 23, 2018
Try and apply ur self bro. Application processes for Colleges are always straight forward unlike Universities .
Make attempt to apply first and whatsoever you don't understand. Ask the house..

Guys........ Will 2.62/4.0 fly for masters ?? My school runs on U.S GPA scale which has been giving me serious headache lately. 90-100 is A. Any advice guys.. Please..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 10:35am On Mar 21, 2018
I went through previous threads and parts, i was busy checking list of trv hopefuls. strictly checking only PGD applicants that got admitted into Universities NOT colleges. I noticed that most of them got their trv for PGD in universities.

Anyone against my observation ??

Thank you very much man..
WEIRDPC:
Different schools have different policy.

Some request for the official transcript from the onset while others request for the official transcript after you have gained admission.

you need to understand what is written on the school page.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 12:40pm On Mar 17, 2018
Hi guys

I am just applying, I'm on the web page of the school, this is what I need clarification about.
Whether during applying, my transcript should be sent directly to the school I'm applying to by my school or it's after they've evaluated the one sent by me via online. then they request for official transcript which will be sent by the school .
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 11:08am On Mar 17, 2018
I hope my transcript will be secured.i was thinking u said in as much as my transcript contains all the official signatures I stated above, I'll just send them my transcript via email or their preferred online route
Frankrobbn1:
Asapant,
This is good. Endeavor to request for your university official envelope, make sure you enclose your transcript inside and sealed it. Then send it via courier.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 7:22am On Mar 17, 2018
OK. Thank you.. It's an official transcript that contains my dean and Vice chancellor's stamp and also the exam coordinatelor stamp is on it as well..
Frankrobbn1:
Asapant,
If the one in your possession is dully signed and stamped by the university, you only need to collect a university envelope and send it directly to the school, using your university name as the sender via courier.

OR,

Order for your official transcripts from your university, make sure it's enclosed in a sealed university envelope, dully signed and stamped by the exams and records, send it directly yourself using your university name as the sender.

Which ever one!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 10:09pm On Mar 16, 2018
Hello guys.

I greet you all. The college I apply to state that they do receive transcript directly from university..meanwhile while registering I see have you requested your transcript from your last learning institution. I clicked Yes.. And truly my school has given us our transcript since last year.. Do I need to go back to my school and ask them to send my transcript to the college am applying to ??.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 5:42pm On Mar 16, 2018
Good day all. Made some researches lately.

For people going for PGD. And you think your bank balance is not fat enough. I'll advice you to look away from Toronto and secure admission to colleges in the Atlantic part of Canada such as

Holland college. PEI
Nova Scotia community college
College of the north Atlantic. NewF and Labrador
Newbrunswick community college

Average tuition is 8-9k per year compared to colleges in Toronto that ranges from 14-15k per year..

Bosses in the house. If I'm wrong. Correct me pls.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 9:33am On Mar 15, 2018
[how come getting PGD admission with 2nd class lower is hard.. Are you saying most people that got their admission for PGD are mostly 2nd class upper graduate ??
quote author=jnyuwa02 post=65852327]

True, even getting into a 2 year diploma is hard with second class lower. With the diploma course gotten, try and craft a winning SOP. Concentrate on showing why Diploma in your personal circumstance offers better opportunity than masters. This is doable if you are going for an area that requires niche specialization and vocational training.[/quote]

I don't understand these WES of a thing.. Can they upgrade gpa of 2.6/4.0 to Canada GPA standard.. My school A starts from 90. A minus is 85-89..

Explain to me guys. Please
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 11:21pm On Mar 14, 2018
He has 2nd class lower. How possible to get admitted to university ??
jnyuwa02:
Yes do the hardwork and change both schools and course. Reapply for a masters in the biochemical field or last employment. It would pay off. Many denied at first take the advice and do the needful hardwork and get into a masters and are glad for it. Most colleges offer diploma courses and have no masters programs. Look into universities.
