But their commanding officers were offshoot of the Nigerian army and were the best infantry commanders then. So if they are ogogoro drinking and ashawo chasing, then it speaks a lot about the Nigerian army don't you think so. When you point a finger at someone, your 4 fingers are pointing at you.
You certainly wouldn't get any argument from me on that. First sensible comment you've made so far, keep it up.

The problem you have is that you lack deductive reasoning and as such you find it hard to analyse statements and find out what was not said. That is issue with so many Nigerians they are not smart in thinking.
Per the bolded, you might want to do some self introspection on that.

Taaa keep quiet there do you know what a pincer formation is? The Nigerian army spread their division to attack that is not a pincer formation. You use a pincer formation when you are directly confronting the enemy or a detachment of the enemy encamped in a particular place.

Oga if Germany achieved it in WW2 without air support and they had the heaviest machinery, they still conquered France in 2 weeks crossing the dardanelle a dangerous valley crossing. Again note Banjo is still to be blamed for the misadventure in Benin, he knew his orders clearly why keeping a detachment in Benin?
You want to compare the Nazi German army and their professionalism to ogogoro drinking, ashewo sexing Biafran army. Some, especially the ones from minority tribes in the Eastern region who did not want to be fighting for an Igbo Biafran republic in the first place.

Do you know how many fronts the Nazi army simultaneously fought on and successfully advanced in before effectively the whole world pushed them back bit by bit?

You want to compare that to a constantly retreating Biafran army, Muritala madness in trying to force the amphibious brigade across the Niger excepting, àbi?

Wetin persin nor go read for Nairaland sha.

Irony1:
Let me burst your bubble the Nigerian army as of 1966 before the coups was only 10k strong in Number. The bulk of the infantry officers were igbos, before the war started Ojukwu knew that there was a skills gap in the Nigerian army especially in Africa infantry division. Hence the fast advance was made to the West via Ore. If they had reached Ijebu Ode, Ojukwu had calculated that having Banjo a Yoruba man leading that advance would appeal to the Yorubas to join so that they would dislodge the Northern Soldiers from the Western region. Banjo slowing down at Ore and inviting a counter offensive was his greatest blunder, as he made the Nigerian to win the propaganda war in the West which encourage massive recruitment of youths and prisoners to swell the number of fighting men in the Nigerian army. That was the greatest mistake made by Banjo. The Nigerian army at the start of the war had a skills gap in Infantry especially in the commanding officers corps as the most skillful commanders were igbos.
I don't know where to start with a post containing so many falsehoods that was passed down verbally from generation to generation.

You are saying things to fit your narrative bearing little resemblance to any reality on ground.

Irony1:
Again you are still lying that Nigerian army didn't have to regroup when they actually regrouped at Sabongida Ora. Under muritala's command to launch the counter offensive.
You realise the Nigerian Army went towards Biafra using a pincer formation so the ones that defeated Biafra comprehensively at Ọrẹ were different to the ones approaching from Edo North?

That’s not the point here. The point here is indigenous people of Oshodi should represent their people not outsider.
To be fair, some were probably born and/or brought up in that Oshodi.

My concern is they shouldn't use official NDC WhatsApp groups to be taking about Ndigbo specific stuff. They should create their own Ndigbo NDC whatsapp group for that.

Having said that, it's tone deafness of the worst kind and surely someone should know that and say something.
PoliticsRe: Biafrans Burnt My Mother Alive; I Joined Nigerian Army For Revenge - Rose Bassey by aswani(m): 8:51am On Jun 08
Irony1:
It was clear Banjo screwed up, and I don't blame him because he is not an infantry officer ask an infantry officer when you mount an offensive that is characterised by speed, you don't make the mistake of slowing down as that allows your enemy to regroup.
As I have said before, that speed thing was impossible, the roads were bad and the machinery was heavy.

The Nigerian Army didn't need to regroup, they knew where they were and simply waited for them at Ọrẹ.

To show how idiotic the plan was, the Biafran Army that was defeated at Ọrẹ ran back all the way across the Niger, they couldn't even stop to fight in Benin, or anywhere else, as they had soiled their reputation there.

So they had no backup plan, imagine that.

You are deceiving yourself.

NDC is currently in full control of the people you will support. You have no choice on that.
To clear the doubts of you Obidients, they kicked Aisha Yesufu out of the process and gave the ticket to someone else.
The Aisha Yesufu slap down was one hell of a power move by Dickson, a brave man indeed.

Even better still, they allowed her to rant and still stood their ground. Na dat wan for pain am pas.

Dickson and his gang now know if they can crush Aisha as they did with Peter Obí and Obidients not saying pim, they can do as they please to Obidients in NDC.

Why didn't obidients movement form its own political party and control it?

You think Dickson would allow the likes of Aisha Yesufu to manage funds anyhow the way they created separate bank accounts when they were in LP? It'll not happen. This is NDC Dickson and you guys are caged. Obidient Movement funds donations must be under the control of Dickson.
Obidients had a free ride in LP, especially with the monies, dere eye go clear as NDC nor go gree dem dat freedom.

If Dickson doesn't back down, he is going to have some serious turmoil as Obidients too nor send.

That situation of Aisha been denied an elective position that happened in NDC, that would never have happened in LP, such was the Obidients power.

The reality of her new situation, as well as knowing Peter Obí is unable or unwilling to help her, is the pain that caused her to be screaming and shouting at NDC officers.

Eye don clear, Obidients ntorr!
PoliticsRe: NDC Takes Steps Towards Institutionalisation, Reaffirms Party Supremacy by aswani(m):
AMINDA:
Story! Obi has led his horde of followers into a ditch but some of you are still non-the-wiser. It was clear from day one that the NDC was selectively allowed to be registered by INEC just so Obi can be lured away to where he can be checkmated. Why do you think the likes of Reno, Keyamo and Wike have stopped attacking Obi? They have him right where they needed. This is no different from Tinubu using the likes of Babachir Lawal and Late Doyin Okupe to lure Obi away in 2023 just so opposition votes will be splitted. It was evident in how they immediately switched sides immediately Obi lost the election. Tinubu did the math and saw that it was the only way he could win. Obi's naivety is shocking. His Obidient movement has been completely neutralised by the NDC and virtually all his allies are being denied tickets.
Don't forget Pat Utomi played a huge part in sequesting Peter Obi in LP. That is President Tinubu's very own Pat Utomi ensured Peter Obi had a home where he could take away the normally guaranteed PDP Ndigbo votes from PDP.

History of course repeating itself again with Peter Obí now in NDC.
PoliticsRe: Biafrans Burnt My Mother Alive; I Joined Nigerian Army For Revenge - Rose Bassey by aswani(m): 7:36am On Jun 08
Irony1:
There was logistics, and mind you the Biafran army had the best logistics which was why they stayed long during the blockade. This was testified by Philip Effiong's first son. The truth was Banjo halting the advance at Benin and Ore was so costly. Banjo was incompetent and I don't blame him because he was not an infantry man and a such he had no idea of how to coordinate a military advance, it was never about honor, Please let us cut the crap here.
My annoyance with Banjo was why accept to lead the division to advance to Lagos via the midwest, if he had misgivings because the plan was clear. If you clear Nigerian army divisions from Asaba, Benin, Ore and advance to Ijebu Ode and they let the West see the importance of getting rid of the northern soldiers in their region, then you sell the appeal of Yoruba joining the Biafra cause and by the time they are few kilometers from Lagos, they have full complement of men and machines, that alone would have put Gowon on panic mode, rather his blunder of stopping at Benin and Ore ensure that the Nigerian army was first to sell the propaganda of the biafran army which made them rapidly recruit men from the Western and Middle belt regions into the army. That was why Ojukwu told him clearly "Victor what are you doing in Ore"
You do realise that the first time Banjo met any military resistance was at Ọrẹ so he didn't clear anything, cut out the lies.

The Mid Western state had been demilitarised, as requested by the Military administrator, who did not want his region to be a war zone being on the border with Biafra.

You clearly know little about military warfare, Banjo couldn't have just sailed through Benin, he had to make sure the place was clear and armed people couldn't attack him from the rear flank.

Because Biafran soldiers made it more difficult by terrorising the locals and misusing the power their uniform, and arms gave them, the process of proceeding towards Lagos took longer.

He would have needed to do that in every single place he went past as he got closer to Lagos and more flanks to secure too. There was no way he could advance rapidly as Ikemba expected.

Finally, as soon as Obasanjo said he wasn't going to allow free access, that mission was doomed.

The officer that shot the man in the roof needs to be arrested. That's bad policing.
You realise the officer shot someone that kidnapped children, right?

Apart from arresting the officer, I guess they should also release the kidnappers immediately and hand over the woman and her children back to them.

Also, the ones that kidnapped school kids, took them to the forest and beheaded their teacher, they too should not be shot at when the eventual rescue is attempted.

Bad policing indeed!

Benin City might not have lost 100 in one day but the daily systematic brutalisation of the locals, as well as random killings which numbered more than that 100, over the period of illegal occupation by the Biafran army was as worse a pain as anyone else suffered during the war.

But why did the police have to shoot at the man in the roof who bore no arms?

I know the society is charged, but extra-judicial killing isn't right either. You don't shoot at an unarmed person except the court of competent jurisdiction has passed a death sentence, isn't it?

However, looking closely, despite the close proximity, it doesn't look like the suspected kidnapper in the roof was hit by the gunshot. He should have crumpled to the floor from the roof and died if that happened. However, his descent, thought fast, showed some clumsy coordination, suggesting that he wasn't killed.

Yet, this poses another challenge: how can our security agencies shoot that closely and not hit the intended target?
The person is part of a kidnapping syndicate and you are asking why the police shot at him?

You should go and stand in front of any member of the family of people that have been kidnapped and ask the question again to get the appropriate response.

I am very okay with recorded extra judicial killing in cases like this. You do realise those animals kidnapped children, right?
