coptic:

Diversity is a strength everywhere, whether in the workplace or societal settings.

A heterogeneous group is better at handling a range of complex challenges than a homogeneous one is. Our larger diversity of backgrounds, skills, histories, and talents make us better equipped to deal with difficult and unpredictable problems.

For instance, the Yorubas are good at education, technology, finance and entertainment. The Igbos are good at business and football. The middlebelt is good at farming. The Fulanis are good at cattle rearing. Not forgetting the mineral deposits in the Niger Delta and their educational levels. The Hausas are good at trading and traditional medicine. That's something. On the other hand, a homogeneous group is similar in a lot of ways. So you often find that they largely tend to have similar strengths and weaknesses.

Look at America and you would see the potentials of a diverse group.

It's just that in Nigeria, we have failed to realise even the smallest of our promise.

Which education, finance and technology are Yorubas good at

Nigerians, let us use Nnamdi Kalu, as an inspiration to become more engaged citizens and ask for better leadership.
We criticize our leaders, but we have not been exemplary citizens or followers.
We need to make our leaders know that we'll hold them to account.
While we are tearing our house down, the rest of Africa is moving on.
Take Rwanda for example: You'll think you were in Switzerland once you arrive in Kigali.
Rwanda had a recent war! Rwanda is landlocked and is not richer than Nigeria.
Rwanda is the cleanest state in all of Africa (take a look at the video below).

The Southeast may be landlocked like Rwanda, and has also had a genocide bit look at what they have become.
Can the Southeast meet the challenge. We hear that the southeast is roaring to emerge as the answer to the black man's prayer and is ready to compete. Look no further than Rwanda! Southeast wants a challenge? Well Rwanda has put down the gauntlet.

Politics / Debate : Is It Only In Ondo State That We Have An Eze Ndigbo by asorocker: 10:59am On Dec 26, 2016
I am not someone who believes igbos investing or spreading to every nook and cranny of Nigeria i still prefer igbos in Lagos , Kano, jos and Kaduna and the East and other key African states.

But the mobility of igbos is what cannot be determined, igbos have spread to every nook and cranny of Nigeria and where ever they have found themselves , they have been able to organise and form a body that caters for the interest of the people in those locations.

There is Eze igbo in malaysia, indonesia, japan, New york , Germany, south Africa, Ghana, Ivory coast , cameroon.
If this is the case why is a foruth class traditional ruler in a fourth class state , in a fourth class locality loosing sleep over the non significant post of Ezendigbo where as first class royalties like the sultan of sokoto and Oni of ife dont seem to mind.

Please it is not that i support the position of the Eze Ndigbo because igbos are originally ruled by Ohaneze and not by Eze, Igbow enwe eze.
Politics / Re: Nigeria To Build Nuclear Plants – Onu by asorocker: 1:56am On Dec 22, 2016
This is the best Idea by the APC government so far, they should endeavour to site it in Lagos and Kano as this would solve the perenial electricity problem of the 2 most populous states in Nigeria , it will also serve to boost the industrialization of the 2 states and deepen the cost effective manufacture of goods and services and reduce the quantum waste in Diesel.

This is the best News so far i have heard this year.

Kudos to the best APC Ministers in Buhari's cabinet and a first class Engineer.

Please this 2 Nuclear plants can only be meaningful if they are sighted in the Lagos and kano states as they are core APC states and should not be wasted in wailers states as the wailers are in opposition parties.

AZeD1:

California by landmass is bigger than the whole of Nigeria.
If it was country it would have the 7th largest economy in the world.

Still want to compare Anambra and California?

By the way, how has the airport improved IMO state? Do you know any investor that invested in IMO state because it has an airport?

90% of the US states have more than 5 Airports each only very small states have just an airport.

Nigeria is begger in landmass than Newyork (15 Airports ) and Florida (20 Airports)yet both have more than 10 airports each .

The Airport that was buil in Imo State was buil by a combination of 3 states (Imo, Abia, half Ebonyi) with support 2 states (Anambra , Enugu)
the state Airport has been a life saver reducing the number of lives that would have been lost via road accidents by travelling through porrly maitained federal highways (death traps set by the FG).

The Airport has improved and boosted business activities in the 2 of the onwer states Imo whose business men make use of the airport to transact business transactions and close by City Aba whose business men use the Airport Cargo facilities.

The Airport has also served as a buffer to Enugu and PH airport in times of emergencies when the airports are shut down for repairs or emergencies .

The Airport has empowered businesses like Hotels , Airport shuttles, Travel Agencies, logisitics businesses, air haulage firms, at a time an imo investor Iwuanyanwu had an airline Oriental airline that deepened the use of the Airport.

some few years back Oji uzo kalu operated Slok Airlines that employed hundreds of people directly and thousands indirectly that provided livelihood to a number of families until the Airline was shut by one of Nigeria's biggest problem in the person of Obasanjo.

The Airport has led to infrastructural developement in the host community in enyiogugu Mbaise., feeder roads, electricity, hotels e.t.c

I also think the airline brings revenue to the imo goverment , i remember on many occassion paying some kind of tax when i used the airport.

The advantages of an International Airport in Anambra if listed will be far too numerous . An Anambra indigene owns Air peace and other Anambra indigenes will float airlines that would employ thousands of people and deepen the investment in the Aviation industry , Anambra indgenes have the most private jets in Nigeria and the Airport will host so many private jets with the accruing tax and levies boosting their IGR.
The Aviation fuel business of Orient Energy will be fully utilized generating revenue for the state, Anambra indigenes who by far own more hotels than any other state will turn the Oba town into an aviation city with anicilary businesses like you have in ikeja and Ajao estate..

The Airport will boost export businesses like the Export of fruits and vegetables etc.

I am predicting that an Airport in Anambra owned and operated privately will eventually become a Major International Hub like the Lagos , Abuja and Protharcourt International Airports.

You people won't stop commenting like lunatics on NL. Igbo states do not collect federal allocation ba ?

There's another article on NL where senator went to inspect on going work on the second niger bridge.

Abi na Obiano de build second niger bridge ?

Actually The neglect the guy could be talking of might be the East collecting the lowest allocation from the Federal Government with the lowest budgetary allocation by the federal government to the extent that in the planned $30b loan nothing was allocated to the South East.

This also inlcudes that the only project that the south east has which is the second Nigeria Bridge has been abandoned.
when you now add the abandoned property which the federal goverment committee foisted on the East and the 20 pounds policy that was designed to finish the east and pauperize them for life after the came out of the civil war with their lands devastated and their infrastructrue destroyed

FG may have allowed Anambra to run the Port. With both international cargo airport and river port in Anambra the state would have become a mega state with international links..

If Anambra eventually makes the port funtional , first is that there would be a total industrial revolution in Onitsha which would spread to Asaba , Nnewi , Obosi. Onitsha will end sawllowing neighbouring towns with rapid build up of ware houses , export terminals , hotels , Banks.

The secret behind Dubai that we all always love to travel to is nothing but their Sea Port and their Mega Airport, Dubai has no other secrete , These 2 factors will turn Onitsha to develop towards the dubai model.

I had tears in my eyes imagining the wanton and gratuitous sufferings, ojukwu brought onto his fellow nigerians in general and his people in particular just so he could satisfy his own personal ambition and ego

Had ojukwu truly wanted to secede with his people, it's imperative that he shuns any military option as the (obvious) end is now confined to the annals of our reprehensible national history

Crocodile tears that try to obscure and over turn the truth. if the Aburi Accord was kept there would not have been amy secession

This is as research conducted by the company indicated that at least thirty percent raw materials input sourced locally would form part of assemblage of the 24th century stock of cars.

About 750 new jobs will be created between now and August next year when a Chinese firm Hawtai rolls out its Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to be assembled at the Eastern Vehicle Assembling Limited (EVAL) in Enugu.

This is as research conducted by the company indicated that at least thirty percent raw materials input sourced locally would form part of assemblage of the 24th century stock of cars.

EVAL Managing Director, Sir Joseph Okechukwu, who stated this in Enugu recently, added the firm was investing about five billion Naira into the project in line with the Federal Government’s effort to localize industries.

He stated that President Muhammadu Buhari would on December 10th inaugurate the project sitting on 50 hectares of land at Egede, Ninth mile, Udi council area, adding that the vehicles are 100 percent steel construction.
“The project is one of a kind because the vehicles we are about to bring into Nigeria, is a twenty four century technology vehicles. They are 100% steel construction. This is in partnership with Hawtai in China. The vehicles are highly technological. It will for the first 3Greal time system vehicle,” he stated.

Okechukwu, who was part of the Federal Government’s delegation during President Buhari’s visit to China, added that the interest in the Hawtai range of cars increased after the visit where the delegation discussed with officials of the company.

“Haitai Motor Group, are the only Chinese Vehicle manufacturer with 10 years experience in SUV production, largest clean diesel, and Intellectual property right on automobile. They intend to develop our own local materials to support the industry which has a time frame. They will reduce our dependence on foreign components. We are going to have supporting industries that will help in the components of the vehicles. They are bringing quality vehicles not fiber. Affordability is the key and the vehicles are covered with five years warranty and they intend to have Showrooms in all the six geo political zones staring with southeast”, he said.
