All am trying to ask yall is, since this gurl was not a demanding type when she was back here in Lagos, a committed and convincingly loving gurl. Is it that she has now found another guy and has made me a new MUGU_CLIENT@KEEPONPAYING.BIZ? Or is it just the normal ego placed on her head that might make her feel "oh well just because he has bought me an ipod and other stuffs does not mean I should be the one to keep seeking his attention, instead he should be the one, My pple I just dnt know what to think anymore, cos am still in love with this shawty.

You are right, there was oil Nigeria even then but we did not know its true value not untill the Udoji awards of 1974. Armed with this new knowledge we have today and the realisation of the kind income a state can earn, I will doubt if any of the northern states and to a great extent a lot of even southern states will want us to go back to what we had in the 60's. Obviously rivers state and delta state will want each state to raise it revenue and contribute to the centre.
The north can be extremely rich in a lot things like notably agriculture,tin bauxite,generate revenue from the various game reserves they have(like kenya and south africa),cotton but the kind of thinking you exhibit here will not allow this inward thought.

One of the greatest problem we have as a country is that we DO NOT tackle root causes of problems.There is no way and i repeat no way we can eradicate these scammers UNLESS we can eradicate glofying riches of people without trying to find out how they got the money

Everyday we are bombarded with news on how politicians loot with impunity and no punishment is handed out to them.Some even flaunt this 'wealth' on our faces and we do not do anything.What do you think a young school graduate without a job to do?

We do not give ourselves the benefit of the doubt.I keep telling people that if we had constant electricty nationwide right from time a lot of these scammers might have been involved in one productive venture or the other.

I have lived there.If you think you can just wish away ethnic sentiments just like that you must be joking.Maybe you can explain to me why they take out their frustrations on some people instead of their leaders that are keeping them that way.

Mr knowall tell me that nigeria did not witness the greatest development in its independent history when we where still existing as regions when every zone controlled and generated its own revenue and paid taxes to the center.

Why are the states in the current dispensation allocated money from the federal goverment. This thread is not about internal generated revenue.

@IFELEKE

If there is to be a revolution or change in attitude in this country people have to focus on how to cleanse the group they come from and hope other groups do the same.I do not subscribe to u or me 'interfering' into the affairs of another group because it will bring nothing but distrust and resentment.

Politics › Re: Lets Legalise Corruption ! by asha80(m): 3:53pm On Mar 15, 2009
Thats why I advocate the creation of more states, if we have as many 75 states it will weaken the central, the central must be weakened in a proper federal structure. The federal goverment should hand over all these items to the states.

1. Schools - FG should not be running schools including Uni
2. Industries
3. Airports
4. Roads there should be no federal roads, state roads e.t.c there should only state roads and LG road.
5. prisons
6. police we dont need IG of police for the whole nation, what we need is IG police for each state.
7.Courts

The only thing the FG must concern herself with immigration control, customs, armed forces, foerign affairs.

There will be a healthy rivary amongst the different states which will eventually lead to overall development of the whole nation like what happened in Europe in the 19th century . Little states Luxemborg and lichenstein created a niche markets for themselves by only concentrating on off shore financial dealings.
Quite ironic!
Politics › Re: Lets Legalise Corruption ! by asha80(m): 3:08pm On Mar 15, 2009
It really does not matter how many states we have as the same money each constitute part gets is still the same. If for example oyo state is divided into 3 states, assuming they get 4 billion from the federal goverment, the re-alloaction to each constitute part will still be the same 4 billion only that certain areas based on population will get more than others. Whatever western states was getting in 1975 is what ogun, oyo, oshun, ekiti and ondo all combine together are getting today.
And why should they be allocated money by the federal govt when they must have been constituted?Why can't the generate funds themselves?
Politics › Re: Lets Legalise Corruption ! by asha80(m): 2:37pm On Mar 15, 2009
Be ready to create up to 200 states for the different ethnic groups that make up the country.

Its people like you that has been brain washed by oyinbo people, we should go back to the way we use to do things before the advent of colonialism. Or how else can u explain why not a single African country is doing well with this western model, its just not working. My thesis was on Traditional African democracy. You see countries like Egypt they are using a style of goverment that is unique to that part of the world and as a result have the 2nd strongest economy in africa.
Guy if you want us to go back to the way we where before colonialism then nigeria has to divide.

@davidylan

The problem with nigeria is that most nigerians see the geographical nigeria as an enterprise to make money from and NOT a country to build and serve because their is no feeling of nationhood amongst the people that make up the country.

The different people that make up the country have yet to come together to really fashion how we are all going to live and exist in the geographical nigeria.
