In a recent NANS press release signed by her National Vice President, External Affairs said
"The attention of the Office of the Vice President, External Affairs of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, was drawn to the video clips and media briefing of Pastor Wole Oladuyan, Senior Pastor of Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministries (CLAM) on the incessant prolonged Academic Staff Union of Universities (A.S.U.U) strike which has left millions of Nigerian students at home idly for over 8months by a well meaning Nigerian youth, Amb Adebuji Oluwatosin Sunday who's also a member of the christian ministry, CLAM.

Foremost, on behalf of all the Nigerian students in the country and diaspora, do I, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, Vice President - External Affairs, NANS appreciates your one of a kind display of humanity by identifying with the pains and agonies of the Nigerian students especially at a time like this where the Nigerian students has been abandoned to our fate.

The entire Nigerian students also carefully noted the total use of Pastor Wole Oladuyan's platform, Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministries (CLAM) as a medium to offer progressive and practical solutions to curb this disgraceful menace that has been brought on the majority of the Nigerian youths - the Nigerian students. The entire Nigerian students praise Pastor Wole for risking the image and integrity of his well reached, well respected pastoral platform to address all parties in the FG - ASUU rift and also the thoughtfulness to spearhead the project.

During the course of the media briefing of Pastor Wole Oladuyan, we cannot over praise the boldness and truthfulness manner of which the problems were called and solutions were detailed. The entire Nigerian students also identifies with Pastor Wole Oladuyan on emphasizing that only the Federal and State Governments cannot eradicate the rot in the Education sector of the country. There's a need for a synergy between meaningful individuals, corporate bodies, religious bodies, financial organizations, political office holders, non governmental organizations and the general public to put hands and heads in unison in a bid to reposition the reshape the nation's educational sector and we appreciate Pastor Wole Oladuyan for the wake up call in his message during the media briefing.

In the course of Pastor Oladuyan's media briefing, he suggested a BACK2SCHOOL Initiative which is dutiful for procurement, administration, disbursment and supervision of the Trust Fund .A TrustFund been suggested to be created for the purpose of paying ASUU and further tackling the current rots in the educational sector. Pastor Wole Oladuyan further offers a hand of fellowship and invites well meaningful individuals, churches, mosques, financial institutions, oil and gas sector, manufacturing sector and all members of the private sector to come on board and project the idea to fruition.

The entire Nigerian students are grateful to Pastor Wole Oladuyan and Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministries (CLAM) Global for not only identifying and lamenting but also professing practical solutions to help our nation in the course of nation building. I beseech other religious leaders and men of the society with high rise platforms to vocally and intentionally help the student's community in a bid to return back to our classrooms.

We also call on corporate bodies to pay what's required of their organizations to the educational sector in obedience to the law of the land to ensure proper funding of the sector. I, Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, popularly called BABTEE appeal to meaningful individuals, corporate bodies, religious bodies, financial institutions, oil and gas institutions, manufacturing institutions, all members of the private sector, political office holders, non governmental organizations and Nigerians in diaspora to come on board and put all hands, heads and hearts together in a bid to reposition the educational sector of the country.

Whilst we urge all parties to stop the blame game, we frankly advise all parties not to any manner politicize the educational sector and the struggles of the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities as the Human Capital Development of any nation must not be toyed with or used as a tool for political games.

Remember, a nation who builds her youths, builds her future."

Truly, we urge all meaningful Nigerians to get on this project.

The National forum of all Joint Campus Council Chairmen met on 27th of August 2022 at around 11am, while in preparation for the median NANS National Convention and in the meeting the issues written below were addressed, as well as taking into cognizance the roles played by the Joint Campus Councils as the last tire and grassroots of our dear Association NANS yet neglected.

1.The Council in her meeting constituted a three men Committee to immediately articulate and represent the interest of the Chairmen's forum and by extension that of Nigerian Students in the 36 States of the federation. In line with the above, Comr. Jokiel GIDEON CHINONSO JCC Chairman Rivers State emerged as the chairman, Amb. Ahmad M. Bashir JCC Chairman Jigawa State the Secretary while Comr. OKEH JOHN KINGSLEY JCC Chairman Ebonyi state emerged as the Public relations Officer.

2. Immediately, the Council further delibrated on the issue of the Continous lingering Industrial Action of ASSU strike which is as a failure of the Federal Government from living up to the demands of the ASSU and the council has registered her displeasure in the way and manner the FG and ASSU are taking the negotiation for granted but the forum is optimistic that the newly constituted leadership of the forum with the new NANS executives that will be birthed by the convention will take over the negotiation in order to call off the strike so that our dear students will go back to thier campusses and continue with their academic activities.

3. The forum pertinenetly highlighted the level of neglect melted on the Leadership of the Joint Campus Council by the National Executive arm of our dear Organization NANS, the senate, the Convention planning committee, and the Zonal Leadership as the forums seizes the opportunity to remind them that the Joint Campus Council by the Powers of the Constitution should enjoy a level of mutual relationship. And as the grassroots of the Association enjoy some level of engagement, partnership and regard in cases of decision making and it's implementation.

4. we are making it clearly to all NANS National Executive,Senate Arm, Zonal Executive and all relevant stakeholders that the Joint Campus Council Forum have resolved that no any senators is going out for election until JCC dignity and recognition is revived in tandem with the constitution.

Politics / Nans Vp Hopeful Hails Floos, Mrs Betty Akeredolu Over Senetorial Ambition by ashleyman(m): 4:53pm On Apr 19, 2022
Tuesday, April 19, 2022

NANS NATIONAL V.P HOPEFUL,COMRADE AKINTEYE BABATUNDE AFEEZ HAILS MRS. BETTY ANYAWU AKEREDOLU' COURAGE TO CONTEST IMO EAST SENATORIAL SEAT.

Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez (BABTEE), the leading aspirant for the seat of NANS Vice President National Affairs, received with enthusiasm the news of the declaration of interest of Mrs. Betty Anyawu Akeredolu for the Imo East Senatorial seat.

Without being deceptive,Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, Ada Owere of Imo State over the years has been a great and leading role model to the entire female gender,a forerunner of female rights protection and a defender of the rights of the youths who has always raised up her voice so that those without a voice can be heard.

Veraciously,as a comrade and true altruist who served in the sunshine state during the period of Mrs Betty as the first lady of the state and a true advocate of gender equality and woman right advocate that she is till date, I can state and affirm unequivocally that her declaration of interest for the seat of Imo East Senatorial district is a general win for all and sundry.
Mrs Betty has decided to take the bull by the horns making it an exemplary one.Her declaration is a reflection and affirmation of her believe in a fair and just society where the female gender is not regarded as a weaker vessel or inferior gender and of course Mrs Betty Anyawu has been an advocate championing over woman marginalization in the governance of our country.

Apolitically,it is imperative to acquaint the general public especially the people of Imo East Senatorial district with some of her(Mrs Betty) achievements, impacts and contributions to the society;an impulse behind the need/necessity to laud Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu openly on her official declaration of interest to represent Imo East Senatorial district.
Without gainsay,Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu, the founder of BEMORE FOUNDATION(a summer bootcamp basically for the training of female and youths) has been at the forefront in seeking justice for the female gender, protecting their rights cum empowerment.

Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu believes youths and children are loaded with talents and has since provided a platform where talents and potentials can be unlocked, training girls and youths in ICT,solar technology and other life-building skills.
As part of her humanitarian service,Mrs Betty Anyawu has facilitated the distribution of equipments to hospital and schools, not leaving behind the victims of cancer through her BEMORE and FOWOSO foundation.
Also the role she played in getting justice for school of Health Technology rape victim will not be forgotten.

At this juncture,it is pertinent to commend Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu for leaving her comfort zone as the first lady of Ondo State to serve her indigenous people directly,no doubt, this will as well encourage women and popular participation in politics.
Indeed, Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu has brought hope not only to the female gender but to the youths of the nation and the generation unborn that a BETTER NIGERIA is achievable.

Exploring this latitude of space,Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez (BABTEE) congratulates Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu and entire indigenes of Imo East Senatorial district in advance.

Education / Nigerian Students Demand Transition Of Nans National Executives by ashleyman(m): 10:42am On Mar 29, 2022
NIGERIAN STUDENTS DEMAND TRANSITION OF NANS NATIONAL EXECUTIVES

I have heard and read series of statements in regards to NANS transitions mantra. Let this administration quintessentially lead by implementing the constitution they amended. Using ASUU Strike as a justification for tenure elongation is irrelevant and barbaric hence the following questions:

i. What if ASUU Strike Proceed for over 6 months, will they transit?
ii. What If ASUU back out and ASUP or COESU resume strike immediately, will Asefon Transit?

Aluta will always continue irrespective of change in leadership. They should be endeavor enough to release CPC list and fast track transition process. I doubt if their successor will uphold and successful implement the modus operandi enshrined in the new revived charter of demand since Asefon led Administration had failed to lead by Example.

Failure to transit as soon as possible, Nigerian students won't hesitate to chant #Asefonmustgo and eject him out of office shamefully

It is pertinent to note that, in recent times, no president had performed awesomely like Bamidele but unfortunately was flawed due to tenure elongation.

It's advisable to leave the podium when the ovation is loudest.

Aluta no dey finish, soldier go, soldier come, barrack no dey move.

OPEN LETTER TO UNIMED VC

The VICE CHANCELLOR ,UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE,ONDO STATE, PROFESSOR ADESEGUN FATUSI; A TYRANT, UNPROFESSIONAL, A CURSE AND HARM TO STUDENT COMMUNITY.

“For there is but one essential justice which cements society, and one law which establishes this justice. This law is right reason, which is the true rule of all commandments and prohibitions. Whoever neglects this law, whether written or unwritten, is necessarily unjust and wicked”

It is with absolute resentment we write from the apex student body in the sunshine state.
Our hearts are heavy and our souls cry out aloud for the satanic and inhumane increment in tuition first and the aftermath of the purported unjust and unfair act.

Sequel to the news of increment in tuition fees of UNIMED,as a student body whose utmost/topmost priority is to defend and protect the interests of her members(Nigeria students),it became a necessity for us being well cultured and mannered leaders to look into this as a matter of urgency knowing too well the increment would negatively affect the welfare of Nigerian students in UNIMED.

At this juncture,it is pertinent to note that we aren’t cowards to have sued for peace because we strongly believe in due process before having to resolve to “si vis pacem, para bellum”(if you want peace prepare for war).
The apex student body in the sunshine state is an embodiment of intellectuals whose firm beliefs lies in the 3Cs of aluta(Consultation, consolidation and confrontation).

The apex student body in the sunshine state under the leadership of Comrade Omotoso Surprise will at no point be silent on the student welfare and will at all time fight and stand for justice because injustices anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.

It is disheartening and sardonic to have heard of the satanic increment in tuition fees because we know how distractions this would be to the student community hence the need to make UNIMED our secretariat until the needful is done.

It should be noted that a letter was written and submitted to the school management in order to have a way forward to peacefully, amicably and intellectually iron things out without no menace and shutting down of this campus(UNIMED) but we are saddened and baffled by the display of unprofessionalism and incompetence of the Vice Chancellor Professor Adesegun Fatusi.

At first we were disappointed because no sane management would boycott dialogue that would have curbed for instance;closure of the school among others.
Professor Adesegun failed to honor the meeting with the leadership of NANS and this to us is an act of not just negligence of duty but show of shame, incompetence, lack of integrity, misplaced priority and failure.

Professor Adesegun proved to the world today(11-11-2021) not just the leadership of NANS or Nigeria students how shallow his reasoning can be the moment he sent the officers of Amotekun to disperse the leadership of NANS.
This to us is hilarious but then it shows the Vice Chancellor can not in anyway defend the increment.
The VC that asked that campus be locked down on arrival of NANS leadership to have a peaceful meeting with him could call Amotekun corps to disperse student leaders who came solely for consultations.

The VC Professor Adesegun has shown his level of cluelessness and incapability to steer the affairs of UNIMED because even before now we do not expect any institution to solely depend on students to generate internal revenues(IGR).

At this juncture,it is imperative to emphatically and unequivocally enjoin the Vice Chancellor to do the needful in the next 72 hours otherwise we will be left with no choice than to resolve to the last “C” of Aluta which is confrontation.

Education / Akungba Student's Union Gives FG And Ondo Govt 24hrs Ultimatum by ashleyman(m): 8:41pm On Jan 24, 2021
From: The Secretariat, ADEKUNLE AJASIN UNIVERSITY AKUNGBA AKOKO STUDENTS' UNION, STUDENTS' UNION BUILDING.

PRESS RELEASE

With great distress, we show our sincere condolences to the deceased and the entire student populace.
However, the best of this is to ensure our great icons do not just pass away without ensuring lasting solution to the reoccurrence of such within the student community.

-The Students’ Union has met with all necessary stakeholders and a barricade foundation has been erected today to put a total stop to heavy duty trucks plying our road.
-The union has also issued a 24-hours ultimatum to the Ondo state Government to find a permanent solution to the issue of accidents in Akungba community.
-The union is working vigorously to ensure that the lives of everyone is safe as we can never afford to lose a “pin” to any accident whatsoever anymore.

However, we therefore demand the cessation of the students from the ongoing peaceful protest as some unidentified hoodlums have almost hijacked our agitations from us, which would develop into a great disarray.

Students should await proper and further directives on the ongoing agitations as all hands are on decks.
The proper forces have been mobilized to seriously curb anyone caught in the act of violence in the name of agitations.
It's strongly advisable that students leave the Streets so as to victoriously achieve our aims.

To cap it all, we make bold to reiterate that the Student’s Union wouldn't tolerate any attempt to infringe the Welfare of the vast Nigerian students from any quarter. We shall always do everything in our capacity to effect smile on your face and to uphold the Students' Union constitution.

#SECUREONDO: NANS JCC ONDO STATE STANDS WITH GOV. AKEREDOLU, NO GOING BACK

In recent years, it's no news of how the security and dignity of our lands has been hijacked and jeopardized by the "Fulani Herdsmen" group.

Our dear Sunshine State which is a symbol and example of PEACE and LOVE has been turned into a hotspot for COLD MURDER, DESTROYED FARMLANDS, HIGHWAY KIDNAPPING by the Fulani Herdsmen which has caused irreplaceable loss of LIVES and PROPERTIES.

Recall on 12th of ,July 2019, the daughter of 94-years-old Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the national leader of Pan Yoruba Socio- Political group, Afenifere, Mrs Funke Olakunrin was yesterday shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Benin/Ore expressway. This loss would forever be fresh in our memories.

A few days ago the Deputy Registrar of FUTA a federal university in Akure was shot by suspected herdsmen along the Ilesha expressway, he died the following day. A loss the entire state is still finding it hard to believe it's reality.

A first-class Yoruba King ( The late Olufon of Ifon in Ondo State) was killed by suspected herdsmen on Yoruba soil in November 2020.

It's deteriorating enough that the PRESIDENCY did not seem it fit to SYMPATHIZE with our LOSS as no words has been heard from then till now.

The Chief Security Officer of our State, His Excellency, Rotimi Akeredolu S.A.N in his compliance to the oath of allegiance to secure the lives of it's people and her properties signed an EXECUTION ORDER to ward away THE FULANI HERDSMEN and the many troubles and havoc they have wrecked.

The order whose primary motive was to strengthen the security structure of the state, it also was a beginning of covering up our wounds and healing up from the psychological, emotional, financial trauma that comes with the loss of properties and lives of our people.

With a great shock did we receive the news from the PRESIDENCY quarters disagreeing with the ORDER.

We are BOLDLY and FULLY standing with the ORDERS of our EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR to #SECUREONDO for our FUTURE and the FUTURE of our YOUNGER GENERATIONS!

We commend Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu for putting our PEOPLE over POLITICS. May the good Lord guide you through.

DEMAND FOR THE REOPENING OF ALL TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN ONDO STATE

Sequel to the directive of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA that there won't be any fresh lockdown, we ask the ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT and the TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS MANAGEMENT to OPEN our SCHOOLS FOR RESUMPTION.

Our students who have been at home since the COVID-19 outbreak last year had to suffer longer due to the ASUU strike. This has affected a lot of students psychologically, financially and has also wasted valuable days of our lifes.

We also urge the ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT AND TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS MANAGEMENT to put in place ALL COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY GUIDELINES and AN ISOLATION SPACE in all OUR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS as the SECURITY OF THE LIVES OF OUR STUDENTS is PARAMOUNT.

The Honorable Minister of Information, NIGERIA - Mr. Lai Mohammed announced that there wont be any fresh lockdown stating that from January 18, everywhere should be opened, in the same fate do we REQUEST our SCHOOLS be opened on the same said date JANUARY 18, 2021

The BABTEE-led administration would go round the schools on a tour to ascertain the guidelines for COVID-19 are in place and followed diligently.

We appeal to all students to always wear their facemasks on Campus and in hostels to avoid the further spread of the virus as we await resumption.

*MAKE STUDENTS' FRIENDLY DECISIONS NOW, NANS TELL RUGIPO MANAGEMENT*

We humbly write from the Apex of the students' body in the Nation as regards the lingering challenges facing students in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.

A man of wisdom wrote," The man dies in him who keep mute in the face of tyranny".
As a union that is dedicated to the welfarism of her students, we will never keep mute even as the smooth running of academic pursuit of students is been geopardize through unfriendly decisions.

We are much aware of the increment in payable fee for collection of certificate, setting quick deadline for payment of the exorbitant tuition fee and many more, and we cannot afford to keep mute at this time.

We are much aware that the delay in the student union election is because of unfriendly decisions like this, as we've heard numerous cries of students from different angles, and we stand against any form of oppression.

If the government is underfunding the institution, the students shouldn't be at the receiving end, rather, the management should take their grievance to the government and not victimize students.

A student friendly management should see beyond making obsessed decision at this era of hardship in the Nation coupled with covid'19 challenges, and device a means of making the environment Serene and accommodating for students and not make decisions that will make students drop out of their educational pursuit.

Therefore, we demand for the reversal of the increment or face NANS mass action against the management of the institution as we will never tolerate any form of oppression against the students from anybody whosoever.

Our notion is born out of good stewardship to our students and it is important that the management of the said institution see themselves as parent and reverse their initial decision.

We so much believe our open letter would be considered as we strongly believe in the first C of Aluta which is consultation, and we won't hesitate confrontation if adamant to our request.

Dare to struggle!
Dare to win.

NANS ENDORSES AKEREDOLU/AIYEDATIWA FOR REELECTION

The National Association of Nigerian Students wishes to direct her members to participate actively in the Ondo gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday, 10th October, 2020.

In exercising their civic right, it should be noted that the students bear in mind the need to sustain ongoing developments of the Arakunrin Akeredolu administration which spanned through various sectors in the last four years he has been on the saddle.
The achievement of the government is visible in the various revolutionary infrastructural developmental projects initiated by the Akeredolu government, spread across the 3 senatorial districts.
Without doubt, the Akeredolu administration, prioritized the industrialization of Ondo state leading to the employment of teeming youths.

The harmonious relationship between the government and people made possible by the people centred approach of Arakunrin Akeredolu never witnessed in Ondo state must be consolidated by patriotic citizens of Ondo state in furtherance of the transformation of the state from a civil servant state to an entrepreneurial driven economic prosperous state.

Reelecting Arakunrin Akeredolu for a second term will guarantee the continued attraction of investors and partnership needed for all round development.

To this end, we hereby direct the entire students in Ondo state to massively vote for the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa ticket on Saturday, 10th October, 2020.

*FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILE-OLUJI EMBEZZLEMENT SCHEME: A LIE AND HOAX*

The attention of the Secretariat of the *National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC, ONDO STATE* has been drawn to the news in media circulated by media outlets and bloggers about an *EMBEZZLEMENT SCHEME* in the Prof. Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin - led administration of *FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ILE-OLUJI, ONDO STATE*

Immediately, an investigation committee headed by the *Chairman, NANS JCC ONDO STATE, Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez p.k.a BABTEE* was created consisting of 9 distinguished Nigerian Students with unquestionable character with a sole aim to make deep, unbiased, truthful and sincere investigation of the allegation as its an injustice to the entire student's populace under the institution jurisdiction.

The committee swung into action immediately, left the state capital, Akure for Ile-Oluji to visit and ascertain the situation on ground. The delegates were received by the Rector, *Prof. Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin* who immediately denied such allegations and said since the institution has kicked off 3 years ago, it has literally been a "construction site" as buildings and laboratories were being built as the administration focused on infrastructure for qualitative education, a feat which was visible.

The delegates chaired by *Comr Babtee* toured round the campus inspecting various projects being executed by the administration amongst which were *Faculty of science buildings, fully fitted ICT lab, 2 in 1 500 capacity hall, administrative building* others were almost completed as at time of the visit.

*Comr. Babatunde Afeez pka BABTEE* appeals to the media to discredit the news as its all *FALSE ALLEGATION*. On behalf of the Nigerian Students, *Comr. Babatunde Afeez pka BABTEE*, *NANS JCC ONDO STATE CHAIRMAN* appreciates the effort of *Prof. Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin management of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji* as its the most advanced and improved amongst its peers that were created together.

*Mr Chairman also appeals to the Presidency, Federal Ministry of Education, and the general public* to help the growing campus with donations in cash and services.

*Comr BABTEE* also reiterate his commitment to the defense of the right of the Nigerian students and also the security of their properties and educational value.

Whilst we await resumption, the Secretariat of NANS JCC ONDO STATE implores all Nigerian Students to obey the COVID-19 regulations at all time and to also stay aww from electoral vices and electoral violence.

Lagos IGR was not Tinubu's making. Lagos had been commercially blessed from time immemorial.

This is a myth that has been on for long. Lagos IGR was purely Tinubu's making, he put every asset to use sir. Osun state has assets yet can't put it to use. Let's put the cap on who it fits best sir

Does all those things written absolve Tinubu of being a common drug peddler?

I think the one to be ashamed here is you, supporting and singing the praises or a common drug peddler, imagine how the comity of Nations will be looking at Nigeria.

Obviously you all are the ones shameless.

Buying up sixty percent of Lagos lands and establishing intimidating successful businesses is that your definition of failure?

For me what I see as failure is one hungry miscreant singing the praises of a Chicago drug Baron and common criminal just to get crumbs from him. That's the absolute definition of failure.

If you're as intellectual as you write, you should know that these allegations are baseless and birthed out of hate. Even then President Jonathan used 2years to investigate BAT with EFCC, and he was vindicated.

It's time you stopped blaming people who you have even crossed paths for the reasons for your slow progress or standard of living. Just try to better yourself. And BAT was already a Director at an Oil company before going into Politics

Politics / The Untold Underrated Truth About Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by ashleyman(m): 7:17am On Aug 25, 2020
First underrated fact about Tinubu is that *"HE'S ALSO HUMAN"*, everyone seems to be expecting him to outperform God.

BAT was a strong pillar and foremen that formed National Democracy Coalition (NADECO) that led to the return of democracy rule in 1999.

BAT put the country first as he played a major role in the stability of the democracy of Nigeria. He was one of the major reasons Chief Olu Falae didn't challenge the result of the 1999 election against Obasanjo. We all wanted to return to democracy, did you think we actually elected a former head of state?

BAT in his nature created platforms he has benefited from only once and that was his re-election as Governor of Lagos 2003 with Action Congress of Nigeria (A.C.N). BAT led to the formation of Alliance for Democracy (A.D), A.C.N and All Progressive Congress(A.P.C)

BAT was a senator under Social Democratic Party (S.D.P)before aligning with A.D under which he became Governor of Lagos State

BAT was the only one who saw and predicted the fall of a Yoruba Predominant Political Party, our original Afenifere, Alliance for Democracy (A.D) in 2003. Leading to the 2003 election, then Pres. Obasanjo lobbied A.D to join PDP to create a consensus presidential candidate (himself, OBJ), at that time South Western States were governed by grassroot indigenous men we knew as fathers, BAT singlehandedly kicked against it which led to the formation of Action Congress(A.C) which later on metamorphosed into Action Congress of Nigeria (A.C.N). All the Governors in Southwest except BAT lost their seats. The governors include
Segun Osoba of Ogun State
Ade Adefarati of Ondo State
Bisi Akande of Osun State
Lam Adesina of Oyo State
Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State
After the Obasanjo betrayal and overhaul of the 2003 elections as Segun Osoba named it after the elections we had
Daniel Justus Olagbenga of Ogun State
Dr. Segun Agagu of Ondo State
Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State
Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State a
Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State
and that led to the end of a once glorious formidable south west. Ever since only Lagos has been flying.

In a bid of revenge from the then President, Olusegun Obasanjo, against court order refused to give Lagos a penny from Federal Allocation, in that time, BAT raised Lagos IGR from a little over #600m to #20billion he handed over to his successor, BRFashola.

This single achievement was lauded by a host of African Nations and that led King
Halliru Dantoro of Niger State to confer BAT with *"JAGABAN OF BORGU"* which means "Leaders of Warriors". Lagos State unanimously gave him the ruling power also when he was conferred with *"Asiwaju of Lagos"* which means *Custodian of everything Lagos* so if you think BAT would lose Lagos in 2023, its better you make another wish.

BAT has made more successive men and leaders (how they turned out is their personal cross) than 90% of the political parties in Nigeria. (Just Google out list of Lagos State appointees between 1999-2003, then Google each one of them personally, you'll be surprised what they achieved through BAT).

Thanks for reading!

:*NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) JCC ONDO STATE*

25-07-2020

*OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN*

*AKETI STUDENTS SUPPORT GROUP (ASSG) : AN IMMORAL, UNDISCIPLINED, BARBARIC GROUP OF QUESTIONABLE INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER*

With a bitter, painful, hurt and alutarized heart do I convey greetings to you from the ambience of true unionism.

This call comes as an urgent issue we have to nip in the bud arose yesterday as a student support group named *AKETI STUDENTS SUPPORT GROUP (ASSG)* led by the immediate President of NAOSS, Akeredolu Emmanuel desecrated the lands and territory of the Nigerian Students.

On Friday, 24th of July 2020, the undisciplined group *ASSG* in their usual manner of going round the tertiary institutions to create fake scenes of students showing the "4+4" hand gestures in support of the Ondo State Governor, *H.E Akeredolu Odunayo Rotimi SAN* in his re-election bid went to *Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo* and *Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa* where the were not welcomed the same way they were counter-rejected by the undergraduates of the *Ondo State College of Health Technology, Akure*.

Instead of this set of barbaric people in the *ASSG* to take the response back to their principal, Gov. Akeredolu who has not been in good terms with the students populace due to the *hike in tuition fees of the tertiary institutions in the state* and re-strategize on how to solve the issue and serve the people of Ondo State better

They started beating the students on the campus environment who didn't grant them the use of their institution for political lies inflicting injuries and loss of properties.

*The duo, Akeredolu Emmanuel, a former NAOSS President and Olabisi Gideon, the current Director of Special Duties, NAOSS* of the *Aketi Students Support Group (ASSG)* led and brought thugs to beat the undergraduates on ground in which the *Student Union President of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa*, *Comrade Okunomo Damilola* happened to be part of.

As of report filing, *Comrade Okunomo Damilola*, the *Student Union President of OAUSTECH S.U* who was still recuperating from the injuries inflicted on him was also agitating for the *loss of properties of undergraduates under his jurisdiction* as they were misplaced, lost and destroyed during the *show of shame of the ASSG*.

Worthy of note is the *DESECRATION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS, ONDO STATE AXIS* at OAUSTECH. This is seen as an INSULT and ABUSE to the NANS JCC ONDO STATE AXIS Chairman, *Comrade Akinteye Babatunde pka BABTEE* who is currently in rage for the ill-mannered act.

*NANS JCC ONDO STATE AXIS led by BABTEE* calls the *Commissioner of Police, Ondo State* for the immediate arrest of *Akeredolu Emmanuel and Olabisi Gideon* for *physical battery on our undergraduates and destruction of properties belonging to them*.

*Comrade Akinteye Babatunde pka BABTEE* also *orders all Political Groups to keep their policies away from tertiary institutions campus in the state*

*Comrade BABTEE* also demands for an unreserved apology letter from the *Aketi Students Support Group (ASSG)* to NANS JCC ONDO STATE AXIS and OAUSTECH S.U alongside with total replacement of the properties lost as follows;
•Infinix Hot5
•Samsung GT19152
•Power Bank
•iPhone 6S plus

*Comrade BABTEE also tells the Governor to reduce the tuition fees across the state if he wants to win the heart of the students*

*Comrade BABTEE* also promises to pursue this issue until *JUSTICE IS ACHIEVED* and all our demands are met. *Comrade BABTEE* also urges the students populace to stay calm for a pending time in await for our demands to be met and if not, *Comrade BABTEE* assures the Nigerian Students under his jurisdiction that he's not afraid to confront the group of questionable integrity for their abominable act.

*Comr BABTEE* also reiterates his commitment of protecting the welfare and the rights of the Nigerian Students in his jurisdiction.

An ultimatum of 48 hours for the apology letters would be given.

A CALL FOR REDUCTION OF SCHOOL FEE – INSTRUMENTAL TO STUDENTS' SUPPORT IN THE COMING ELECTION:
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT;

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” - Nelson Mandela

We acknowledge the efforts of the Ondo State government led by the able Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in revitalizing the education sector of the state, especially in the aspect of physical structures. Some of the beneficiaries of these modern developments are the students of OAUSTECH where the State Government erected an edifice of international standard in Olusegun Agagu University of Technology (OAUSTECH),Okitipupa. We cannot but commend your efforts and commitment towards great developments like this and it simply implies that the aforementioned University is going head-to-head with other modern-day institutions.

Mr. Governor, we must also commend your effort in the development of Ondo state, especially the new face you are giving to the roads in the state. Similarly, we appreciate your timely intervention in salvaging the crisis in the University of Medical Science (UNIMED) by appointing a substantive Registrar for the institution.

However, the 'Noble Laureate' Professor Wole Soyinka said; "You cannot live a normal existence if you haven't taken care of a problem that affects your life and affects the lives of others, values that you hold which in fact define your very existence."
The challenges that come with increment in school fee have really affected the educational pursuit of the children of the working class and common men of the state. To this extent we start to wonder if our leaders are not the product of free education of PAPA AWO!

We read in books and heard from men how the Free Education Scheme implemented by Chief Obafemi Awolowo helped so many people achieve their career goals. In fact, we can confirm that the influence of this scheme served as a driving force and instrumental to your illustrious career in the law firm, even to the Apex capacity of senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). No wonder the State is enjoying your industrious and visionary governance.

Yes, situations have changed and events have unfolded – thus making it difficult to offer free education again in the nation. However, we hold that the government can make education affordable and available for everyone.

We hereby call on the Ondo State government to facilitate a reduction in the school fees, especially at this political period. In fact, this could be a great push for the youths and students of the state to provide their unaltered support for your continuity in office. Of course, you will also agree that this is the best time to implement such change.

If you can recall, Mr. Governor, we have been on the street twice agitating for reduction. We have cried blood on the street of Akure, walked bare-footed in front of our campuses and addressed so many press conferences all to no avail. Indeed, life has been unbearable for the Nigerian Students' ever since the increment has been implemented. We find it hard to focus and very sad seeing our friends drop out in large numbers due to the astronomical fees.

Lastly, Mr. Governor, we are sure that you understand beyond what we can possibly comprehend. Again, we want to reiterate that the executive and members of the National Association of Nigerian Students' Ondo Joint Campus Committee are not Thugs or Touts. We are also disposed to constructive discussions and dialogues for the overall progress of the state. Likewise, we are willing to cooperate with any genuine change-seeking government or persons within and outside the state.
You are a father with a good heart. Sir, we appeal on behalf of all Students in Ondo state to review the current payable fees in OAUSTECH, RUGIPO and AAUA downward for the betterment of the state at large.

Nairaland / General / Nigerian Students In Ondo State Denies Endorsing Gov. Akeredolu Ahead Of The Ele by ashleyman(m): 10:28pm On Jun 05, 2020
NIGERIAN STUDENTS DID NOT ENDORSE GOVERNOR ROTIMI AKEREDOLU: DEMAND REVERSAL OF TUITION FEES HE INCREASED.

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS is reputably the umbrella body of students of Nigeria origin, both within and abroad.

We have noticed with utmost dismay the news of the purported endorsement of the incumbent governor of Ondo state, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu by students in the state. We saw it in public domain like other students and the general public. In the pictures making the rounds, the governor was seen raising four fingers of his two hands up, alongside his chief of staff and some students.

We have not endorsement governor Akeredolu or any aspirant for that matter.

The students movement is not known for such alliance, especially with a government that has constantly disregarded the Union and her million of members in the state, thereby causing untold hardship on the flow system of education and students welfare.

Nigerian students are watching all the aspirants across parties, looking at their credentials, manifestoes and blueprint, to improve the educational sector and other sectors of the state.

The alleged fraud of 4.3billion naira, a state resources saved by the previous government has remained in secrecy. We have it on good authority that 430million naira paid to a consultancy firm belonging to one of the governor's family member and the complete disregard to all questions is not only appalling but gross failure in service to the people.

We have all documents concerning this transaction. Nigerian students, hence demand that the governor give a response to this immediately.

Freedom of information act has empowered every Nigerian to seek clarity in all transactions and businesses of government. Government activities and transactions should not be done in secrecy, students and Ondo state people demand clarifications.

The governor has not addressed very germane issues that affects our members and the educational sector, how can cheap endorsement be sought?

We demand that the governor should address also the following;

A. Understaffing of OSUSTECH

B. Unpaid salary of staff in the state owned tertiary institutions

C. Mobility for students on campuses and other basic amenities

D. Deteriorating structures.

E. REDUCTION OF FEE PAYABLE ACROSS ONDO STATE INSTITUTION.

The plight of students under the present government has increased astronomically.

The governor since assumption of office increased tuition fees from an average of 30 thousand naira to 150, in Akungba and from 70 to 150 thousand, 200 thousand in Osustech. This has led to thousands of students dropping out from various academic pursuit.

We unequivocally demand the reversal of the tuition fees which you increased sir.

Finally, we urge all good spirited sons and daughters of the state, who have ambition to govern our state to continue as we are observing and following on your manifestoes.

Nigerian students in Ondo state will determine who becomes the governor of Ondo state come 10th October election.

Nothing shall discourage us!
