I have a site and my pictures are on it because I believe we from this part of the world need a better representation online. And also we need to be accountable to what we say or do.

I have visited may Nigerian sites, it relatively look faceless, I wonder why? What is your take on this?

After all the comments I have recieved from all categories of persons about putting my pictures on my site I wish to ask this question.

I you have a website, will you put your pictures on it? Be it personal or business. If yes, why? If no, why not?

And if you have a website now, do you have your picture on it? What are your reasons?

I think its time that accademic institutions should explore how to strenghten indigineous development in this field. It will go a long way to reduce cost.

Thanks guys. I welcome all the suggestion. But I will like to see how I put all that to gether and still maintain my original intension of having a personal site with various services and items I have gathere all this while, I intend to assist others who may not have got such collecctions.

Also I want to be responsible for what I stand for and believe in. I guessed that many people easily defraud is because they are faceless and nameless. So I thought its time we start getting responsible for what we say and do.

Hello Fellow Webmasters, post your latest work here. It may be few days or weeks but must not be older than 2 months.

Please keep to the period limit of not older than 2 months.

Better still, you can use and ftp software to upload your site. I think it is easier. Here are the steps:

1. Download an ftp program (E.g Core FTP LE 2.0 : free version-    http://www.coreftp.com/download.html you may google for more but u can start with this, is free).

2. Install the ftp once download is complete.

3. Through "start" > "programs" on your computer open the ftp programme.

4. Once the its open, fill the following in the dialogue box that comes up: Site name, domain name, your cpanel username and password.

Watch what happens till you see the the folders in your cpanel open in the right side of the screen. That means all the info were entered and done correctly.

5. From the server folder view side on the right, open public_html folder.

6. From your system folder view side on the left, open the folder containing the site you have designed, Right-click > Select all > Right-click on the highlighted files > select upload. Or After highlighting it Click, drag and drop in the public_html folder opened on the server side of the screen.

Bellow you will see all the files queed up. Allow and monitor as it uploads.

I believe it will work. But awearness it still low and may still have abstract thought about it. I think we need a better orientation. Like what happened in AIDS awearness programmes. Maybe talking about how we all can improve our lives.

Personally, I accademic pursuit played a great role in my choice to become a Web Designer. Because I had always wanted to be a Space Scientist or An Aeronautic Engineer. But while seeking formal education I can only settle for Computer Science because of the limited training and cost to pursue my dream field.

But while one computer, I only narrowed down 3 options: To a computer engineer, programmer or web developer. My Choice? I guess you know!

Also the limitation of Nigeria and Africa's presence online has also become a factor. I just wish I can be rolling out 100s of websites for people everyday!

Pls by what calculation did you get N3000 to be $5? Because by N130 : $1 It will give you $23.

1. Yes if sold individually, with the retail price tags like $30 - $100+ they worth over $670,000

2. For the N3000, it is based on these item is offer. You see, a lot of things are very costly for those of us here while same cost less elsewhere. The only way to move forward is to make the need change.

I expected you will have had comment to on my hosting. We still get 100MB with domain for N10,000 but many have been getting that from me for only N5,000 because I get it that less so why skin others.

3. How can 2000 templates be suspicious? When Sites like www.fxstyle-templates.com and other membership sites offer well over 11000 templates starting from Less than $30.

4. And these are not free templates. Though I also know that since it is sold with Master Resell Rights the buyer have the right to do as he wants with them. Note: You cannot sell a free template. Its a general policy (Also learn the difference between resell rights).

And finally, do you think I would have put that on a site bearing my name and details if I am not sure.

Hello akay47 , creating (installing) forum on your site is one of the easiest you can do ones you have a web host. That is you have bought a web host and a domain name.

Login to your cpanel and do the following:
Scroll down > Click "Fantastico" > From "Discussion Boards" Select any of the scripts of your choice (usually phpBB2 or SMF). Follow the intruction that come up within the page to complete the intallation. Test, amend, correct and test again.

If you make mistake, start all over (but do delete the previous installation at Fantastico. After some practice, I believe you will get used to it.
