BREAKING NEWS: This is to announce to all those 2015 UTME candidates who are yet to check their results, right from the beginning of the exam till date, that JAMB has now re-enabled the free online result checking portal. If you would like to check your result instantly, right now, follow the procedures outlined by clicking this link: Check 2015 JAMB Result Online for Free : http://www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme1/ |
The Registrar of Joint Admission and matriculation Board has maintained that the result of candidates participating in the 2015 UTME are sent to them 2 hours after the examination. According to him, about 97,000 candidates who sat for the exams have seen their scores. However, we have had candidates who complained that they have not received their results even after 24 hours of writing the examination. The question is, who is to be blamed for this, the candidates? JAMB? or is it a network issue? SOURCE: http://myschool.com.ng/school/news/35051/utme-results-are-sent-to-candidates-2-hours-after-exams-registrar.html |

The Nigeria Army has reported the death of a large number of terrorists in Sambisa and Gwoza following the ongoing air campaign by the Air Force “to clear terrorists from all their enclaves”. “Many others are also scampering all over the forest and out of the struck bases,” Major General Chris Olukolade, Director Defence Information, said in a press statement. “The air strikes which today targeted the training camps and logistics dumps of the terrorists in Sambisa forests and parts of Gwoza have been highly successful achieving their aims with required precision,” he said, adding that casualty details will be determined in subsequent phases of the operation. He further stated that the strikes were continuing in other locations in advance of ground troops and other elements of the mission. Analysts and human rights observers fear that wholesale bombing of villages and communities may be ongoing in the area in the campaign to “clear terrorists from all their enclaves”, with the Nigerian Army lacking information or uninterested in how many civilians may have been killed or wounded. source: www. http://saharareporters.com/2015/02/19/‘more-terrorists’-killed-sambisa-and-gwoza-air-campaign-nigerian-army-says-no-information |
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended one Nwabuike Enwerem, 18, for allegedly hacking to death his neighbour, Sunday IIaya. The unfortunate incident happened on Mulianu Street, Ajangbadi area of Lagos State. Enwerem was said to have stabbed the victim on the left side of the neck in the course of a misunderstanding over money meant to be shared by their younger brother. It was learnt that both boys fought in defence of their younger brothers who were given money after collecting firewood from the bush for a ceremony in their area. On fetching the firewood, the suspect’s younger brother complained to him that he was short changed by the younger brother of the deceased. An argument ensued which led to a fight and before anyone knew what was happening, Enwerem, was said to have gone into his parents room and came out with a knife with which he used in hacking the deceased. Enwerem, who hails from Anambra State, was charged before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court on a one count of murder. The charge reads, “That you, Nnabaike Enwerem, on December 24, 2014, at about 8.30pm, at Mulianu Street, Ajangbadi, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Sunday Ilaya, aged 18 years, by stabbing him with a knife on the left side of his neck and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.” The police prosecutor, represented by Corporal Lydia Akhadolome prayed the Court to remand the suspect in prison custody because he was in for a murder charge. The magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted the application by the police. Layeni said, “The defendant is to be remanded in custody for the first 30 days pending legal advice from the DPP. The police are also to duplicate the case file on time.” The Magistrate however adjourned the case till March 10, this year.
