How long did it take to get the passport back? MaryAndrews: I booked an appointment on on VFS website
https://www.vfsglobal.ca/IRCC-AppointmentWave1/
You will need to create a new user profile. I chose VFS Lagos and navigated through. Type of appointment is "Passport Submission" appointment. Just take your time to read instructions as you progress. If there are no appointments available, give it time and check again later. |

PPR is here guys! I kid you not Zubizareta is an angel God sent us on Nairaland. I’ve gotten my admission since June but agents kept playing with me. It has been a truly tedious process. I’ve lost A LOT of money and almost lose my mental state but I spoke to Zubi, he prepared my application in 3 days and in TWO WEEKS PPR landed. He told me it’ll end in praise and I had no doubts.
Thank you Jesus. I don’t deserve any of this blessing but God is beyond faithful
I don’t even know what to do now. I’m a first time applicant and everything seems so surreal. I lost nearly 3 million to an agent that dragged this whole thing but in 3 days and 3 nights Zubi delivered. I’ll never forget you in my life bro

How much was your tuition and how much did you use for PoF? DrDax: Below is the response received by a friend. How does he go about challenging the verdict? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. @jmg12
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. I have reviewed your study permit application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a study permit (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/eligibility.html). This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) (https://laws- lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/I-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/index.html). I am refusing your application. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: • Your proposed length of stay in Canada is inconsistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. • The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application. • Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). • I am not satisfied that you met the terms and conditions of the Letter of Acceptance. I am not satisfied that you have a current and valid Letter of Acceptance from a DLI. refused r216 (1) (e) |

Sorry about the denial. How much is your tuition and how much did you use for Pof? What work documents did you attach exactly ? AlexanderBusayo: Please everyone!!!
So my first application got denied on the basis of the Visa Officer not being convinced I have enough funds to foot my tuition and stay in Canada. After this, I asked my dad(my sponsor) to send the funds to my account.
I am about to apply again after gathering enough information from this great platform. But then I got my GCMS note saying I didn't show evidence of how my dad acquired his funds(even though I added his work documents).
Now my question is this, even though he has transferred the funds to my account and I will be explaining that in my SOP, do I still need to show proof of how my dad acquired the funds he is sponsoring me with? |

Go ahead then Badadvisor: Bro we have gone a long way already and i just funded my gic account. I confirmed from one of my uncle (who refused to assist me) about the rate and he told me almost the same thing, that converting naira to cad in Canada is most times 100 naira higher than Nigeria black market rate that's the reason I'm still giving him benefits of doubt |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by askarachi: 9:12pm On Nov 15, 2023 |
Run while you can. I learned the hard way Badadvisor: My agent is charging me 930 for Canadian dollar rate while it's showing 850 to 900 in the official aboki rate. He's insisting that buying cad with naira there in Canada is more expensive than the Nigerian market.(He's in Canada). Is he being honest with me? The highest i can see CAD to naira in black market rate is 900 and he's insisting on 940 🥲 I can't back off right now he's going to want to intentionally withhold some of my important documents I'd be needing because he's the one who started everything from the admission to the initial school fees deposit for me. This is just ruining my finances. Please nairalanders how much are you guys paying for CAD?
I'm just so sad right now |

I’ve really learned the hard way. The whole time the agent was using my funds to pay her own tuition. So painful gideon19: the fear of Nigeria agents is the beginning of wisdom. |

Thanks a lot. This helped bullstriker: Explain the situation to the school and ask for a copy of the LoA. Also, provide them your email so you can receive all their communication.
They will ask for your personal information to verify your identity |

International Business Uni. Actually it was an agent that helped me set everything up and when they started asking me for ridiculous amounts of money for the visa application I decided to stop working with them and they refused to give me the login details I simply called the school and they gave me the letter adezeih: I applied through them too. They also ignored my request for my login details when I was given admission. Just log in to the school student portal and use your email address (the one you registered with) and click on forgot password, a new password will be sent to your email. By the was, which school is it? |

When I see things like these I wonder how an agent managed to convince me that I need 120million for Pof for just a single applicant just so I can pay some stupid interest. It just annoys me afresh every morning 😡 gideon19: I used 1 year for my UBA MBS Spouse used 6 months (i think that's the max) for GTB MBS
I told them I have 94k CAD [liquid] as proof of funds just for this programme and I showed other assets in my name. NOTE: I used N561.686/CAD 1
I also ensured I have more than the available funds stated in the SOP i.e. more than the 94k CAD.
Instead of 10k CAD for primary applicant, i used 14k CAD cos, that's what they stated in the admission letter. The insurance is also from the school, so I used info I got from the school to draft the table
I just even realize say i made a mistake for this table. [lolz] |

Please anyone familiar with ApplyBoard here I need help
An agent helped me to get admission via ApplyBoard but started asking for ridiculous money for visa application so I want to do it myself. They’re now refusing to release the updated LOA the school sent to ApplyBoard. Is anyone familiar with a way I can get the letter or the code for the letter myself?
I’ve mailed the school and they assured me they’ve sent it |

Now the school is yet to send me an official copy of the receipt and time is going (supposed to resume January). Do I apply for the visa with a bank receipt of the transaction and explain the case to the VO in my LOE or it is absolutely must I get the receipt from the school ? |

Business › Re: Naira Hits All-Time Low Of ₦1,152/$1 In Black Market by askarachi: 1:43am On Oct 20, 2023 |
Pay off how ? Are you gonna charge the tenants in dollars? Isn’t it the same naira that you will have to convert to dollars? When you invest and the exchange rate fails you you’re only going round in circles INTEGRITYA1: You didn't lose either for the fact that your property will still keep appreciating in value no matter what.
But if you have opportunity to do, I will encourage you to consider some other hottest investment zone like Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos and Epe. Go for Estates with already approved tittle documents. It will definitely pay off. |

My guess is you’re a salary earner because this is how they think. How can you “store” money ? 😂 You will save and you will spend. You can’t keep cash away for that long pendusky: Jesu...
So, someone actually in 2014 advised me to buy dollars and store... that if Buhari win dollar will double...
I didn't want to take that risk, Buhari that was promising us 1N/$, then in GEJ era it was 180-190/$ that's about N18k/100$
The guy took loan, buy more than 5,000 dollars and store in his account...
Last time I heard from the guy, he was on his way out of the country.
If you have money, buy dollar and store, in 2years, dollar will reach N3,000/$ |
