PoliticsRe: 2027: APC Government Destroying Opposition For Tinubu To Stay In Power – ADC by aswani(m): 4:03am On Mar 26
SlavaUkraini:
The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government of destroying opposition to make President Bola Tinubu continuing staying in power.

Abdullahi made this allegation on Wednesday when he featured in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.

He was speaking on the forthcoming 2027 general elections and the crisis in different opposition political parties.

During military rule, Abacha created five political parties and encouraged them to make him the sole presidential candidate.

“What we are seeing now is that the APC government is destroying every other political party so President Bola Tinubu will remain the sole candidate in 2027.

We in the ADC have a duty to protect democracy and we will do everything legally possible to do that in Nigeria.

“We are not a conquered people and cannot be enslaved. We are citizens and we have rights in this country,” he said.

It is incredible that theur reaction is like that but not surprising at all.

Funny thing is if they took stock and listened clearly, what the guy said is true and there is some good advice there.

He wants a strong opposition and thinks they should align sensibly.

But as he is a Yoruba man and he hasn't said Peter Obí is the best thing since sliced bread, they are going to insult and abuse him.

I have had a look and apart from showing that Alan Greenspan filed an FOIA in 2023, your link proves nothing else.

Someone is manually updating the so called progress on FOIA, there are no actual images of court orders. Also the dates on your link don't match the numerous times post 2023 that Hundeyin has posted about the case on here.

I certainly will not be going to any US government legal databases, you are the one that is welcome to show proof of whatever it is you believe in.

Also, my point stands, why are we not seeing any congent reporting information on this (phantom) case anywhere? No videos of counsel going into and coming out of court houses. Nothing on CIA, FBI or even the Judges websites. Nothing on her case docket on the DOJ website. No news website is faithfully reporting on the various postponements of the court cases or comments from all parties, not even a "no comment".

Even if you don't have a video of the judge angrily telling off FBI or CIA, I hope you have some court document somewhere showing the angry tone as reported as well as various postponements even if they don't align with when they were posted on here.

We look forward to whatever excuses David Hundeyin has in June for documents not being released and postponed again.

Thanks for information about the FOIA bring filed in 2023 though, let us see official information about various postponements of an actual case. It can't be that difficult to find, right?

PoliticsRe: The American Courts Are About To Tell Nigeria The Truth About Bola Ahmed Tinubu by aswani(m): 2:00pm On Mar 25
ottersberger:
I won’t be relying on Nairaland searches, my friend, that’s not how I source my information.

To briefly revisit the facts: in 2023, a FOIA lawsuit was filed by Aaron Greenspan. The case centers on 1990s investigations into a heroin trafficking ring in Chicago. A U.S. federal court subsequently ordered the FBI and DEA to process and release records relating to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, rejecting their use of a “Glomar response” to deny the existence of such records, while the CIA was largely excluded from that directive.

That is where things currently stand. As I mentioned earlier, Mr. Tinubu retained legal counsel in an effort to block or limit the release of these records. He also engaged counsel in Chicago during the proceedings initiated by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar seeking access to his academic records at Chicago State University.

It is also on record that Tinubu has actively lobbied to prevent the disclosure of this information, arguing that releasing it under the Freedom of Information Act would be injurious to him personally.

This raises a straightforward question: why would a sitting president make such an appeal? What exactly are the FBI, DEA, and possibly the CIA withholding?.

I suppose we will have to wait until June for more clarity. Be patient, my friend. Time, after all, reveals everything cheesy
I have been waiting since 2023 when Hundeyin first flew the kite. Well I knew it was BS as soon as I googled all the parties to this case, including Greenspan, and nothing related to this case from personal, organisation or US news websites.

And then Hundeyin laughingly said the papers were released and only President Tinubu's name was redacted.

After that, he just kept on saying the judge berated CIA or FBI and said they must release the papers, 500 pages each week over 10 weeks apparently, in a few months time.

The Atiku part with releasing CSU records is the one that might be true? I haven't seen proof of that either though so don't ask me to defend it.

By the way, you used the word "Facts", I suggest you modify it as there's nothing factual about this Hundeyin cruise catching nonsense.

I only suggested you search on Nairaland so that you will see that the format hasn't changed.

They get their recruits from all over the areas just below the desert. As we don't have any (properly manned) borders in the North aad they all speak the same language, they just stroll in to pick up their Boko Haram recruitment forms at their leisure.

Of more importance is the funding. Cut out the funding and things might improve

He couldn't have gone to court to forestall anything because nothing was ever in court on this regard.

Ever since 2023, thus particular phantom court case has been thrown up, maybe every 6 months, yet no proof nothing.

Just a post claiming Judge Howell has berated FBI and CIA. A search on the date of sitting(s) gut her found nothing of the sort. And of course, our Hundeyin friend would keep saying date has been pushed backwards.

The day before the set date, another excuse will come up and we will hear how the date has again being moved backwards.

For how much longer will this happen.

PoliticsRe: Do You Think Bola Ahmed Tinubu Will Win Next Year's Presidential Election by aswani(m): 7:47am On Mar 25
AMINDA:
You wish. Despite the North largely agreeing that power should head South in 2023, Atiku still managed to poll over 1m votes from the Northcentral. So Atiku is hated in the NW? Wishful thinking. Atiku won all Northwestern states except Zamfara and Jigawa. Tinubu only won the NW region overall because of the efforts of the likes of Elrufai (400k from Kaduna) and Ganduje (500k votes from Kano) and Atiku’s lacklustre performance in Kano. Fastforward to today, Tinubu has betrayed Elrufai, betrayed Ganduje (yes) and Kwankwaso is on his way to the ADC. The first, second and third runners-up from 2023 will be under one political umbrella. You can do the math. Tinubu does not have any concrete base outside of his Southwest and even that will be fragmented no matter what he does.

Isn't it a little conspicuous that ALL political parties, even Accord, suddenly developed leadership crisis during Tinubu's regime? Continue to bury your head in the sand but don't expect us to do the same.
I don't agree with your analysis but I respect them. Kwankwaso and Obi appear to be headed elsewhere anyway away from ADC but if not, we shall see what ADC have to offer post primarirs as that tends to be the litmus test.

Per Parties in turmoil, is it President Tinubu that was the one that opened a useless registration portal for ADC.

Point being the opposition doesn't need him to show themselves up for the incompetence in their ranks.
PoliticsRe: Do You Think Bola Ahmed Tinubu Will Win Next Year's Presidential Election by aswani(m): 7:03am On Mar 25
AMINDA:
Gentle reminder that the South didn't vote Tinubu. He only won 4 Southwestern states out of 17 Southern states. The North made Tinubu president with 5.6m votes. Tinubu didn't even win in Lagos and Osun but you expected ALL Northerners to vote Tinubu in a landslide as if Atiku is an outcast. How many votes did Buhari get from the Southwest. Did they vote for him in a landslide? That's not what the data says. Tinubu only got such huge votes from the North because respected individuals like Elrufai pricked the conscience of Northerners and urged them to keep their word. How has Tinubu repaid Northerners and his most loudest 2023 campaign champion from the North? Time is a gentleman.

If it's really about the South and not Southwestern/Tinubu quest for power, he should have supported someone from the Southeast. Even after winning, he has proceeded to disenfranchise Obi by destroying the LP and even the PDP that already zoned its ticket to the South. Tinubu is not the preferred candidate of the South.
Atiku is an outcast in North Central and North West because he keeps putting himself up for elections and blocks the pathway for other Northerners.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has South West and South South.

Per destroying LP, that is nothing to do with him and more to do with the greed of those surrounding Peter Obi and their inability to want to share Obidients money.
