So true. I think this goes on to show how despicable Adenuga is, dissing his own for the sake of money. Nobody that works for that man likes him. He is just a beast roaming through Nigerian labor market, devouring innocent Nigerian labor force because they don't have any other option. He is the shylock of our modern time. He simply went to where the money is.Tribe should not play a part in business. |

Problem is from parents and not the individual. If someone that is born and brought up in gabon can speak igbo well then it is no rocket science that it is the parental influence. Sometimes parents give the excuse that speaking the language to the kids as they are growing up will affect their understanding of english. To this i say bollocks.A child form age of 0 to 7 can learn how to speak up to 4 different languages without confusing one for the other. |

But when this heartless worldview comes back to bite them in the butt, they start speaking in tongues!
Nigerians can be very heartless creeps!
I will never forget the day I was on our staff boss going to work and we saw two burnt bodies on the road in the busy Boundry/Ajegunle road, at around 6:45 AM. I was appalled and was soliloquizing on why these young men were brutally killed, mutilated and burnt? That what could have prompted the OPC men to kill these young men with such brutality? The look and response I got from fellow commuters that morning solidified my belief that, unless there is a miracle, Nigeria is doomed. Not all, but most people on the bus were speaking as if they were there when the men stole some yams and were chased and caught. My argument that such jungle justice was extrajudicial and are prone to error, to execute a personal vendetta, misunderstanding, wrong identity, etc. fell on deaf ears. Many of these fellow Nigerians were 100% convinced that those two dismembered young men were guilty of stealing some yams and hence deserved to be brutally murdered.
This is the Nigeria people live in today. Very bold to confront yam thieves but unbelievable timid, to the point of subservience, when it is time to confront those who have stolen billions of dollars! Shame on Nigerians for allowing this form of oppression on the poor!!! Exactly! |

The problem with most nigerians is that there psyche has been so bastardized over the years especially under military dictatorship that they hardly know what the goverment should do for them. |

Stealing is stealing, pure and simple. Besides, in most cases the person whose shoe is stolen feels the pain far more than whatever IBB et al have done to him. What's more painful to a struggling, orphaned student - Obasanjo's theft or his lecturer that forces him to buy handouts of N5000 before he can pass? Rubbish talk. |

The government is already providing low cost stores, a N400,000 store is not bad . It is also providing financing by covering half the cost with taxpayers money while the bank covers the other half. But in Nigeria that is not enough, they want it for Free.
People's lives are also affected because of the illegal structure. Make i hear word! |
Politics › Re: A Question For The Moderator: RichyBlacK by asha80(m): 9:27pm On Mar 23, 2009 |
There is nothing wrong with the topic, it is part of reality of life. Fingers are not the same, people are different, people think and see things differently. And not everyone will like the identify of your ethnic. Part of civilization is agreeing and disagreeing, this is what keeps earth rotating.
The topic should be reactivated and allow Ibo people to present their case, let them educate the poster of the topic.
1 Nigeria 1 Nairaland. Yes not everyone will like the id of your ethnic but did not allow that group to break away when it wanted to. |
Politics › Re: How I Became A Stateless Nigerian by asha80(op): 8:28pm On Mar 23, 2009 |
@Tpia What is the differensc btw this because internal immigration is rampant in Nigeria. Most people in such situations, even if they wanted to run for political office, as long as they're not fully integrated into the society they want to be a part of, is it right to blame the host communities.
And in most of such instances, the area of origin wont support any candidate who they feel will not place the interests of the ancestral region above the interests of the state/locality where the person is settled. So its a no win situation with prospective candidates caught in the middle.
The only times when non-indigenes have been governors of states they're not related to, have mainly been under military regimes. So, unfortunately, it seems the military is the only institution trying to look at these things from a different angle. And what i said earlier which is this Many people in nigeria in this kind of situation would have their political career(if they are interested) almost quashed even before it takes off. |

Chinua Achebe was not wrong in citing the 'igbo problem' in that his book "The trouble with nigeria".Nigeria as a country is a failed state and some people are only interested why a particular ethnic group out a possible 250 cannot rule nigeria.Nigerians and their foolishness. |
